  1. We didn't have Joe Johnson when Josh was a rookie and don't forget that Josh started nearly every game after the allstar break because we traded Walker. It is amazing how soon people forget. Josh productivity should have been higher he played way more minutes and there were alot more shots and opportunity to go around. You can't compare their situations. When MW started he put up better numbers than Josh (outside of the blocks). Bottom line whether you like Marvin or not he wasn't given the same amount of play time as other rookies but when he did start you saw what he could do especially after the allstar break.
  2. You are right. Marvin probably has the best jumper on this team so why would he need to work on his outside shot. The only thing that he has to really work on is his post moves. I hate it when you guys try to demean him.
  3. We would be getting ripped off because Magloire is heading back to his hometown pf Toronto when his salary expires.
  4. 27) Atlanta (26-56) - Al Harrington is probably gone. So it's Joe Johnson and about 12 long, tall swingmen, none of whom are particularly good yet. If the Hawks draft a shooting guard or small forward, the team's fans might have to storm the office and take over. I got this off of insidehoops. com team rankings.
  5. He does have a knack for eyeing up talent that others seem to overlook.
  6. Yo are right dude. Am I missing something or does AL and Peja play the same position. Don't say that Peja can play the the 2 because he will get torched every night. AL for JO just doesn't make sense like I said before they wanted him to play with JO. I am wondering if maybe we can get in on a three way involving Peja. I can't believe that the Pacers sat on that trade for so long before they pulled that trigger. I don't think that they really wanted him because they tried to work several other deals before finally giving up. Maybe if a third team is invloved that wants Peja we can work something out and Indiana would end up with AL. Just a thought!
  7. Delk could have helped us out but for some reason still not known he sat on the bench. Looks pretty healthy with the Pistons!!!!
  8. I totally agree with your comment Diesel. It is like when guys put on a Hawks uniform they just underachieve. Why not let Boris be the type of player he wanted to be if it helped the team it was not like he was going to take 30 shots a game. I mean damn he plays within the team. Instead of looking what a player can't do a true coach would capitalize on what a player can do. You work with what you got you don't whine about we need this and we need that or he can't do this or he can't do that. Just make do with what you got a good coach can make it work some kind of way.
  9. I look at all the players that we have lost and who are doing well in the playoffs. I mean honestly guys we have had some talent here in Atlanta. While we have helped other teams have win championships with ex hawks we haven't really improved that much. I mean even though we doubled our wins this year we should have more to show for the talent that we have had and traded away from here. I am a true fan but you have to get upset when you see guys who we all knew could play the game end up blossoming somewhere else while we remain cellar dwellars in the league. I know that I should be glad for what we have and I am but I just feel that we should have more to show for the talent that we have given up. We haven't had one established coach here in years (since Lenny). The coaches that we have had were unproven coached and had unproven systems and when the players that we didn't fit into there systems they got traded. If we would have gotten better coaching from the start we would be than we are now. We still don't know if Woody is the right fit.
  10. I still don't think that JO is the answer. If we are going overpay i wouldn't mind overpaying for a superstar who will atleast bring the fans out (ie Iverson). JO has too many years left on his contract. He probably will only make us marginally better if at all. He is not a franchise player.
  11. I haven't seen a better game this year. Score is tied 90-90 right now.
  12. I found it alittle strange they talked about the future of the Hawks and only mentioned JJ, JS, JC, MW, ZP, and SS. They made no mention of AL. I know that he is a free agent but I think that the owners already know what it would take to keep him. HIs agent has had to speak with the Hawks if he wanted to stay. My thought is whether or not something has already been worked out with someone.
  13. BUSTED BUSTED BUSTED BUSTED. I wonder how the great Diesel is going to talk his way out of this one. Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!!
  14. No way we trade Marvin. He is a superior player to Smoove outside of the blocks. He is a better rebounder and scorer that Smoove. He is alot smarter than Smoove as well.If one of the two need to be traded I say get rid of Smoove. My hope is that we can keep both of them and left both of them start. They can be deadly together.
  15. I mean we all knew that Chris Paul would be at least an average NBA pg but Marvin is/was pegged as someone who can be one of the best players in the league. I am no scout but just watching him play you know that he has the tools to be something special. Marvin is a special player there is no doubt about that. Marvin with one year of college isn't a raw basketball player that is going to require alot of work. All he needed was alittle playing time and you see what he can do. I am calling it right now: HE WILL SURPASS ALL OTHER PLAYERS ON THIS TEAM NEXT SEASON AND WILL BE THE SECOND BEST PLAYER ON THIS TEAM NEXT TO JOE JOHNSON BUT HE HAS TO START OR GET MAJOR MINUTES. Woody seemed to have learned from his mistake of yanking the rooks when they make a mistake.
  16. That was well said. Many NBA franchises have been ruined based of can't miss/sure fire/all-star/superstar potential. I got the potential to be the first man on Mars but we know that is not going to happen. But seriously I think that most GM's don't want to miss out on the next big superstar and lived to regret it.
  17. I agree. I think that we should not completely close the door of an JJ/JC backcourt. I think that they may have given up on it too soon last season.
  18. That isn't a very good comparison because a football player proves his worth on the field of play. I have never heard of a football player being drafted on potential but rather on productivity and ability.
  19. You make a good point but what are you willing to give up to get an All-star player.
  20. SO if Al went to chicago he would play PF right?
  21. If he doesn't make a difference for them what makes you think that he can make a difference for us. I mean the playoffs is where you earn your money right. If he is coming up short as a pacer why would he all of a sudden be a megastar, clutch, jordan-like player. It is obvious that he is overpaid for what he brings to the table. I don't want him here for that money that he is making. No way.
  22. that the move should be one that is designed to get us into the playoffs next season instead of 1 or 2 seasons down the road. It is obvious that we could probably make that playoffs next season with the lineup that we have now (7 or 8th seed). Trading Al or signing anyone else would have to be done for the sake of making the playoffs next season without a doubt. We don't need anymore draft picks we need productive players.
  23. Will David Anderson and/or Cenk Ayol be coming over next season. Seeing that pg and C are our biggest needs we need to see what these guys are capable of. They maybe quality players.
