  1. It's "Marvin's Summer", part 2. We all know how that has turned out so far.
  2. Quote: It's definately a measuring stick in a sense that it is certainly a game we SHOULD win. If we want to be over .500 these are the games we should take care of. Yeah and I watched the Sixer/Bobcat game last night. They are the opposite of good. We are also better than Philly by a pretty good margin. Now, whether we actually beat them remains to be seen.
  3. Quote: Quote: However, we have more depth! I church league basketball team has more depth than the Celtics, but of course, having 3 future hall of famers on your team helps mask that. 3? Ray Allen is not going to the HOF. Pierce would be borderline at this point.
  4. I think Zaza should come off the bench after tonight. If Al is going to continue rebounding like he is, Zaza would make a great offensive and rebounding weapon off the bench. Imagine what he could have done off the bench tonight with that nougat middle the Suns had. He and Chillz together coming in would be great for us. Go Al, go!
  5. Quote: Steve Nash is a amazing player, all respect to him. On one end of the floor, not the other.
  6. Quote: I can't believe what I just saw. Smoove took an ill-advised shot. Law got on to him. And Woody yanked Law!!!!!!!!!!! what an a-hole!!!!!!! Acie has been here less time than we have, and even he gets it. Josh...stop shooting 3s.
  7. Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: All of these posts are dead on. One thing I would like to see from him is learning to block shots so you can recover them. Swatting them into the seats is fun, but change of posession is better. Smith blocked at least 2 shots that led to turnovers last night. He blocked Maxiell on a dunk once, but you can't control where a blocked dunk will go. I remember one time he blocked Hamilton straight back, then jumped up and got it. I haven't seen him swatting in the seats so far this year. Someone is reading too much Sports Illustrated. Not really sure what that means Not you. Know nothing, extremely critical, Sports Illustrated scouts were yapping about how Smoove sends all blocks to the stands. We had a big thread about that last week. I was just adding to your response to Duffman. I have noticed he has been doing better at this, I just hope it stays that way...that was one of my big gripes for him, even though it isn't all that big of one. And, I haven't read an SI in over 5 years.

  9. Quote: OMG JOSH SMITH SUCKS Yep. Josh has not played well.
  10. Quote: I think that Detroit is moving away from their blue collar label in that they are a team of jump shooters who don't like to bang. If Al and Josh get get the rebounds than the game is ours. This game will come down to rebounding and us not having too many turnovers. I agree. Sheed is OK, but they are not a muscle team...Horford needs to get it done!
  11. Quote: The Suns will be tough but the Suns also play no defense. I watched the Lakers get to the rack with no resistance time after time. The Suns are not a title contender until they play some defense. As opposed to none. Now, their capable of playing much better defense than they have played so far. It's only 2 games but the defense has been as bad as Golden States. I also noticed that Nash must be attacked. Nash simply cannot play defense at all. His lateral movement, while never great, is gone now totally. Nash is a huge liability on defense and I think that teams are going to start making the Suns pay by exposing Nash. When your PG allows his man in your paint time after time the defense gets broken down. I thought PHX might be on a mission this year and would possibly win it all. Adding Hill did nothing for their defense and I am no longer favoring the Suns until they play better defense. And with Nash making T-Lue look like a lock down defender, the Suns can't win the title. I was thinking about this...if they put Nash on Law at any point in the game, he will be able to do anything he wants in the game. Nash is an abysmal defender, and Law is far too quick for him.
  12. Just watched the game. Great effort overall. When all cogs are clicking, we're gonna be tough to beat. LOVE the new unis, too. Very cool. Great night!
  13. Um...anyone remember John Stockton? Same story, only on the pro level.
  14. Quote: I welcome the Super Mario Era with open arms. I can already hear the Nintendo *doing* jumping sound whenever he goes to the hole. Maybe we should put "?" bloks over the hoops?
  15. Quote: Another reason why Sir Charles is THE MAN. Except that he wanted to do a Lemon Drop for the shot! I reminded him we were no longer in Phoenix. We all did a Soco/Lime. He said it wasn't that bad. What Hall of Fame power forward orders a Lemon Drop? I love the Chuckster. Being this close to Philly, you almost have to.
  16. Quote: PCAST espn About 3:45 into the podcast Chuck says the Hawks are his sleeper team, and that he likes Acie Law IV. I got to meet Charles (at a nice resaurant in Philly). He did a shot with me and a few of my buddies. He mentioned this to me as well. He said he thought the Hawks did the right thing in the draft and that they have good young players that can out-run and out-hustle almost anyone in the East. Then my buddy asked him about the Knicks and he said "Man, they terrible". We all had a good laugh.
  17. He's so good, he's been traded 5 times since he's been in the league. It is an improvement in talent and youth, yes. In results? Whole other question.
  18. Ricky Davis is not a good answer to anything. They were desperate to get rid of Antoine, and the Twolves were desperate to get rid of Davis.
  19. Quote: I thought the last time we made the playoffs, we were lost to the Knicks in the 2nd round. Not in the first round to the Hornets. Yeah...that was the strike year 1999. We beat Detroit then got killed by the Knicks. I love how these guys never do any homework.
  20. Quote: he played for 6 seconds! And he was lights out in that 6 seconds.
  21. Quote: J.Smith played 39 min in preseason! Dude need some rest in the next game! They may rest everyone for the next game. I kind of like it with our young team...these wins will hopefully carry our confidence into the regular season.
  22. Quote: Game over win by 4.... Good game all around. LOVE IT!
  23. Quote: Thanks ALOT Anthony for missing both FT'S.. Yuck. Especially from a guard.
  24. Quote: Quote: Quote: jj sucking at SHOOTING, not overall You see this is what I'm talking about! He had games like this last year and wasn't smart enoug to stop shooting! I guess nothing has changed! I think you're getting way too worked up. Better that he finds his groove by putting up too many J's right now then once the season starts. Seriously. Good shooters keep shooting. Plus, he is of a lot of value to us on the defensive end. Geez...an off night during preseason and people lose their heads.
