  1. I agree that Moose needs to be a stronger defensive rebounder. He currently rebounds on the defensive end at a Bazemore rate. On the flip side, he's still a better defensive rebounder than Pero, and he's far and away the team's best offensive rebounder. And it's his offensive rebounding that could prove valuable if and when the Hawks go through a cold spell. And with no Thabo in the lineup, we're going to need someone on that 2nd unit who can really hit the boards.

  3. Give Moose all of Pero's minutes.
  4. Moose just needs to play well enough to take his spot.
  5. Biggest stat of the season right there. And for all of you Pero lovers, his +/- success on the court is almost directly related to playing with Thabo. I wonder whose idea it was to go out to that club? I bet it was Pero's.
  6. Hate to admit it . . . but you were right on the damn money.
  7. I'm 300 miles away, and I've gone back and forth all week about buying a ticket to the Brooklyn game because of that very reason. All of the mid priced tickets are gone ( at least on ticketmaster . . . there's a few on stubhub that are kind of overpriced ). I actually don't mind negotiating with the scalpers outside to try to get a decent ticket deal on a good seat. Now that JETSET has pointed it out, I can't remember them resting anybody at home. So I should've gone ahead and bought the ticket earlier in the week. It's not just the seats . . . it's paying for the seats + the cost and time of travel to get to the game. I'm sure he doesn't care about the price of the tickets. He just want to see the Hawks play to win and not treat it like an exhibition game, if he's going to pay top dollar.
  8. Easier to say who you'd want or wouldn't lose sleep over, if he were gone. This guy has to GO . . ASAP This guy probably has no future here, so he can go: And if he can't play everyday, he's expendable too: Regardless of what happens in the playoffs, the Hawks could still use better role players on the frontline and at the wings. So along with these 3 players, if we can find upgrades for Mack and Bazemore, that's icing on the cake.
  9. SMH @ my school. Those frat boys have always been like that though.
  10. Horford right here . . . not surprised.
  11. Oh wow. So one of the top 2 teams in the league shouldn't have NBA Finals aspirations before the playoffs start? Of course it should always be important to focus on the series at hand. But if this team doesn't make it to the Finals, the only acceptable reason is because they lost to Lebron and the Cavs. Lose to any other team in the East, and this season ( while great ) will be a huge disappointment.
  12. Do you think the Hawks can go into Oracle Arena and win a game in the NBA Finals? Hawks have only won there once since Stephen Curry has become a Warrior. That's why you play for the overall #1 seed . . . so you won't HAVE to win a game there, if push came to shove.
  13. Beating San Antonio is the last possibly psychological obstacle this team faces. At win vs Golden State ( the best home team in the league ) would be great. If I had to choose though, I'd choose a close loss to the Warriors, coupled with a win vs the Spurs. The last time we beat the Spurs? This game. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201003210ATL.html And look at who was the hero !!
  14. If it happened in the 2nd half during actual game action, there's a way you can possibly see this. NBA.com gives us the ability to watch the video play by play of everything that went on in that game. So when do you think it happened? During game action? On offense? On defense? At the FT line? During a dead ball? If it happened during game action, click on these links All of Atlanta's shot attempts http://on.nba.com/1AU9U5j All of Sacramento's shot attempts http://on.nba.com/1AUcBni If it happened in the 2nd half, like you said it did, Schröder played from 5:25 in the 3rd quarter - - - to 8:59 in the 4th quarter. So if those links work, and show the video clips of each team's shots, scroll down to around the 6 min mark in the 3rd quarter. Watch Dennis ONLY. EDIT: Those links DO work on here. And by the way, if any of you ever miss a Hawks game, this is a great way to re-watch the game. Go to the Hawks game logs, click on whatever stat you want to see, and watch everything that happened. http://stats.nba.com/team/#!/1610612737/gamelogs/ If you want to see the Hawks on defense, just look up the opposing team's game log, and watch their shot attempts.
  15. My bad. Pero is shooting 19.4% FG. I don't want to cheat him out of his .1% Not even Josh shot this bad from outside.
  16. Pero in his last 15 games: 19.3% FG 11.8% 3FG
  17. No you're not the only one. The Pero apologists are quickly running out of excuses to defend him.
  18. It depends on what Bud does with the last 5 games of the season. He'll have to at least win 64 to get home court. If he doesn't care, and want to give people sone rest, I say 61.
  19. That means no one ( at least none of the regulars ) are trolls.
  20. The more I think about the Sixers game, the more I think that this is Bud's way of saying . . . "See . . guys like Moose and Jenkins actually aren't ready yet. This is why I play Pero ( even if he is sorry offensively )."
  21. I tried to teach my work basketball team the beauty of the away from the ball double screen, but those guys were too hardheaded and didn't want to play together. They were way too worried about who was getting shots and who wasn't. Should've won the basketball league, but ended up losing in the semifinals.
  22. That's why I've been saying all along that the Hawks need to add another big to this roster. If not a big for defensive purposes, a big that can at least be productive some offensively. If Millsap or Horford were to tweak an ankle or have a minor injury in the playoffs, that could severely damage us due to our lack of quality depth behind them. A big like Andray Blatche ( playing over in China ) is definitely not known for his defense, but he is a good offensive big who can make the midrange jumper in this offense. I'd honestly rather have a vet like that coming off the bench, than to have Moose, or even Pero at times out on the floor. A guy like Blatche is honestly what the Nets are missing right now. And thank goodness, because they're not going to make the playoffs with the way they're playing. As for Bud's decision to rest guys, I don't have a big problem with that. He should always had the option to put one of the resting starters in the game though in the 4th quarter, to preserve a win.. But I think Bud wanted to see what his end of the bench guys could do vs one of the bottom feeder teams in the league. Needless to say, those guys didn't perform well at all. With all of the talk about Jenkins, it was Bazemore's ineffectiveness that also stood out. Bud has gotten the most out of these role playing guys all year. But they have to be playing around elite talent to be successful. While I think Hotlanta is overreacting a bit, his points ARE valid in concerns to home court advantage throughout the playoffs. The Sixers should be one of those games that is a guaranteed win for the Hawks. When you're resting too many guys, you turn a guaranteed win into an unnecessarily tough game. My preference would be for Bud to rest no more than 2 guys at a time. With the west coast trip coming up, it would've been nice to have another guaranteed win under our belts. Put it like this . . . when you look at the Warriors schedule, you have to figure that they maybe AT MOST lose 6 games. That means it would take the Hawks to win 64 games ( or go 15 - 5 the rest of the way . . with one of those wins having to be against Golden State ) to get home court throughout the playoffs.
  23. Great tribute to a great man. One of the iconic moments in franchise history.
