  1. This trade would have to go on the 21-22 season where Beal is set to make $34 million. There is a 12.4 million difference in salaries. Technically it could be worked if the Hawks waived their free agents (except JC). Beal has a Player Option for 2022 which he would likely reject in order to sign a new max deal. Basically you are trading Bogi (at 18 million/year for 2 years), Cam and #20 for a 1 year rental.
  2. The things he does well translate to any level of basketball.
  3. The ESPN rumor is 100% BS and based off this 4 month old BS rumor.
  4. Here is the original 4 month old rumor (unverified) from Jake Fischer. https://hoopshype.com/rumor/hawks-offering-cam-reddish-in-trade-talks/ He was filling a quota. The current rumor is recycled off of that one. It is not new or legitimate. It's clickbait based on his ECF performance.
  5. This is based off of a Feb trading deadline rumor. There is nothing to see here. We are not open to trading him for a pick.
  6. I'll just leave this here: https://heavy.com/sports/philadelphia-76ers/joel-embiid-offseason-surgery/ I smell a rat!!! They didn't oversell this in the playoffs for ratings did they?
  7. I've never found you more attractive. Okay, maybe if he develops that in out game but yes, he'd be much more valuable there defensively as a weakside defender.
  8. No I don't. If I've proven anything its my unbreakable attachment to delusion.
  9. I just finished 2 hours of yard work. I'm not sure if I almost passed out from the heat or the abject stupidity of the writer. We just went to the ECF...why does he think we'd trade from our core?
  10. Thursday is a long way away...August 2nd even farther.
  11. There's a reason one was drafted 2nd and the other 6th. At least 5 teams disagree with you! What I can tell you is we heavily shopped 6 on draft night but weren't blown away by any offers. OO was there if people wanted him. There were no takers. And I don't over value OO, I just understand his ceiling is top 15 center. I'm realistic.
  12. tues/wednesday they'll pop. Monday we'll start hearing legit rumors. 80% of what you hear won't happen though.
  13. I have...he's definitely not worth his contract but he is in that 15-20 million range. He has value. Everything with Wiggins will now forever be framed in the context of his contract. Read a bit farther down, a acquiesce to him haven't other value beyond 3 inches in height.
  14. Oh I beg to differ. There are a number of very useful (no superstars) pieces in this year's draft that are flying under the radar. Queta is going to be in this league a while. Kai Jones is going to be a very useful big going forward. Garuba and Butler. All going to provide good minutes at reasonable costs. If I could spin that 20 + players into 7/14 and get Jones/Butler I'd call this a very successful offseason. Lose CC/Gallo (which I agree sucks) but get a year of Wiggins + Wiseman, Jones (or Garuba) and Butler on rookie deals for the next 3-4 years...yah, I'm all over that. Loads of talent and cap flexibility. Those picks are going to be solid role players in the near future. This would not preclude signing a Whiteside...there is still going to be a roster spot or two and exceptions.
  15. don't have to know it to see it....go here: http://www.shamsports.com/capulator choose GS from the drop down. Go down to free agents and hit renounce all on the first 2 columns, then slide to the bottom. Look at Luxury Tax Room and Payment. Its really that easy. They're in it in a bad way. Then do the same for the Hawks. Without Collins hold, we've got about $15 million to spend. With Collins hold, technically $3 million. If Dunn opts out...$8 million. If Collins signs elsewhere and Dunn opts out, $20 million. We're no where near the LT this year. But next year, the holds for Huerter, Trae tie our hands. Following year, Cam and Hunter. Its why I keep saying Gallo is the magic key to keeping everyone.
  16. Its too expensive for them to keep. Its $5 million in salary year 1 and $25 million in LT Penalty. They've got to find a way to drop salary and those are going to be their only trading capital. They are letting Oubre walk for free this year because they can't justify resigning him. Oubre isn't a franchise player but he's walking for free....that's a sin. IE they can be fleeced right now if it helps them win today.
  17. A note on the GS picks. They are so far over the cap that high draft picks are actually painful for them. Assuming they waived all free agents next year and took both draft picks...they would sit $38 million above the luxury tax threshhold and would owe almost $164 million in LT payments. Not an exaggeration. $164 million owed. The total salary for Wiseman and their 2 picks is about $18 million total but will cost them almost $90 million in LT payments. Sending us 14 to take Wiggins and Wiseman for CC and Gallo would save them over $6 million in cap space and $30 million in LT payments. Yes their cap situation is that bad. If you're winning chips its less egregious but out in the 1st round, its criminal.
  18. If there was a way to spin it for future draft capital for 14 I would do that as well. You just can't coach size man. He's going to have a big frame. An offensive weapon at center is going to make Trae's life much easier in the future.
  19. I can appreciate that...I wouldn't. The Wiggins part of it isn't Hawks friendly because it binds our hands for 2 seasons to a big contract for a player worth more like $18 mil a year. Let's play the game though for a minute. You could do the following trade....this I might consider. CC + Gallo (37.5 million) + 20th pick + the OKC 1st for Wiseman + Wiggins ($40.5 million) + 7th pick. Why we do it - Wiseman + the 7th pick, a chance to spin Wiggins next year as an expiring. Why GS does it. Clint fills an immediate need. Gallo fills an immediate need. They drop $3 million LT space and save $10-15 (ish) million in LT penalty. Yes, this is a real possibility and something GS might do.
  20. I think if you want to grade where OO wins its energy, guts, scrambling. All valuable commodities.
  21. Homer goggles. OO is not "better", nor was he a better prospect. But they are close enough I can accept your premise.
  22. Yah, no, yah. There's politics, face saving and it was only 1 Covid shortened year. Typically I'd agree here but honesty compels me to say its a smidge more complicated than that. 6th overall pick, you are 100% right. 1st overall pick but legal trouble...sure. But the player, size, skills, potential are all still there. If they were giving him away to the Knicks (for example) in exchange for absorbing Wiggins contract (something they could do), New York would jump on that in a minute and still consider it like getting a #1 pick. He's very close to being Ayton. Ayton's first year he was 16/10 30 minutes per game. Wiseman was 11.5 and 5.8 in 21 minutes. average that out to 30 and he's 16.4/8.3. I mean he's almost Ayton per minute comparing rookie years'. But I get where you're coming from and it has merit and I'd 100% agree if we were talking a non top 3 pick.
  23. Kind of goes with the title - "Franchise player". IE...the franchise.
  24. JC for Wiggins straight up works. That part you're fine on ($28mil for $31 mil, within 25%). Wiseman will be at $9 million. We'd have to send out between 7.2 and 11.25 million. (note: we could also simultaneously snt any of our free agents in this scenario as well...say snell but don't get cocky its too complicated). In this scenario and including only 1 player, only Deandre Hunter fits. Including 2 players and using Bruno, only OO + Bruno fits. So to clear it up, what you'd be proposing is sending out Collins and Hunter for Wiggins and Wiseman or Collins, Bruno and OO for Wiggins and Wiseman in 2 separate deals. Sorry that's just too much. But I like the enthusiasm.
