Looks like the Celtics may get Bogi smh....come on Schlenk give him that damn offer sheet!!!!

You actually think Travis hasn't given him an offer sheet? Really?

Logic would say the offer has been made and Bogi is considering it. We wait.

And a dude who is used to playing on championship caliber teams.  I can't see him being happy in Atlanta.  Could be wrong though....at 34 you're probably starting to see things through different lenses as a basketball player.

I'm leery too.  But we're also talking about a guy that has won multiple titles so maybe his outlook has changed a bit and he's looking for a role to give back a little of his experience and expertise?  I don't know.  I would only want him if he's committed to where the Hawks are and wants to help get to a next level.  In essence, as long as he understands the situation and wants to be a part to help then I'm fine with it at a reasonable price.

This is what I want - whoever we get just gotta be better than...Bembry, Turner, Parsons, Grabbe and Graham.

Between our already upgraded Center rotation, we need to upgrade our wing rotation.

I disagree about sitting on cash though - like TS said: overpaying the wrong FA can set back your franchise.

Cam is better than Bembry and Hunter is better than Parsons.  Give me two guys that are better than Cam and Hunter.  That's what I want.  With Cam, I don't think it will last long, but give me guys that are right now better than Cam right now and then force me to sit that guy as Cam outplays him.

I feel like NY is a massively bigger threat as they have the cap space.

I don't doubt you, but I'd question GH's motives if he's saying he wants to win and yet chooses the NYK.  Atlanta is MUCH closer to winning than NYK and could match the $.  I guess I only see NYK as viable if they offer GH some absurd number like 4 yrs and $125 or something stupid like that.  If the $ are the same, I can't see how he'd prefer NYK and that train wreck over Hawks. But I'm biased I guess.

Just reading the tea leaves, it doesn't look like it's going in that direction. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

Same.  I hate to be the negative dude - that's not really my style - but it just seems like it's heading that way.  I could actually see a scenario where Hayward listens to the Hawks, drags his feet over the weekend, and then Monday stays in Boston.  Meanwhile all the other quality players the Hawks could potentially sign end up elsewhere while Hawks wait out the Hayward decision.  We end up with leftovers and spend the next 5 weeks trying to convince ourselves that the addition of Capela and the growth of the core will be enough to somehow make this a substantially better team (and maybe it will, but I'd feel better with a few more quality NBA players).

He has generally been overpaid but absolutely an important rotation piece.

Oh I agree.  He's not worth huge dollars but on a reasonable contract, he most definitely has a role in the NBA.  He could work on the Hawks if the deal was right.  He's not my first choice but I wouldn't eliminate him from the start either.

Guy's done without Lebron as his teammate.  Stop overrating bubble performances.

And stop assuming I only go after UGA guys, that's false.

Eh.  It's true but whatever.  KCP is 27 and far from done.  He has the same limitations he's always had but he's also just as effective as he's always been.  Asserting that he's not an NBA player without LeBron is patently absurd.  He has a role in the NBA with or without LeBron.

Can KCP bring Lebron too since ... that's the reason he looked playable this past year?

Really?  So absent LeBron he isn't playable in the NBA?  Take off the blinders.  You are as bad as Alex with Michigan players.

He is a dang good player and if we continue to have this we aint gonna pay attitude nobody will come.  We are not getting any superstars now or later imo.

Truth is....Hawks have an EXTREMELY clean cap sheet.  They can afford an overpay to get a legitimate player that will help them.  Especially when you consider that next season they will be competing against numerous teams with a ton of space for players.  This off season was the time to get a deal done, imo.

Yeah today 5 EST. Only a little time left, we’ll get a better picture of what to expect today

If he Opts Out nothing will happen until tomorrow at the earliest and we'll have to wait out another day of rumors and uncertainty.  The Knicks will be rumored all day to sign him.  If he Opts in, we have to wait on a trade or else he's playing for Boston.  So no matter what, seems like we will continue to wait.

What about Teague, Hawks still want him back?

I LOVED the idea of Teague as a backup right up until Travis pulled the trigger and I watched him play earlier this year.  I think I'm done with the old guy that used to be pretty good but was never elite and is now past his prime type guys getting meaningful minutes.

oh, and let me add...Hawks are focused on making he playoffs why would we trade Capela.  The reason to trade Dedmon in a Hayward trade is to clear cap for a follow-up trade.

Just to be clear - in case it wasn't - I was in no way advocating for that to happen.  I was just saying that I could see Ainge asking for Capela.  There's ZERO reason for TS to ever agree to it.

  13. The only "concern" I would have is that the slimeball Danny Ainge would try to get Capela instead of Dedmon but there's no way TS does that, imo.  IF Supes is right and GH wants to be in ATL then the it's either Opt Out and sign with cap space or Opt In and trade for Dedmon.

  14. So as of this moment, here's where we stand, I think:

    PG:  Trae / ??? / Goodwin

    SG:  Cam / Huerter / ???

    SF:  ??? / ??? / ???

    PF:  JC / Hunter / ???

    C : Capela / Dedmon / Bruno / Okongwu

The next few days are going to be interesting.

I don’t know if this was posted, but Zach Klein says it’s either Haliburton or Okongwu tonight. He has a good track record.

Haliburton is my preference.  Just think he fits so well with Trae.

Have yall not been paying attention to Rondo over the past few years?

He'd be the best thing to happen to these guys.

    Do your homework, folks.

If I knew for sure he wasn't just looking for one last payday then I'd be on board.  I'd just be concerned this was a cash in and then he'd check out mentally if they weren't contending.  He's never struck me as a guy that wants to give back at the end of his career and help a young team get better while not competing for a title.  If that's his desire then great. Bring it on.  But if not, I'd pass and go with someone that doesn't have a history of being a bit of a malcontent.
