  1. North who? Surely not me.I've said from the time Ferry signed Korver to that ridiculous contract that we were a .500 team ... at best. The Nets, however, could still only win 42 games and win that sorry Atlantic division, robbing us of a chance to swap picks.Like the Lakers last year, the Nets will go on a major run when they get everybody healthy. They're built for the playoffs. The next time you say something concerning what I said, you better have a quote ready to post by me.Lol @ a dude who thought Brandan Wright was the next big thing calling me a "fanboy".
  2. I hope he turns out to be a good player. But that kid has some significant red flags about his game, mainly the shooting and the turnovers. Even his defensive reputation hasn't translated over to NBA level PGs yet. And that was the one thing I wasn't particularly worried about. But he's looked hella suspect on defense.
  3. Then he beats us last night .... smh. Brad Stephens working wonders with Jordan.
  4. If I'm Horford, I'm loving this lineup. For the first time in quite a while, Al can say that he played a significant amount of minutes at the PF spot. And instead of playing Ayón with the reserves, you get maximum worth out of him by putting him alongside Horford. Now if Millsap is cool coming off the bench, that could really add some firepower to our 2nd unit. Our bench is currently ranked 29th in Total efficiency. Lou coming back and Millsap coming off the bench. If this is the new rotation, Cartier and Schröder will be hit the hardest. And as Lou starts to get back in a groove, his minutes will increase. When that happens, guys like Korver and/or Carroll may see their minutes slightly decrease.Hopefully this lineup works, and it will be the end of any rotational minutes for Pero Antić. I know he's a fan favorite to some, simply because of his look, but the guy just isn't an NBA quality player. And poor John Jenkins. He may as well ask for a trade to a team that needs 3 point shooting, like Memphis or Utah.Let's see if Bud goes with a similar rotation tonight.
  5. PG: Teague (35) - Schröder (12) - Williams (1)G: Korver (28) - Williams (15) - Martin (5)SF: Carroll (34) - Martin (8) - Korver (5) - Scott (1)PF: Horford (15) - Millsap (29) - Scott (3) - Ayón (1)C: Ayón (16) - Horford (20) - Brand (12)
  6. The other thing to add, is that Korver can't or doesn't create his own shot. This will also justify why his shot attempts are relatively low. Also his lack of speedd and athleticism hinders him as well.So while Korver is a great SHOOTER, he'll never be a great SCORER. He's too highly dependent on other people to get him shots, whether it be via assists or via screens to get him open.
  7. Look who's ballin recently. And he's basically playing PG. And Drew said that he wasn't a PG. Looks like a decent PG to me.
  8. Speaking of the former #55 for the Hawks, I need to update his thread in the other forum.
  9. PG: Teague (39) - Schröder (9)G: Korver (36) - Cartier (11) - Teague (1)SF: Carroll (33) - Cartier (15)PF: Millsap (32) - Scott (16)C: Horford (35) - Antić (13)A tight 9 man rotation for Bud last night. Cartier Martin looks to have the 6th man role locked up as of now.Why Antić got 13 minutes in that game last night is beyond me. He needs to guard low post bigs, not guys who roam the perimeter. This should've been a 40+ minute game for Horford, but he only had 35. Play Al heavy minutes vs marquee opponents and let others do their thing vs lesser teams.Schröder only logged 9 minutes ... because he was shaky as hell. I hate to say it, but he's been looking overwhelmed lately. And if that's the case, it may be wise for Bud to sit him down for a few games, and see if Mack can bring some continuity to that 2nd team.
