NY gets Theo Ratliff; 2nd round pick (2006 from Atl).

    PTL gets Antonio Davis.

    Atlanta get Steve Blake.

    Here's why it's done.

PTL gets an ending contract and out of Theo's last 2 years. They would use capspace to resign Pryz. They also get Antonio Davis who can still give good BU minutes.

NY gets Shot blocker Theo... who could play either Pf or C depending on if he's playing with Frye or Curry. Plus they get a 2nd round pick. Isiah has been doing very well lately.

ATL gets Steve Blake. PG. 6'3". He's able to run the offense and I believe he would be a great compliment to JJ.

    Steve Blake? That's your answer?

Well Maybe KB's boy Derrick Zimmerman can help us out some on defense. Remember Zimmerman, Daryl Dorsey and another Pointguard are suppose to be workingout for Woody and Billy this week.

    BTW Happy NewYear HawkSquawkers!!!!!

I heard Morlon Wiley and Travis Mays were available.

by tv i meant free or cable tv, not part of a paid package like nbatv or league pass

it's not on pax(i), fsn, turnersouth so we don't get it without paying for a league-wide year-long service

on a side note: i'd pay $5 if it were on pay-per-view to watch this individual game

That's what I figured, but I thought i'd at least let everyone know what the options are. get to a bar with the package and buy 2 beers. $5 to watch the game!

.. for the loss is that Nicholas did not eat corndogs last night. That's the only thing I can think of.

i only eat them at lunch on workdays and i didn't work on monday or tuesday, so i didn't eat any

guess i should change it to weekdays instead of workdays

hopefully we'll win again tonite so i can eat some tomorrow...i was looking forward to today's lunch but now i can't eat them frown.gif

btw, the game isn't on tv tonight (neither game in toronto this season is on tv)

Actually, the game is on the NBA package tonight. FYI. It is on NBA1 on DirecTV.

You seem to forget that I could care less what other people think. My opinion is the only one that matters to me.

Then why don't you create your own board and you can spam yourself to your hearts content? Why are you constantly hyping Marvin if you don't care what anyone thinks?

    That is totally bassackwards.

Keep in mind he replied to a post that was already started by a Marvin basher.

I don't remember seeing anyone outside of Chad Ford lauding Darko Milicic as the #2 player in that draft.

Like I said though. Many of you are going to act like you never criticized Marvin when he's putting up 24-25 PPG, 8-9 RPG, 3-4 APG, while shooting a high percentage from the field and behind the arc, getting to the free throw line and shooting a high percentage, and playing lock down man up defense.

Marvin Williams will be a top 10 NBA player in 2-3 years. Chris Paul won't be. That's why taking Marvin was better than taking Chris Paul, not to mention the fact that Paul doesn't fit what the Hawks want.

I am on your side with the "no bashing Marvin", but this statement is just plain asinine.

Amen --- It is amusing how these boards view a 4 out of 5 winning streak --- we have been so condition to losing that we put are almost frightened to enjoy the wins --- instead we want to qualify the Hawks wins. I agree that regardless of all the factors a win is a win. In fact all those that are qualifying the win over the Nuggets should note that just a couple of weeks ago we would have found some way to lose to the Nuggets regardless of the number of starters or "CBA" players on the floor. What can't be denied is that the Hawks have 4 additional wins on the standings against NBA teams emphasis on NBA.

Frightened to enjoy the wins?? Probably because a 5 game

losing streak would follow this winning streak. That's the

type of thing that usally goes on.

There is no doubt that it's been a better couple of weeks,

but that doesn't change that the Hawks beat a team they

should have beaten soundly and they barely pulled it out.

So, we only beat one team over the "better couple of weeks"?

I'm glad Shaq is playing tomorrow night. Because if he wasn't, and we happened to win, that wouldn't be a "legit" win either.

Actually it would be legit because they would still have Zo. But if they were missing Shaq, Zo, Williams, Walker, and Haslem then I might be less than impressed.

Sorry, but you're playing in left field.

Francis for Al, Lue (or Delk or both), and Smith(or Chill - or possibly Salim if they would go for it)

Orlando has Nelson to play pg and Stevenson for Sg - they are only adequate but the point would be to fortify their F spots with a veteran swing F in Al and a younger SF in Smith (or Chill).

It seems like Orlando comes out ahead in the deal, but only a little.

It is worth it to us to get a veteran PG, who would pair interestingly with JJ.

    pg - stevie

    sg - jj - salim

    sf - Smith (or Chill)

    pf - Marv

    c - to be added, Zsa-zsa

    Positives -

The 1-4 spots would run and score - and would be fun to watch.

We wouldn't have the players we need to develop sitting on the bench (at least until the next draft).

    Negatives -

We give up a little more than we get - but not much - maybe we get some draft picks added in.

C would still hurt, but that will have to adressed another way anyway.

With this lineup we would start winning more games and would end up out of the top 4 - so we would be giving up gay/aldridge/rondo.

No Steve Francis. He's cancerous and not really a winner. I think we do not need a shoot-first guard.

    LOL

you go right on ahead thinking a win over a near CBA

team is of big importance.. I'll continue to be realistic.

4 out of 5 games is nothing to scoff at. And it is a huge deal considering last year's team would have lost 4 out of the 5.

People have been spending too much time on the Falcons' boards.

After the futility we have been through as fans of the Hawks in recent years, belittling a nice winning streak is just blatant negativity for the sake of being negative.

No Boris Diaw for the West? Guess Bill Walton doesn't vote.

which is why this game is dangerous. Sure, they are a bad team. But in the ranks of bad teams, we're a little worse than they are. With their record, you know they're going to come in fird up, ready to get another elusive win. Look for someone on that roster to GO OFF on us tonight. But we need to match that attitude and intensity. I think we have a couple of players that they don't have the personel to guard yet. So talent wise, we can do it. We just have to come out and want it more.

I look for JJ to have a great game along with zaza, he's due.

Anyone have a Zaza injury report??

in philly tonite (wearing my j_smoove jersey of course). it was even worse in person! hawks get NO respect from anyone. i shouldn't be suprised b/c this has happened to us too many times going back to last season. we had 'em. Al couldn't be stopped. read the postgame report on sixers.com. Mo Cheeks speaks of getting "breaks"- even he knows. our tenth loss by >10pts. the bad calls started early and never stopped. FTA: ATL-18 PHI-35

We were JOBBED tonight. We're Bret Hart, and the 76ers were Shawn Michaels.

    Al to Indy.

    Artest to Sac-town.

    Peja to Denver.

    A-Miller to Atlanta...

I think everybody leaves the table Happy...

Atlanta then Deals Lue to Milwaukee for Gadzuric...

    Gad, Zaza, JSmoove, JJ, A-Miller...

And we're gunning for Aldridge in the draft!

Man, you really create some doozies.

  15. Artest and JJ on the court at the same time would be an awesome amount of defense alone. Would probably help.

But...I HATE the idea of bringing another JR Rider here to rip the heart out of our franchise. Although, I bet if he was traded and getting his shots, etc, he would be a model citizen for at least a year or two.

Interesting to speculate, probably not going to happen. I would venture to guess that Indy will try to put him in the West to get him out of their hair for good.

Yea but I still remember when he lit up Ben Wallace and detroit for 50. He was on fire that night.

He is the most tenative guy ever. He cried for fouls while his man dunked on the other end. he is slow, cannot defend, and shoots WAY too many jumpers.
