  1. And no surprise that the only pure shooter left on the roster ( Jenkins ) is making shots from the outside. Wish he was 6 - 6 and could play some defense. Oh well.
  2. Disappointed in Horford tonight. No way can you put up those types of numbers in an elimination game. All in all, a great and memorable season. But if we truly want to win a championship, we need an offensive "alpha dog" on this team that can carry us when the going gets tough. And I may as well beat this drum again. If Al Jefferson opts out of his final year, go bring that guy in so that we can have a legit center on the roster that can score in the low post, and grab defensive rebounds. Then slide Horford to PF, so he won't have to worry about being the undersized center anymore. Free Agent wish list ( in order ) ... just get 1 of these guys to add to the roster. Mark Gasol Jimmy Butler Al Jefferson
  3. "You don't win a championship with shooters. You win a championship with SCORERS, rebounding, and defense" - Cavaliers radio announce team Agree or disagree?
  4. And I'm a Mike Scott fan, and I've come around on Dennis. But the bench hasn't been good in the postseason ... at all.
  5. Also consider this. In the playoffs, starters play extended minutes. Bud in the Brooklyn series was still trying to play regular season type rotations, and it cost us a few games. It was obvious even in that series that Bud needed to give the starters more minutes, because the bench couldn't be trusted with heavy minutes in the playoffs. In the regular season, Cleveland isn't playing 4 players 40+ minutes. Millsap went 45 minutes last night. Extending the minutes of your best players is what you have to do to win playoff games.
  6. Come on now. If we were the deepest bench in the league, we wouldn't be down 3 - 0. Bud protected those guys all year by playing 3 starters most of the time with 2 bench players.
  7. Oh wow. The only difference between that and the JR Smith hit on Crowder, is that Bogut didn't go to.the ground. I've just now started watching this game I see Curry got hurt for a while. And interesting point they just made about Dwight. Had they given him a Flagrant 2, that would be his 4th of the playoffs, prompting a 1 game suspension for Howard the next game. Obviously they were aware of that, and protected Dwight for next game. Just sad. And the entire NBA fan base knows it.
  8. I was watching the game with my brother, and before they announced the ejection, I said that Bud should just walk off the court if Horford got ejected. Of course if he had done that, the league would've not only given the Hawks a 25 million dollar fine, they would've disqualified the Hawks from the playoffs and advanced the Cavs to the NBA Finals. They might even suspend Bud and any player that participated in walking off. If anything, I would've love to have seen the starters walk off the court, along with Bud, in the ultimate form of protest. Even if they did that, the league would suspend them for the rest of the playoffs, and part of next season.
  9. The beauty of the Spurs is that Duncan gave them the ability to play any style of offense they wanted. This is how great Tim Duncan is. He's AVERAGED 21 ppg - 11 rebs - 3 asst - 2 blks for his career during the playoffs. The only other player in history that can claim this, is Hakeem Olajuwon. Had blocks been kept up with back in the day, Wilt Chamberlain would probably be on this list as well. But those would be the only 3 in history that have put up those types of numbers for their playoff career.
  10. The Spurs have also gone into isolation in critical end of game situations, namely with Duncan and help from Ginobli. In later years, Parker has been the guy they went to, along with Duncan. The system works, because the system is really predicated on defense, and not offense. Any free agent who is a decent offensive player, must also be able to play defense, unless he is just an outstanding offensive player. All of those Spurs championship teams were top 3 defensive teams in the league. But they had the ability to score the basketball in critical situations. And Tim Duncan in particular has had sone absolutely monster offensive playoff games to carry the team.
  11. The ironic thing about this post, is that the entire fan base, Hawks media, and most national media, are almost begging Teague to play "hero ball".
  12. Both were on their way to having monster games, until the Horford ejection. Proud of their effort tonight. Let's see it again in Game 4.
  13. For you +/- lovers, Scott was -1 on the night. The rest of the team? Carroll +11 Teague +8 Horford +4 Millsap +1 Schröder -3 Muscala -10 Bazemore -12 Mack -13
  14. Do not opt to go with Pero in this game. Brand will at least keep the defense solid, and maybe make sound offensive plays.
  15. It's hard not to accuse the league of being rigged now. Golden State destroys Houston and looks to end the series early, so the league has to help Cleveland every way possible. So with Lebron struggling, they had to help him any way possible.
  16. I hope the national media really calls out the league for this. Just the most horrible shit I've ever seen. Let the situation been reversed, Lebron would've only gotten a regular foul.
  17. I personally can't stand the jab step pump fake that he does. Either shoot the ball immediately, or attack the rim hard. Robotic is a good way to describe his offense. Just wished he'd make a quick decision with the ball more often.
  18. I do agree that you probably have to just let lebron get his, and stop everyone else. In this series, But is acting more like Woody vs Orlando in 2010 in trying to stop Dwight ... than Larry Drew vs Orlando in 2011, who refused to double Dwight and slowed down everyone else. It'll be interesting to see how Bud coaches Game 3 without his floor spacer.
  19. I think we play the best game of this series, with Kyle out. HIM being out literally forces the "stars" of this team to do more, instead of trying to force feed the ball to Kyle for long jumpers. It also forces Bud to play more athletes instead of shooters, which is probably more needed in this series.
  20. Horford is my boy, but he gets a complete pass from the majority of the fan base, when it comes to people stepping up. Out of all the matchups, I thought Horford would have the biggest mismatch. But not only is Mozgov holding his own vs Horford, he's outworking him at times. Horford has to want to be GREAT tonight, not just part of the piece of the puzzle. So if people are asking Teague for 30 points, we should also be asking 26 points and 15 rebounds out of Al.
  21. That's exactly what he is doing. That team is playing tougher than us and he knows it. Just no respect for the Hawks whatsoever. Respect is earned, not given.
  22. Because the sequence of events happened the other way around. My initial comment stated that I wished that we had that "jerk" Lebron, so we wouldnt be down 2 - 0 in the series. He then told me to root for the Cavs lol. I'm a 31 year fan of this team. I'm not going anywhere.
  23. We need one of those All-Stars to play at least at a 2nd team All-NBA level. We need an All-Star that also has the ability to play like a superstar at times. None of our all-stars are on that level.
  24. False. If other people aren't making shots, he does very little to impact +/-. He was +7 in the 4th quarter, mainly because Cleveland was just jacking up 3s. They didn't even score in the final 3 minutes of the game, giving Antić his +7.