  10. I'll try to do this after each game, probably the morning after the game. For those of you who know about the popcornmachine.net website, you know they give a pretty comprehensive look at each game in the GameFlow section. And part of what they do is give what lineup is in a game. From that, and by watching the game, I can pretty much determine what position each player is playing at that time. Most of these will be easy to determine. Schröder will always play PG. A guy like Demarre Carroll will more than likely be the SF. And Millsap ( for now ) will probably exclusively play PF.But there will be players that play multiple positions at times. So let's see how the Bobcats game broke down.PG: Teague ( 30 ) - Schröder ( 10 ) - Mack ( 8 )G: Korver ( 26 ) - Cartier ( 13 ) - Jenkins ( 7 ) - Teague ( 1 ) - Misc ( 1 )SF: Carroll ( 34 ) - Korver ( 7 ) - Cartier ( 7 )PF: Millsap ( 26 ) - Scott ( 19 ) - Horford ( 2 ) - Misc ( 1 )C: Horford ( 29 ) - Brand ( 19 )First off, here is a quick meaning of "Misc". All that is, are the remainder minutes at that position. For example, Mike Scott actually played 19.4 minutes at PF, while Millsap played 26.3 minutes, and Horford played about 2.3 minutes at PF. In each case, I had to round down in minutes instead of rounding up, because no player was .5 or higher. So I created the Misc category for those seconds. ABOUT THE ROTATIONThe quick foul trouble that Teague and Schröder got into forced Coach Bud to very deep into his rotation, by playing Mack and Jenkins.Cartier Martin played almost the entire 1st half at SG. When the "Dreads" are in ( Cartier and Carroll ), Cartier will play SG. Bud opted to sub Cartier in for Korver instead of for Carroll in that 1st half.Korver got extended minutes at SF due to Jenkins playing SG. This also may be the case when Lou comes back.Horford got a little burn alongside Brand, but nothing significant. Bud had to get hella creative with the lineup in the 1st half, but went back with his more stable 9 man lineup in the 2nd half. Bud seems to have a set rotation he likes to go with, but will also give bench guys who are producing a little more playing time.
  11. I agree. Get him the ball there and run pick and roll with either Horford or Millsap. And if you want to screen for Korver off the ball to get him open, then do that.
  12. Now that I think about it though, maybe this is an attempt of Josh to satisfy his critics of him taking long 2s. They've always said that he'd be better off taking 3s instead of long 2s, so maybe that's what he's doing.
  13. LOL ... that's an absolutely incredible stat. 9 threes a game? But hey ... you eFG% lovers can take solace that Josh's 33% three point shooting is "effectively" 50% shooting.
  14. Started 4-1 ... then lost their next 4 by a combined 13 points ( 2 OT losses ). They had an 8 - 9 record in early December until multiple injuries started happening and the wheels fell off in December and early January. Also remember that JJ got shut down in early March of that season.Instead of a 30 win team, I think they were a 38 win team if all the injuries didn't happen. But if we made the playoffs that year, we would've lost our 1st round pick to Phoenix. So we end up with the 4th worst record in the league .. but get in the top 3 in the lottery. And we select the guy who is our current franchise player with that pick.
  15. DocJJNiqueHorfordDekeThat team is virtually perfect with scorers, rebounders, and playmakers.
  16. Can Al Horford be the man that brings some sort of joy to the city? Will the city rally around him, with no Josh Smith here? Does the city even care? Some of you wanted me to join the "dark side". Well, I'm here. There will be no passes given to Danny Ferry. Help Horford achieve his maximum potential by bringing in players who compliment him. Make HIM the focus of the team, not your precious "culture".
  17. Maybe they can do it Royal Rumble style, and send the GM's into the ring according to record. First non-playoff team goes in first. Worst record in the league goes in last. I can see it now, Boston and Atlanta missing the playoffs, and Ainge goes into the ring first, waiting for his next opponent, talking crap to him, who just happens to be Danny Ferry. Then Ferry enters the ring like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32OPyEAraU4
  18. How do you rig a draft lottery . . . Maybe weigh down some of the ping pong balls to increase the chances of the Lakers numbers to come up? Would the accounting firm inspect the ping pong balls before they go into the machine, or would they simply assume everything is on the up and up, and just be there to confirm the results? Say the Lakers try to tank, but are still good enough to only be the 6th worst team. And of the numbers combinations they possess, the most common numbers in those combinations are 2 - 3 - 11 - 12 and 14. All other balls are weighed down, and these 5 numbers are lighter, thus, making them more likely to be flying up into the lottery machine. I do find it odd that the NBA uses possibly the cheapest lottery machine possible to do this. That machine gotta be 20 yrs old.
