  1. Who is the Mike Bibby equivalent that we can trade all of our scrubs for? Position doesn't matter. I'll say this again though. This team plays much better when Splitter is available.
  2. ( probably not ... but he'd be an upgrade over THJ, and possibly a decent 7th man )
  3. Actually, the rebounding wing that we could use, is a player that everyone despises and no one wants. I wanted him 2 years ago, before he signed with a division rival. Name that player ....
  4. Name 3 other times Nique has jinxed the Hawks. He's 98% accurate when he calls a game. Give credit to Big V for hitting an incredibly difficult shot. Much like how Tobias Harris did last year.
  5. I've grown to at least "like" the white unis. I hate the mix and match of red top, granite shorts ( although a red + white mix might look OK ) I still think the all red unis are the best. Hawks should blind everyone next year with all volt unis, with black and red lettering.
  6. ( raising hand ) ... Consider me "got" too. I had a post in my mind about how this would open up a roster spot to add a player. That was an ESPN quality headline there.
  7. The Cavs have a top 5 all time player, a PF who before he joined the Cavs was putting up Hall of Fame numbers, and a high scoring former #1 overall pick at PG. We're not SUPPOSED to beat the Cavs. So should we just cancel operations for the rest of the season? You say tge Hawks will get blown out 2 games in a playoff series because they will quit. But the only people I see "quitting" is yourself and a few other people. NOW ( slamming hand on my desk ) .. if you wanna crown them, then crown their AZZ. But the Cavs are who we THOUGHT they were. But Bud's not letting them off the hook.
  8. Treat him like Mariano Rivera. Save him until the 4th quarter, and let him get the final 8 minutes of the game to close it out. Don't play him in blowouts, to preserve him. I would love to see a team use an old vet scorer in that fashion.
  9. Hogwash. Unless the Hawks finish 7th or 8th in the East, and face the Cavs, no one is sweeping the Hawks in Round 1. Every other team in the East is exactly like us. Even Toronto's recent streak should be side eyed a bit, seeing that they've been feasting on bad or hurt teams. People keep trying to bury this team, yet, we're in 3rd place again. The Hawks could very well be a 47 to 48 win team, and still be in the East Finals. Let this thing play out, instead of trying to bury this team in midseason.
  10. So in other words, ya'll want Joe Johnson back.
  11. Splitter is LIGHT YEARS a better player than Pero.
  12. Since going 14 - 12 in their first 26 games ( which is the official low water mark for the season ), the Hawks have gone 12 - 6 in their last 18 games ( .667 winning percentage ) If they continue to win at that pace over the next 38 games, the Hawks will finish 51 - 31, and likely be the #2 or #3 seed in the East. Avoiding being seeded to play Cleveland in a potential 2nd round matchup, should be regular season goal. As for Horford, you'd think the guy that made one of the most important plays in franchise history, would get more respect. He isn't playing bad basketball by any means. He's just a little more inconsistent. From an analytics standpoint, he's having a very good season, and his production is almost identical to last year's.
  13. Dennis is far more aggressive than Teague. It doesn't mean he's far more effective. And to say that Teague doesn't crave big moments, isn't accurate at all. Teague has won plenty of games for us in the 4th quarters of games. People forget that Teague's emergence in the NBA started in the 2011 playoffs. Hinrich had a great series vs Orlando in Round 1, with Teague completely buried on the bench, hardly getting any minutes. But when Hinrich got hurt in Game 6 vs Orlando, Drew decided to start Teague. And Teague knocked the damn door down, easily being our best player in that series. Put Dennis in that situation, and he could possibly do the same thing. It's just that Dennis has received far more playing time in his first 2.5 seasons, than Teague ever got. Dennis is more of a Jamal Crawford "feast or famine" type of player, than a steady PG. And when Dennis is off, he compounds that with bad turnovers. Still, his future is bright as he continues to develop. Carmelo the anthesis of Bud ball? No way. Melo would flat out thrive in Bud's system. With the increased talent around him this season, he's averaging a career high 4 assists per game. Only Lebron, Durant, and Nick Batum average more assists from the SF spot. I like Teague and have become a Teague supporter over the years. But the lethality of a lineup like this ... PG - Schröder G - Bazemore F - Anthony PF - Millsap C - Horford ... would be tremendous, and possibly enough to get us past Cleveland.
  14. Plus he'd be insurance if for some reason we lose Horford in free agency. What people don't understand is that you actually need a guy like Faried when the shots aren't falling. He's the type who you can send to the offensive glass by himself, and he'll still come up with the rebound and get you 2nd chance possessions. More important, he's absolutely lethal as a big man who can run the floor and finish on the break. That's why he's on Team USA and thrives on that team. We're 7th in the league in percentage of shots that are 3 pointers ( 31.8% ... league average is 28.2% ) ... but only 20th in the league in 3 point percentage makes ( 34.2% ... league average is 35.1% ) Compare that to last season, where we were 4th in shots that were 3's, and 2nd in 3 point makes. In a world where Kyle Korver is an average 3 point shooter, we need to be able to win games in a variety of ways.
  15. Kenneth Faried. Bolster the frontcourt if Teague is dealt. Teague + THJ for Faried. Not that I want Jeff traded, but I wouldn't be mad at that.
  16. Good TEAM win tonight. Even THJ was ballin.
  17. So the question is, what is the liklihood that Cleveland goes into the playoffs healthy? Answer: not likely And that's why you play everything out.
  18. .... and we're still in 3rd place and .5 games out of 2nd. Why? Because those other teams are just like us.
  19. The "experts" want Chicago to be that 2nd team real bad. But until they prove to be a dominant home team, or an above average road team, it's not happening.
