Hard not to be excited by how Mo Gueye looks. The big thing is that he looks polished as hell.
There's no way he's been playing basketball for only four years.

Gueye is way too skilled to be so inexperienced.

Ah, he'll be fine. He's in good hands so as long as he's willing to work they'll find what he can do well and will build from there.
He'll be more than fine. Another 10-15 pounds and he will be virtually unstoppable.

Only took me seeing him in one quarter of play but, it's official.
I am a Gueye man.
How'd this guy fall to the 2nd round when all these high-class dregs went in the 1st?
He was definitely a Lottery talent in this Draft. It was pretty weak.

I would've liked to see Gueye get featured a little more on offense with the AJ struggling just to see what else he has in his bag offensively.

Bufkin isn't afraid of contact. That wasn't the best business decision.

Man, this dude should have went in the top 5
In this weak draft, top 10 at least.

Playing out of position. Still has a deadly middy game though.

AJ's handles are sick. Wow
He looks a little lighter on his feet as well.

There was something about the Hawks picking him at #15.
I saw that. It sounded ridiculous at the time, but I totally get it now. There's something special there.

Gueye's handle at 6'11" is serious. He's a lottery level talent.

Just keep the dribble alive Bufkin.

Our scouts worked out gueye last year. We basically bought a pick which we never do. So, someone saw something special in him.
He looks like a first round talent out there.
He has that "it " factor. Didn't expect to see that out of a 2nd Round pick.

Ooh, that touch on the j.
That was too easy like he could get that shot any time he wants. They need to feed him.

Gueye looks REALLY smooth for a 6'11" guy.

Maybe because he's provided us with 3 or 4 of the greatest moments we've witnessed in our lifetime as Hawks fans?
If Dominique is forever going to be remembered for his stellar Game 7 performance vs Boston . . that he lost . . Trae is forever going to be remembered for his heroics in the 2021 playoffs.
We hope that is not the peak of his career while in Atlanta. But if it is, he's still given us more postseason joy than anyone that has put on the jersey not named Bob Petit.
He'll also be remembered for his heroics against Boston during game 5 in Boston. He willed the Hawks to a win on the road to avoid the gentleman's sweep.

Remember when fans were livid at a Lauri for Collins swap a couple of years ago... Ah, memories.
Would definitely like a do-over on that one.

That is definitely a big exception. Being able to add $25M in salary gives you some real flexibility -- if you are actually interested in doing that.
If indeed. It's hard to read this organization right now. They can just as easily sign an emergency big and say it was their plan to start JJ all along while conveniently pocketing the remaining $$$.

Agreed. I don't want to hear about any huge deals that "almost" got done after this salary dump to get the $25 mil exception. Just get it done. I need to see something to make me believe they are serious about improving the team.

I'm not sure if this deal was made as a precursor to another larger deal, but in a vacuum, this looks really bad.

Not sure how to embed video but I get why Landry made this pick. He doesn't have a lot of weaknesses to his game besides being a little left hand dominant. He will take time to develop physically though.

That is good. I just saw he didn’t average 3 assists last year. Not sure how that is possible. Was assuming from the highlight passing real that he was more of a creator.
He's a SG that can facilitate. He doesn't look out of place handling the ball at all.

From the highlights on him, I agree that I’m not seeing the comparison at all and that is a good thing. What I’m most curious to see is if Kobe can really play SG or if he is more like Dejounte where he is better situated to guard opposing points. He does look to have some solid vision and passing skills.
He has a more natural looking three ball than Murray at 19. His game within the three point arc looks identical to Murray's. I think his handle in traffic looks a lot better as well.
