Do it in a heartbeat. The playoffs proved that you need an Alpha Dog type of scorer in order to win a title. Iggy may have gotten Finals MVP, but it was the scoring of Curry who averaged 26 ppg, that powered that team. The issue with Melo is like with just about all stars, he needs other All-Star caliber players around him. He's NEVER played with a big man as good as Horford. He's NEVER played alongside a shooter as good as Kyle. And the last time he played with an All-Star caliber PG ( Billups ), he went to the Western Conference Finals. People who say that Melo can't play in Bud's system, didn't watch him much in college, or during Olympic play. Melo would flat out thrive offensively in the Hawks system, with his ability to score both inside and outside. The only question is if he could improve defensively in Bud's system. Millsap is by far and away the better defender. Splitter would have to stay healthy all year though, to maximize a Splitter - Horford - Melo lineup.

I agree. My main beef with those two, is that they had just played a game a few hours before, and had to fly a few hours to another city in the middle of the night. And instead of resting up to play the 2nd game of a back 2 back, they're rushing to a club as soon as they touch down in NYC. They didn't deserve what happened to them at the hands of the WWE-NYPD. But at the very least, they used poor judgement being out that late.

I think it's great timing for Thabo that the NYPD roughed up former Black tennis player James Blake yesterday ... unnecessarily ... in a case of ( drumroll ) ... mistaken identity. Even the NYPD Commissioner has apologized to Blake for what his cops did.

LOL. I agree that there is a little sensitivity going on here. Showing the Hawks division banner was more of them just being lazy and showing ANY division banner, than taking a shot at the Hawks. I'm all for believing "the media hates the Hawks" narrative. But on this one, this is simply them being lazy.

These franchises are taking in 1 - 4 million each game off of ticket sales alone. Plus the money they get fromy other sources, namely the multi billion dollar TV rights. No way are the players overpaid. These owners have proven that they're not losing money like they say they were. The players want their fair share of the revenue pie.

Never thought about the entire court having triangles. That may work. Charlotte's "honeycomb" court is beautiful, so a triangle patterned court could work for us.

That lane needs to be dark gray, to match the border. And put some triangles in the lane too. The red pac logo can definitely stay, unless they want to put the new logo with Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club around the pac. If all they're going to do is change the border, then yeah, that's disappointing.

Congrats to Dikembe. For a franchise that has little to celebrate, I have no problem with this. He's easily the 2nd most popular Hawk of all time, next to Nique. Now ... Koonin needs to talk the fan base into "forgiving" Joe Johnson, and get #2 up there. Fat chance at that happening though.

The Wolves though? Why them? Despite the Hawks clearly being my #1, I actively root for the Grizzlies. But that's mainly because they're the closest NBA team to me.

LOL. T-Mac was on track to be a Hawks playoff legend ( at least for one game ), had he'd been able to sustain that level of play. Having J-Rich on the team is a nice insurance policy in case young guys like Tim Jr and Bazemore falter.

And that's why I say that our rival actually Pierce, and not a team. No one player in the league riles up this fan base like that SOB, whether it be with his play, or with his actions. Team wise, the answer to this question before the start of last season, would've been the Indiana Pacers. Wade and the Heat SHOULD be our rival, but they're not a "villianous" type of squad. The same goes for Charlotte. Let's see what Washington does this year, to see if they can create a rivalry without Pierce. During the season, we waxed that team and they weren't a threat. But it was the heroics of Pierce during the playoffs, that made that series competitive. Even while he was in Boston, that team never viewed us as their "rival". But we did. And it mainly was because of our desire to beat and shut up Pierce. 2012 Pierce "Tebow" This is some Terrell Owens vs Dallas type of disrespect.

Man . . that's an indication to me that an all-black court is coming. The logo in the middle might still be red, but the rest of the court could very well be all black, with a volt and/or white scheme in the paint, out of bounds, and 3 point line. I think they're going to do something radical.

Only posting this because it was interesting. Not really a "fight", more like a shoving match. It looks worse live than it did when they slowed it down. Keep an eye on Ivan though. Hard not to love this dude's loyalty, even if he's a loose cannon and maybe not an NBA level player anymore.
