I find it funny how this learning curve stuff applies to everyone in the league except for our own players. Oden just looks lost out there. He is soft. Those knees and ankles aren't going to get better over time.

I think that at this point in time Marvin is better than Chillz. I will go as far to say that the gap between Smoove and Marvin is shrinking daily. I don't think MArv is expendable. Bibby and Marv will earn their contracts in the post season if ASG has the money. They maybe a little more careful this summer because a lot of guys (Smoove, Iggy, etc.) got overpaid. I just don't see Marvin asking for a whole less than what Smoove got. The Smoove that supposedly earned the contract and the Smoove that is cashing the checks now is not the same player.

I am surprised that this hasn't been brought up before around here. With the money problems that the ASG are having do they have enough to pay Bibby and Marvin. Don't forget I think that Horf will be up next season as well for an extension. It would be a shame if we lose all this progress because these guys are broke!!!

They traded for severely damage goods and Beasely has been a bust so far. They damn sure better not catch us. I doubt O'neil or Wade stay healthy and even if they did I think that we can still beat them.

What do you guys think about them so far? Horf has the better EFF at this point in time. But he plays more minutes due to Oden's foul trouble. This is kind of related to another thread but I had a question. We all see how Devin Harris is tearing it up in New Jersey while he didn't exactly tear it up in Dallas and how Conley is starting to get more minutes he is producing that leads me to the point of are players being fairly evaluated when there are so many things that factor into the equation as to how good a player is. For instance how do we know that Marvin and Smoove couldn't score 25 ppg a game if JJ and Bibby weren't here or we had another coach. Now look at Acie Law's situation up until recently he wasn't getting any minutes to improve but we expect him to produce like Stuckey in Detroit even though Stuckey starts and controls the ball and will look for his own shot. We brought Marvin, Smoove, Chillz, Horf here with no intentions of either being the "man" so it isn't fair to compare Smoove or Marvin to D. Granger because he was brought in to (and eventually became) be the man and to take a majority of the shots. To me the best comparisons of players would be Deron Williams and Chris Paul both are pg's and both were brought in to lead and be the man on their teams. There situations are nearly identical but you rarely hear them compared we continue to get (although dying down now) Marvin vs Paul. People forget that Deron Williams was drafted after Marvin. Seeing how things have played out here I am starting to see way BK wanted to can Woody. Woody is not putting out players in a consistent environment to be successful. Our guys for the most part are playing the role that they were given to play and that is 3, 4, 5 options on a team. I had to catch myself when I was wondering why isn't Marvin or Smoove putting up 20ppg by now but then I considered that we got Bibby and he is a shoot first pg so the trickle down effect would be stagnant ppg for everyone. I mean Horf is averaging nearly the samething that he did last year we having Bibby taking more shots and Smoove and Marvin have become better rebounders. Look at Diaw, George Mason, Stephen Jackson, Jason Terry etc players who got better when they got into better situations. I mean this also applies to players like Rondo who are in great situations but think that they are better than they really are. I think that Andrew Bynum will eventually end up in that category as well.

I think that we should just play the best b-ball we can play it don't think that it should matter who we play. I truly feel that when we play like we are suppose too we can beat anyone and I mean anyone Cleveland, Boston, etc. We are pretty much locked into the playoffs and I think that Woody needs to fine tune this team to be successful in the playoffs and not prepared for a first round knockout. He needs to start running plays for other players (Marvin, Smoove, Horf) because regardless of who we play the JJ and Bibby chuck show won't cut in a seven game series especially when there will be a high probability that one of them will be ice cold. I mean how many times this season have they both been hot from the field at the same time and if so the other players don't have the opportunity to get something going and get complacent. Woody has got to get some things figured out because we are looking like probable first round exits regardless of who we play and what seed we are. In a way I think that the Boston series was easy for Woody because we had nothing to lose but this year we will be expected to win and that my friends changes everything. We got 30+ games to get this team ready and JJ won't make it in a grinding series playing 48 minutes a night. We are too inconsistent to sweep anyone the way we are playing right now.

Maybe it's the fact that they can win at Minnesota and Charlotte (without Joe Johnson) before getting hammered at home by the Clippers (without Mike Bibby). Or maybe it's the middling defense they play for a coach who constantly preaches it. Simply put, the Hawks are as good, or bad, as their effort.

