Talk about an overstatement of facts of what Schlenk actually dismantled. Wow. Schlink didn't dismantle a 60 win team. That 60 win team was already petering out by the time Schlenk arrived. Gone were DMC, Teague, Korver and Al - 4 starters from that team. Schlenk decided to not bring back the last remaining starter from that 60 win team in Milsap.

I just don't see it. Melo will be a footnote to the Hawks History. Moving Dennis has more to do with 'our potential turnaround' than Melo. It's not like Dennis could not have been traded to another team (though difficult). Sura will be more memorable to Hawks fans for robbing us a chance at drafting Dwight Howard. Melo will more be remembered for getting ousted from OKC in a salary dump and derailing the Rockets championship hopes for the 2018-19 season. Trading for Melo or not did not change drafting Trae as the PG of the future.

I disagree, selling the Lakers to LeBron was easy knowing he wanted to go there. OKC keeping PG was huge, they did an incredible job selling him the team and city considering his mind set of wanting to go home and play for his childhood team. Consider this: LAL did not even get an interview PG told Indy he was planning to sign in LAL when he became a free agent. OKC put on the full court press.