  19. His comment to me wasn't meant for humor. I'm not worried about it though. I said what needed to be said. I'll just make sure that when my pick comes up after 10 pm, that I won't make the pick, out of consideration for others. If that makes the person behind me wait until the next day to make a selection, so be it.
  20. Right. Skip me for not PM'ing a guy at 2 am, but turned around and still did it at 7 am ( when his time on the clock would've started anyway ). Get a grip man. This isn't some life or death situation, or even something in which we're all going to win some money. We're simply doing this for fun. Most of us have lives outside of Hawksquawk and don't have time to watch this forum every 4 hours or so. I'm simply giving Cap the benefit of the doubt for it being the weekend. And maybe he had something else FAR MORE IMPORTANT to do, than to make some fantasy pick that isn't even a legit fantasy pick. If my turn comes up again, and it's the overnight, I'll make SURE to not only PM him when I make my selection, but I'll also make sure to not make an "after hours" pick at all, and use up most of my time before making my pick. That way, someone wouldn't have to be forced to make a pick at 3 in the afternoon, if they have something to do. Hell, even I could've waited until 3PM to make my pick. I might just do that next time, since you want to have a fit about it.
  21. Mr capstone21 didn't get PMed at the time I made my selection late last night. However, I did PM him this morning @ 7:08 am.Maybe the rule should be that people should get 10 hours during weekend hours. Unless you live out west or along the gulf coast, it's a great day outside. I say give cap an extension to make his pick. We do have all summer to do this.
  22. Moderator abuse of power. Calling Obama. And she wouldn't be the female that I'd want . . . this one would be, for obvious reasons https-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY__lQjsk7g Maybe she can talk to Teague about finding that "inner dog". Give her Van Exel's spot as consultant
  23. Sorry for the delay. As I was saying . . . With the 49th pick in the Hawksquawk Summer Dynasty Draft . . . Northcyde United select THE MANIMAL Kenneth Faried http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E8ryJkC-ww When you talk about energy players, no guy in the league brings as much energy as The Manimal . . aka the Poor Man's Dennis Rodman. He can run the floor like a guard, seeing that he's one of the fastest players in the league. He can get up in the air and block shots. But most of all, he can flat out dominate the boards. With an 11.5 rebound per 36 minutes number, Faried racks up both offensive and defensive rebounds. Faried led the Nuggets in Win Score/Share, with a 7.8 number, and posted a WS/48 number of .167. And he was a flat out DEMON in transition, providing the crowd with electrifying plays above the rim. With two ball-dominant scorers like Melo and Jefferson, we need players that are going to do the little things. Faried will do ALL of the little things, on both sides of the floor. Faried will instantly become a fan favorite of the Northcyde United faithful. Welcome to the squad dude C - Al Jefferson PF - Kenneth Faried SF - Carmelo Anthony G - PG -
  24. With the 49th pick in the Hawksquawk Summer Dynasty Draft . . . Northcyde United select . . . (( damn . . gotta wait about 45 - 60 minutes for the pick and the write-up. I'm about to leave work. I'll do this at home )) It will be an unexpected selection though. Edit - With the 49th pick in the Hawksquawk Summer Dynasty Draft ... Northcyde United select ... Brittney Griner I've had a huge crush on her for a while now and want her badly on my team. Told y'all it would be an unexpected selection.
  25. Larry definitely wasn't lasting past me. He basically helped me win my fantasy league in the 2nd half of the year, when Chris Bosh started playing like Christina Bosh. No worries. Surely miss JayBird isn't going to pick the player I have in mind right now.
