  1. PlayoffRhondo is slightly better than PlayoffPee.
  2. Dang, word is MIL will interview Becky H. Budenz not among the first batch of interviews it seems. Say where they're expected to see upwards of 10 candidates so he'll probably get a courtesy sitdown. Maybe he can be Becks' replacement in SAS?
  3. Being desperate for 'playoffs' is what led us into the cycle of being 'so good but no good'. Signing guys to big contracts out of fear, not because they deserved them. I don't like the tanking process either but I get we needed to reboot. That's all this is ... hopefully.
  4. I think Master Peo is a bit biased against Budz but I don't think he's totally wrong in his theory that Budz may end up not taking a job this offseason. And I don't think it's a sure bet that he lands the MIL job either. All the rumors have suggested that Budz did indeed target the Knicks job, btw, although I do agree it seems a mismatch with his personality. Lastly, MIL quietly has a pretty meddlesome management situation so it's not like there's no BS to wade through there. Just my 2 cents.
  5. I don't think they've technically fired Prunty yet but Woj said they're expected to speak to Clifford, Budz and Blatt. Fitzdale was on the list before yesterday as well. Now get back to work. That ditch isn't gonna dig itself.
  6. Nah, SAS will probably lose atleast one of their guys to ORL or CHA. Budz will slide in right next to Becky next year as the HCIW.
  7. Yep. Neither are good fits considering he (a) wants to win (thus ORL wld be out) and (b) can't possibly be looking to coach Dwhine Howard on a worse conceived roster than ours was. He was probably counting on places like LAC, POR and WAS opening. Oh well. He's in a game of musical chairs and the music's about to stop but the only open chair is that one Ricky had an 'accident' in (ewww). If you're him, do you sit in it or do you just give up and go get another slice of birthday cake?
  8. Well, I'm new here so I don't know firsthand ... but something tells me you've never really been on the Budz-wagon. Perhaps that has something to do with how you feel now? Seriously though, you're not completely off but I suspect the lack of interest has more to do with which openings are out there. NYK apparently wanted a young(ish) guy, PHX probably wanted a tank-friendly guy. MIL is moving into a new building and, rumor has it, want a 'name' coach which may/may not be a fit for Budz.
  9. You said a mouthful there, Peo. Isola said on NBARadio that he was hearing Bud wanted the NYK job. TIFWIW. I kinda think Budz is gonna end up back on Pop's staff now that the Knick job has been filled. Pop steps away in a year or so, concentrates on USABball, leaves the Spurs in Budz' hands.
  10. Oladipo had a rep for being a gym rat. A hard-working, good culture guy. I don't know what Elfrid's rep is but .... that hairstyle lets me know decision-making isn't a strong suit for him. Rumor has it that he's actually cut it but there's no picture evidence yet. We'll see.
  11. It was way more than that IMHO. They also invested in the wrong dudes pick-wise. I mean, they went all-in on something called Elfrid Payton.
  12. That's an interesting point. I didn't want us to tank but I understand why we did. And, now that we're here, shiiiii .... why whine about it. I like the Jazz team, how the play, etc. I like that they're not a team that bottom'd out and all that. That said, we can't be prisoners of the moment. Let's not forget, them dudes were well under .500 much of the season. To their credit, they've put it all together at the right time. Prospects for the future? They're basically the west-Hawks with a slightly higher ceiling due to Mitchell's potential for greatness. Then again, he could simply be their JoeJohn. A guy destined to keep making all-star teams but having that 2nd round ceiling in the playoffs. We don't know right now. We certainly don't know enough to hold them as the shining 'don't-tank' example.
  13. I can see us going after the Simmons kid with one of the late 1sts. Wouldn't be a bad gamble assuming we can continue our emphasis on development. Hearing Silas was, in some way, in on the Warriors guards' development is an encouraging sign.
  14. But is it the saaaame cageyone? ... also, shout out to @Spud2nique as well. He bak too
  15. I wouldn't be shocked but I'd for dang sure be pissed.
