  1. That would not have been a good deal to dump Baze AND move down 2 spots in the draft without the 2019 1st included.
  2. I'm not sure why this thread (just this one) all of a sudden is not loading on my phone, so I lost my entire write up or my pick would have already been in. Anyway.... With the 3rd Selection in the 2018 Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft The Lady JayBurds select Jarrett 'JaFro' Allen. At just 20 years old, Allen is about 6-foot-11, or 7-foot-2 counting his impressive afro. With his headband and mustache (which appears to be the result of Allen’s inability to grow the requisite connecting facial hair for a goatee), he’d fit comfortably in the long-haired ABA, some 40-plus years ago. Allen also jams like those former ABA flyers, soaring high enough last season to clear Chicago’s 7-footer Lauri Markkanen for a Dunk of the Year candidate. Allen has the makings of a dominant shot-blocker, and though the modern NBA demands more than that from its centers, Allen has a chance to be more. Defensively, Allen believes he'll one day be capable of switching onto guards, allowing the Nets to oppose small-ball lineups with a legit 6'11" center. On offense, Allen makes his money moving within the paint. The Nets, says head coach Kenny Atkinson, "all love playing with him because he's gonna sprint into a screen, hit somebody and roll." Allen finishes lobs emphatically. Otherwise, he likes to hang by the rim while ball-handlers do their thing, and if a bounce pass or wraparound handoff comes his way, Allen will collect with soft hands and dunk it home. @turnermx is up and will be PM'd
  3. Say whaaaaat?? I came into this thread thinking one thing, it's devolved into something from another thread so my intention was just to back out the thread. I had my fill and said my piece in that thread. I don't doubt that Schlenk had previous discussion with Morey or any other GM since Bazemore has been on the trade block since the trade deadline last year.
  4. I think Houston is over the cap so rhey don't have space to take back all our salary without taking back equal salary. Without the Hawks taking back at least equal salary.
  5. Anderson and Baze's contract run the same length, 2 years so no year earlier capspace.
  6. JayB - all excited Melo finally bought out and we got a lil something back... JayB...after reading all this....
  7. Per the article, Why would the Hawks not want Hill from NOP? He's making less than Anderson in the same 2 years. The NOP 1st round pick would be better than the Rockets 1st unless NOP isn't offering a 1st? Or do they really want Anderson to fill the backup PF slot instead of a wing?
  8. The only salary filler is Anderson and he's making a hair more than Bazemore. Unless we are getting something worthwhile I don't get this. If we an somehow send Plumlee along I'd take back Anderson, the Hartenstein kid they just signed (can't be traded until aug. 24th) Melton and 2020 1st unprotected.
  9. I agree Soth and here's why... I've seen all the stats of last seasons position players vs this seasons and why we should be better. I agree that overall the talent crop is better but there will be growing pains. Younger players with more playing time and a first time head coach. Here is my concern at PG, we are hoping that Lin is actually healthy and can play effective minutes coming off a major injury and be the Lin of 2 years ago wether that's starting or coming off the bench to aid in Trae's development. Last season despite whatever the stats say we had health and experience at PG. If Lin isn't back until December, what then? IMO if the Hawks exceed expectations it's because Prince has a carry over from the 2nd half of last season and John Collins SL showing translates to the regular season. They both need to show major strides defensively for the next step in their development.
  10. With the 48th Selection in the 2018 Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft The Lady JayBurds select Taurean Waller-Prince of our Atlanta Hawks. If the last half of last season is any indication, Prince is ready to take the step step offensively. He has a money 3-ball and with his growing comfort in running the offense either to make a play for himself or others on the upswing, I have high hopes for him this season. He must maintain his focus and tenacity on defense and rebounding to take that next step for his all around game. @TheNorthCydeRises will he PMd
  11. Sorry guys, had family pop in. It's late and I'm tired. With my next Selection in the 2018 Hawksquawk Dynasty Draft The Lady JayBurds select Jusuf Nurkić - Center. He's a big body, great in the PnR, he offeres decent post defense and rim protection. He's my dirty work guy in the middle. PG - Kemba Walker SG - Devin Booker SF/PF - Giannis Antetokounmpo C - Jusuf Nurkić
  12. I hate yall. Imma take my ball and go home. Adams, now Capela - me searching my now little board
