  1. Bogut is supposed to be a good offensive player but he is a center, and the only center in the league to average over 20 a night is Shaq. I would expect more Yao, Miller, Big Z type of offensive production from Bogut once he gets more experience. Maybe even Brad Dougherty type numbers.
  2. If we ended up with a line-up of [pick college point guard], Josh Childress, Josh Smith, Al Harrington and Andrew Bogut next year, who do you think leads that team in scoring? What about the following year? I just ask because the teams sets up similar to Detroit in that there are a number of good scorers but no great 22+ per game scorer.
  3. That is a great line-up . . . except for the fact that Murphy and Davis have significant injury histories, and Dunleavey and Foyle are not very good. Otherwise great.
  4. Jason Terry was the player of the year his senior year in college. He took and made the big shots then. Not that that says anything particular about Diaz, but it just shows there are no guarantees.
  5. You think? Rogers has been terrible this year and has missed a dozen games.
  6. That is the most positive statement you have made about the Hawks in awhile. Are you comfortable building through the draft?
  7. It is amazing that they have a better record then the Hawks, but Davis wasn't playing anyway so I don't think the trade has any impact. If anything, they get better because Dale Davis can fill in at center for the injured Magloire. Also, they have their own rookie looking to make a mark in addition to Dickau who looks to prove he is for real. The Hawks did just get rid of their leading scorer, though I don't think it will necessarily hurt the Hawks on court success.
  8. How do you figure the Celtics pick will end up between 7-14? Right now they are 16 and presumably will get better with Walker - you even said so yourself in another recent post.
  9. I guess Yogi and Gugs get cut outright?
  10. There are reports that the Hawks are getting a first.
  11. Because we do not take on bad contracts. Seriously, the Spurs first is not worth taking on Malik Rose's ugly contract.
  12. Where does Rogers play on that team? The 76ers already have Igoudala, Korver and company to man the wings.
  13. Isiah Thomas has to be the absolute worst GM in the league. That team now has at least 4 undersized power forwards.
  14. My theory - Boston wants to get more playing time for Allen and West.
  15. Childress has a long way to fo to catch Okafor and Gordon - who have to be the front runners.
  16. Quote: They say it will be Dale Davis plus some young player(s). I'm guessing Dunleavy will be part of any deal. The only untouchable is Richardson. I guess Murphy or Pietrus could be added, but I'd be surprised if Murphy were moved. Seriously, though. Have you ever seen a starting PF averaging 16 PPG but shooting 41%? I mean, that's worse than awful. You do realize that Walker is shooting 41% from the field as well? Troy Murphy is an excellent three-point shooter to boot.
  17. Quote: i'd rather get bogut and swift...murphy is a 41% power forward...i mean, cmon...41%?!?!? smoove/chill at 3/4 would average 15-20rpg combined... Don't the Hawks have a power forward with a similar shooting percentage?
  18. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that the Hawks are a relatively young team so the consistency is not there.
  19. Quote: When I posted this it was with the hope that you guys would consider Chemistry, Finance, and feasibility as well as need.... Sure Allen is the best SG, but how feasible? Like if I ask if we should trade for Webber? Sure, he's a very good PF, but 2 more yrs at 40 million... I still think Ray Allen would be the best choice.
  20. Hughes is generally recognized as a good defender. He is also a natural scorer - not a shooter mind you - but a good scorer. He also has good ballhandling skills - he entered the league as a point guard (remember, he was the tall point guard that was supposed to team up with AI in Philly). Hughes is defintely a better all around player then Johnson right now. Johnson is also a good all around player, and a much better shooter, but not on Hughes level as a defender or all around game.

    Ray Allen

I would give Ray Allen a max contract. Ray is a great shooter and very good all around player, solid citizen, etc.
  22. They have a pretty good center already - Primo Brezac. The only place for Harrington on their team is small forward - which is exactly where Williams would play. They do need a shooting guard but they are better off getting one via free agency or the draft - such as your favorite Gerald Green. As for point guard, there is a reason why Brevin Knight has not been a starter for one team on an extended basis.