I keep reading how half the league is positioning themselves to become big spenders in the 2010 free agency market. Everyone is making room and moves to be in position to sign the big 4 free agents. Most teams are going to have alot of money to spend and the big 4 will be gone. 2 and 3 tier players (scrubs) are going to get huge contracts and then teams are going to realize they blew their money (ie Dampier, kenyon Martin, Speedy type deals) when the players don't deliver. My point is that JJ will probably get a huge offer I am talking Elton Brand money. I think that the decision on JJ may need to be made this season. We got Marv, Horf, and Smoove and possibly Acie to pay. Man the league will go to the dogs after that season!!!

What's wrong is that he got his money. I told you all last summer that Smoove is the type of player that would slack off when he got paid. As you can see I was right. He wants to play a finesse game but he isn't smart enough to do so. Marvin is slowly showing himself to be the better player.

I agree about JJ. So it is more important for JJ to make the allstar game at the expense of our team. I hope that those games the Woody played him extended minutes even tough we were losing don't comeback and hurt us in the later part of the season.

I know that there are a few JJ threads on here but for the most part many of you will blame Marvin, Smoove, Bibby, Flip, Zaza and even Horf but for some reasons JJ gets a pass. His shooting percentage and his amount of shots taken have lost us more games than anyone on the team. But yet many of you want to leave him out of the equation when the "What's wrong with us" threads. I mean we all know that Woody is an *ss clown. It is obvious that JJ is tired and maybe injured but HE needs to tell Woody to cut him some slack. But he needs to make it to the allstar game so he will continue to play damn near that whole game. With the way he has been playing I really don't think that he deserves to be an all-star. Right now he isn't much better than a supposedly washed up Vince Carter. A man has got to know his limitations. If Woody subs in Flip for JJ and Flips is lighting it up JJ needs to stay his *ss on the bench the same with Bibby. It like no matter what is working we always revert back to the same ol crap. Like when Marvin is hot Woody doesn't go to him anymore. I think I am starting to realize why Smoove does what he does when he takes bad shots. In Woody's system that is the only way you are going to get a shot you have to take out side on the play. Woody's job is to get us wins not to worry about making JJ an allstar. The later should be a product of winning. I don't think that we need to trade the guy but his role needs to be evaluated if we are going to ever be an truly elite team. Lebron is playing the fewest minutes of his career but the team is having a great year.

Barbosa was guarding Marvin in the 4th and Woody insists on his iso JJ play. He wnt to Marvin only one time in that matchup. They felt comfortable because they knew that it was going to be the JJ Isolation show in the 4th. Joe hasn't been shooting well in like forever but Woody insists on forcing him the ball in the 4th. We have enough weapons where we should suffer while JJ tries to shoot himself out of a slump. JJ has only 16-17 good shooting games this year. The rest have been piss poor. He needs to take less shots and let others take those shots. Last ten games he is shooting 35% while taking most of the shots. We can't win those numbers. It's okay to beat up on CHicago, Milwaukee, and the CLippers with those numbers but this is not cutting it. He was 5 for 20 tonight. He may need to rest for 2-3 games because something is wrong.

Even though I am a republican it will be a great day tomorrow. I was raised and to this day believe the most people are not racists but that the racist are the loudest ones. His unwillingness to adapt. I mean he is so predictable that it isn't funny. 1. Same Substitution patterns regardless of who we are playing. 2. Leaves JJ and Bibby in the game too long. You know JJ is tired when his jumpers clink off the front of the rim. 3. Refuses to try different in game lineups. 4. Playing time isn't used effectively. There are some nighst when I tell myself Acie would get to the rim at will on this team or solo should get some clock only to watch them sit on the damn bench while our starters drag up and down the court. 5. refuses to run anything resembling an offensive set. Give the ball to JJ and get out of the way. I mean we really don't need a pg in his offense. 6. He lets the players get complacent (See Marvin and Smoove) 7. He seems to loves guys that he really doesn't have to coach (Bibby, Flip, JJ) I mean sometimes I feel that we win despite of Woody. We are ina rut right now but Woody has got to change if we are ever going to be a truly elite team. We have the talent to play with anyone but we got a coach who can't adjust. His lack of making adjustments is the main reason why I can't see us beating a team in a game seven.
