  1. That, settling for jumpers too much, and NEVER hustling back on defense. Reef was a good #2 or 3 but was never going to make it as a main option. Watching him infuriated me at times. He never hustled.
  2. Not a whole lot of options do. I'd be for it simply because he played with the Heat and he'd add a lot to the second team offense.
  3. And how many of those three blocks gave the Hawks a possession? Swatting it into the 4th row and giving the other team a re-start is not productive.
  4. Mark this down on your calendars, people...I agree with Hotlanta here. Josh is not a great player, yet in his mind, he is. He has to go.
  5. It looks like Al Harrington is part of the deal as well. That is a huge sticking point.
  6. Josh Smith an elite defender? On what planet? Anyone who can shoot abuses him because he hates playing any defense outside of 8 feet. He blocks shots, but more than half of those go back to the other team because instead of blocking them to prevent baskets, he blocks them into the 8th row to make a highlight reel. He can't dribble or handle the ball, he has ZERO basketball IQ, he pouts, and he doesn't buy into the system at all. Sometimes I could fry an egg in the time it takes him to cross half court on defense. All the talent in the world and he won't play a team game. It is frustrating to say the least. But he gets a pass by fans because he is flashy and sometimes puts up a big box score.
  7. Trading Josh Smith would help get the Hawks closer to contending. Just saying.
  8. Seven seconds left on the shot clock when he caught it. He doesn't, and never will, get it.
  9. Yeah...that would have close that 20 point deficit and put them over the top. Keep dreaming.
  10. Just like always, Josh doesn't really get it. At this point I believe he never will. All the talent in the world...very little regard for fundamentals, behavior and acumen. Very frustrating player.
  11. If Horford is hitting his open jumpers, we win that one walking away. I like the amount of open looks we got.
  12. Left this site for a long time. Decided to check in this morning and see what was going on. Looks like not much has changed.
  13. I love the NBA and watched every televised Hawks game on the package last year, but I am considering it. I will not cancel Sunday Ticket because I am too die hard about the Falcons. I am just envisioning my bills with both packages going up this year (NFL is up to $300) and I am thinking of just waiting until mid-season to decide whether it will be worth it.
  14. Josh lacks basketball IQ. Plain and simple. Whether it is leaving his man wide open to try to make a Sports Center highlight, yelling at refs instead of hustling, getting technicals late in the game to cost us valuable points, or simply taking awful shots...the guy just doesn't get it. He has good numbers and I'd trade him in a heartbeat. His value is high, and I say find some sucker to take on the man-baby.
  15. If we could find a way to get either Harris ir Lopez, I'd be ecstatic. I am very happy to know Sund has been active on the open markets.
  16. When I see Jason Collins in the first quarter, I see a coach that is playing scared. Even though it kinda worked, it still shows that the team is throwing their hands up and saying "we can't beat them with our normal tactics."
  17. I don't see it that way. He gets an opportunity and he takes it. He's been a solid guy and gives good effort. He's not afraid to dive for loose balls and follow shots in traffic. I'd miss him.
  18. It's the thought that counts? You do know this is professional sports, right?
  19. What years did Barkley play SF early with Philly? Maybe he shifted a when they had Mahorn (Thump N Bump!), Barkley and Gilliam on the floor at the same time.
  20. Don't call us "folks". You sound like a smarmy teacher talking down on a bunch of kids.
  21. We already have one white guy. Do we really want 2?
  22. SAR only ever put up good numbers on bad teams. His numbers were doctored in Vancouver by statisticians. He was lazy and frustrated me to no end. Numbers be damned, he made nobody around him better. Never was going to be a #1 player on a team. I expected him to be better and was very disappointed. Better: Steve Smith Mookie Blaylock Stacey Augmon Josh Smith Andrew Lang (I thought he was going to be REALLY bad but he did OK) Snoop Graham Mike Bibby Worse: Acie Law Chris Washburn Travis Mays Theo Ratliff Tony Delk JR Rider Danny Manning
  23. I have considered Hawks/Celts a rivalry since the 1987-88 season.
