  1. Well if nothing else, we now have him in a contract year. We could get the last great year out of him since he'll be playing for a big contract.

JJ isn't a really disruptive guy. I think it'll be OK one way or another. We do have to be careful and not over-pay him, but if he leaves, we might take a step backwards.

  2. This is why stat geeks should only use stats and stop trying to give actual basketball analysis

    Flip

    24.7 mpg

    12 ppg

    2 apg

    1 rpg

    44% fg

    36% 3fg

all I gotta say is lol

Flip was perfect for us off the bench last year. He was an aggressor, pushed tempo, and led well while on the floor. A lot of what he did for us isn't going to show up in a box score. We got the perfect player for our situation. Luckily for us he stayed in a good mood all year.

  3. That was a fantastic read. Thanks for posting it.

He makes a lot of valid points. Love what he said about Marvin. This is all good stuff. I honestly believe the difference in 47 and 50+ wins goes like this: FT shooting and Josh stepping in or driving when he is all alone at the 3pt line.

Josh is obviously the biggest culprit for both. If he steps up...I mean even like 68% from the line, it can go a long way. He started to show good signs closer to and in the playoffs by passing up a gfew threes and going to the hole. It yielded good results. Why he can't listen to the nagging doubts in his head is beyond me, but if (and when) it clicks, it could really help change a lot of the dynamic of our offense.

  4. I saw that too.

But why would Sekou Smith be talking about his in the AJC? Man, if Sekou Smith did not verified by talking to JJ he will get killed. :shake_puter:

Because Sekou isn't a very good writer and has been getting increasingly lazy.

  5. Sekou went from being superstar hawks beat writter to super boring and predictable.

He got a little national attention, and now he has become a prima donna. I can't stand him anymore.

As for JJ's tweets...I am going with fake account. If he really speaks like that, he may be mildly retarded.

  6. Cheap, strong, veteran post player? Yes, please.

If nothing else, we should be happy with the amount of activity our GM has created for this team. He sees needs and is trying to fill them. Pretty nice off-season.

  7. One of the Greatest of All-Time? Isiah would laugh, then punch you. Last time I checked, PGs have a man to guard also. It just so happens that Nash has never done this. This is full-court ball we're talking right? His defense, or lack thereof, is only exploited to the highest degree, leading to embarrassing losses against scoring points who salivate at his presence in front of them, and often go on to have career games at his expense. Offense fills seats, Defense wins championships my boy. Just ask all the frontcourt players who racked up fouls because Nash's man had a straight sprint to the cup.

Dominique is going to be pissed when he gets banned then. So is almost every player in the 1980s.

  8. Sorry Jerry, but losing for that long will have a profound affect on him. Hopefully he doesn't contaminate our locker room. As for Larry Brown's praise, it seems like smoke to me. There's no way he would take a liking to a defender as poor.

For once, Hollinger is dead on with his analysis of a player. I'm still waiting for him to come up with a Defensive PER matrix that would ban Steve Nash from the league and void his MVP awards.

Why in the world would you want to ban one of the greatest PGs of all time?
