As much as I think numbers aren't the be-all, end-all ways to judge athletes, numbers and statistics are not opinions. He did a good job of stating hypotheses based on solid numbers. I've been reading Hoopinion for a few years now, and the author is fantastic at analyzing numbers and breaking down games.

I watched the game last night and realized the Cavs basically stole our playbook for the series.

Josh Smith: Fan's wet dream, coach's nightmare. The fact of the matter is that while Josh has had some great games for the Hawks, it is pretty apparent that mentally, he may just never truly "get it" and learn what it is like to be a great player and teammate. There are times when he looks like he might turn a corner, and then Mr Hyde comes back out. His body language changes, he lags back, argues every call, scowls at the coach and stops hustling. It's almost like having the world's most talented 5 year-old. Once things begin to not go his way, the lights in his head go out. It's frustrating. His numbers have been good, but there's more to pro sports than raw numbers. If he could get his head on straight, he'd be unstoppable. Until then, he's "what could be." So I guess my stance is: Don't trade him to trade him, but if a great value comes along, pull the trigger. At this point, I say nobody on the Hawks is untouchable. Even JJ slipped out of "untouchable" status this year.

Blake Griffin is a freakish athlete and is all effort all the time. He'll end up being great. Unless of course the Clippers draft him.

There's an awful lot I would trade to get Blake Griffin in Atlanta.

What Zaza does that I think makes him so valuable, is he really seems to be able to get in other players' heads. That and he hits his FTs.

Celtics are better 1-12. But unfortunately, the 1-4 for the Cavs is ridiculous. Lebron can demoralize teams on his own. I'd love to see us take a couple at home to make it fun and exiting, but in my opinion, I think it's 5 games at the most. I see the Cavs as being the best team, especially with home court.

Agreed. What is this game coming to when taking pride in a great man-to-man defensive play is not admirable? Wade is a baby. Zaza has absolutely gotten in the Heats' collective heads.

I LOVE Zaza and his play, but my MVPs so far are: Bibby - Every game has been playing well. Even playing defense. Josh - As much as we hate his lack of IQ, he's been tearing it up inside. Flip - I'll get killed for this, but he was HUGE in the last two wins. He's fearless.

I am in the "don't showboat" crew. Yes, the place would have gone nuts, but NEVER make the other team feel slighted when you have 2 more games to play. Josh is a child and he plays like it at a lot of times. It's something we have to deal with. Man...even Fratello was mortified by that dunk attempt.

Gotta be honest...Flip, Mo, Zaza have been dping GREAT things for us.
