Payne has great jumping ability and very nice hustle. He appears to be a very good teammate as well. Once he gets his shot falling consistently, he's going to be a nice player. He will need to develop some better defensive traits along the way.

That was a hyperbole. What you made was an opinion that is flat out wrong. 

A person's opinion cannot be right or wrong regardless of whether you agree or disagree with it.

My opinion is that score-first point guards are not conducive to good team basketball.

Edit: And I will accept Tony Parker leading the Spurs, but he is not scoring 20+ like Rose. I just feel that is a hindrance rather than a plus for a team. 

Just to be fair on the scale of injuries the Bulls without rose were better than we were without Horford. And they added Gasol and Dougy mcbuckets.

So if we're in a world where rose can't play, we should probably assume Horford can't either. Just for the sake of fairness.

The Bulls are better without Rose. If your point guard is your highest scorer, you're doing it wrong.

But he is a highlight player, so everyone loses their minds for him.

Well at least Ivan Johnson pulled down 3 boards in 29 Summer League minutes.

I seriously doubt he was kept.

Pero didn't shut Hibbert down. That guy had been playing horrible for a 2 month stretch. Hibbert was self-checked. Some of you are acting like Pero isn't expendable. We can find someone in the D-League better than Pero.

Hell, Muscala may be better than Pero. And if he isn't, blame the GM for that selection as well.

The fact that you have to get to the Washington series to pump up Hibbert is even more testament to how much Pero meant to the team. He played terribly on offense in the series, but shut Hibbert down. It took seven games for Hibbert to even look like he had a pulse. 

Hibbert shot 37% for the series. He's an All-Star. He was playing against our third (maybe fourth) string center. Pero even out-rebounded Roy. Pero made 1.2 million. Hibbert is being paid $14 million.

Not a bad ROI for a guy that was slated to play very sparingly for the team as a late roster filler.

He made 94k his 1st year in San Antonio and even last year only made 3.8 million.

I'd say the ROI there was worth it.

Like someone said earlier.   If Thabo and Bazemore were the final 2 signings of free agency, maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal.  But when those guys could possibly be the first two that are signed, which may prohibit a deal with a significant higher priced player . . . it's just disappointing.

 

It's like missing out on getting the hot girl at the club . . . and settling for the OK looking fat girl at the end of the night.

I have always found that having a group of 5's readily available and willing is better than the effort and stress it takes to maintain having a 10. At the end of the day, the 10 is just there to show off to your friends and you deal with their bullshit. After a while, you realize it just wasn't worth the time, effort and money.
