HAWKS FREE AGENT UPDATE: Schlenk on local radio this morning: 1. Still sitting back - won't sign anyone until next week to fill out roster 2. Still want to use capspace to acquire bad salary for picks. Short term salary only. 3. Not actively shopping anyone but taking calls, mostly about our capspace. 4. Talked about youth of our roster,adding 3 picks this year, then hopefully things go as planned next year to add 3 more draft picks, then he'll be ready to 'push his chips in' to go after free agents. That's the plan, but he'll see how it shakes out.

They are more worried about their 'brand' and they don't want to be the Karl Malone and Charles Barkley's of their generations - great players that never won a ring. I hate that mind set and the games are diluted now.

I'm not saying he couldn't blow by anybody. Just talking about his ability to absorb contact and play through it. Prince's 1st year, he would drive the ball but couldn't complete the shot if he had contact, this year was much better. Body just needs developing.

I wanted us to keep Doncic, but Trae is a Hawk and I'm rooting for his success. I was hoping Trae would have a John Collins-esque Summer League debut, but it's one game AND it's summer league. Shooting and shot selection was downright atrocious. However, he did some good things otherwise: he got to the freethrow line, when he actually ran the offense he looked good, he moved his feet in man to man defense and didn't look as horrible as I thought he would. ONE GAME!!! Game 2 tonight - let's see how that goes.

That's more of a lack of man strength not his handles. He's just not yet able to absorb contact and play through it. That will take time.

He's supposed to be back in Dec/Jan. All GSW needs to do is get him ready for the last month of the season and the playoffs.
