  1. I saw Bembry at Lennox Mall last Wednesday, he was heading out as I was heading in.
  2. Bud's team was always lacking this type of player hence it relied so heavily on 'the system'. When things broke doen there wasn't a single player good enough to will a win.
  3. McGrady, Terrell Brandon, Rasheed Wallace, Jamall Crawford the 2nd time around. I only think about Melo when I'm looking at our capsheet. Otherwise he's but a blip in my Hawks Universe.
  4. And Spellman needs some work on his muscle definition - his arms have some 'baby fat'
  5. In addition, Aldridge highlighted the work of Travis Schlenk as the pivot point for the organization, indicating that “the Hawks will live or die by whether Young or Luka Doncic becomes the bigger NBA producer.” That might be slightly hyperbolic but, in terms of overall importance, it is quite fair to point out that the draft night maneuver will be the most important during the summer of 2018. Beyond that, though, NBA experts have largely lauded the Dennis Schröder swap (with one prominent exception) and, even if the Jeremy Lin trade didn’t garner universal approval, Atlanta’s other peripheral moves appear to be strong. Nothing during the offseason is ever viewed through full-blown agreement across the board but this particular evaluation gives the Hawks something of a “passing grade” and that is noteworthy from a trusted national source.
  6. I think he meant the most recent Jamaal Crawford trade, like last year when he actually played in Minny.
  7. With the 147th Selection in the 2018 Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft The Lady JayBurds select : F Larry Nance Jr Not quite as good as his Dad, yet but....He runs the floor well (1.17 points per possession in transition with the Cavs last year), rebounds well on both ends (12.1 ORB% and a 25.5 DRB% in Cleveland last year), finishes at the rim, hustles and can switch onto smaller players well enough. There are parts of his game that indicate he might still evolve into something new. The Lady JayBurds: Coach Mike 'Flew the Coop' Budenholzer PG: Kemba Walker, Dejounte Murray, Malcolm Brogdon SG: Devin Booker, Gary Harris SF: Taurean Prince, Kevin Knox PF: Giannis Antetokuonmpo, Larry Nance Jr. C: Jusuf Nurkic, Jarrett Allen, Bam Adebayo @TheNorthCydeRises will be PM'd
  8. With the 142nd Selection in the 2018 Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft The Lady JayBurds select : G Jonathan Malcolm Brogdon (I have no write up since I've had to mark off a ton of name from my little board) The Lady JayBurds: Coach Mike 'Flew the Coop' Budenholzer G: Kemba Walker, Dejounte Murray, Malcolm Brogdon SG: Devin Booker, Gary Harris SF: Taurean Prince, Kevin Knox PF: Giannis Antetokuonmpo, Bam Adebayo, C: Jusuf Nurkic, Jarrett Allen
  9. With the 142nd Selection in the 2018 Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft The Lady JayBurds select : F Jonathan Judah Isaac After an injury riddled rookie season, I'm expecting a big bounce back year . At 6-foot-11 and 205 pounds with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, he was a raw bundle of limbs with an absurd combination of length, athleticism, and skill. Considering how painfully skinny he was for a frontcourt player in the NBA, it’s not surprising that he wound up getting hurt as a rookie. Only 20 years old, Isaac is still growing into his frame, and he has benefited from spending the offseason in an NBA strength and conditioning program. He is now weighed in at 222 pounds. The most intriguing thing about Isaac is his defensive versatility. Isaac is a wing who happens to be nearly 7 feet tall. He is still figuring out just how good he can be on offense. It’s a work in progress. A tight handle doesn’t come easy with such long limbs, and there are times when Isaac struggles to create separation against athletic defenders. However, even when a defender is draped all over him, he’s still so long that he can elevate over them and create a clean look at the basket. Isaac has been making pull-up jumpers off the dribble and step-back jumpers out of the post in Vegas. I see good things for him. The Lady JayBurds: Coach Mike 'Flew the Coop' Budenholzer G: Kemba Walker, Dejounte Murray SG: Devin Booker, Gary Harris SF: Taurean Prince, Kevin Knox PF: Giannis Antetokuonmpo, Bam Adebayo, Jonathan Isaac C: Jusuf Nurkic, Jarrett Allen

  12. No, i think because we had no real shot at Ayton.
  13. NO one can ever convince me (and I don't need direct quotes on this one, it's not rocket surgery) that knowing what Budenolzer likes to do on the court he was a staunch advocate of signing Dwight Howard (in lieu of Al) - that moved stripped the entire identity of the Hawks and Bud's free flowing offense....that falls to Ressler and Koonin - it was all marketing - Hometown kid returns to his roots, blah blah blah.
  14. I'm fine with the pace this time around. I guess since we have fewer teams. If we had more teams where people constantly miss then than gets annoying real fast.
  15. https://hawksquawk.net/community/topic/407405-tales-from-coachx-justin-anderson/#comment-949392 Who did we picknat #15 that year? Oh yeah, Kelly Oubre but then we traded him for THJr who is no longer here. He turned out better than RJ Hunter who hasn't stuck in the NBA.
