  1. I am being told the Lonzo rumors are 100% being driven by his people trying to motivate a trade.
  2. Like 10 years ago, Diesel posted a wild trade idea and then a few hours later it was floated by a member of the Boston media....you aren't 100% wrong. @Diesel, do you remember that?
  3. Any rumors are good rumors as far as teams are concerned. Rumors Collins is going to Beantown raise his value in negotiations with other teams. Some rumors are placed to depress a players value, some are to elevate it. They will never say "there is no truth to the rumors" because its of too much benefit.
  4. Its like people didn't read my post on Cam and the weight training. He is starting to come around and is willing to put in the work (externally motivated). He was one of a few who butted heads with LP on the message because of how it was delivered. The Hawks very much still believe Cam has top 20 potential if he does indeed put in the work (no matter how he's motivated to do it). SMDH!
  5. The newest nugget from Kevin O'Connor (try not to laugh so hard you spit on your keyboard). O’Connor: Celtics pursuit of John Collins ‘also involves … Bogdan Bogdanovic’ https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/o-connor-celtics-pursuit-john-003748808.html Per O'Connor, the Hawks would trade Collins and Bogi and we would take back a collection of picks. They would send Tristan Thompson somewhere and this would free the Hawks up to trade Cam for Lonzo. So yes Hawks fans, per this charlatan, the Hawks trade 3 rotation players for Lonzo Ball and draft picks.
  6. The same writer says we offered Collins for Beasley and a 1st and Minnesota declined. I highly, highly doubt that based on 1) it would leave us even shorter on quality bigs, 2) they are not close to commensurate players 3) their pick this year/or next is tied up in the GS trade and 4) Beasley plays a position currently occupied by Hunter 5) common sense.
  7. Renouncing every free agent we have (including Collins) and picking up every option we have....we are 4 million over the cap next season. So uhm ya....not sure where he got that. That does include Cam's salary and the 1st round pick plus Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception $ 9,535,000 Bi-Annual Exception $ 3,731,000 So I guess ya we'd have some money but .... his premise is wrong.
  8. A number of Hawks struggled shooting tonight and one player had "flu like symptoms". Wondering if its the result of them getting their vaccinations. Lots of people get a little wobbley.
  9. I have to disagree. The shot of the night was that Nathan Knight poster dunk.
  10. This! Unless an offer with fit knocks their socks off, there is no value in moving him now. Run with that strong bench play and see how far it takes you. But you can't keep the starters in the future if you keep the $57 million you have invested in those 3 + Snell.
  11. They got him to work with the 1st unit, not second. 18 mil is a lot to spend for a bench wing. He has a slower game than Trae, Collins, Capela. Much like Joe Johnson, the ball slows down when it hits BB's hands. The first unit falls out of sets. There were 2 catch at shoots last night with BB and Trae which is exactly the kind of curl off screen, run the baseline to the corner player they need off of Trae's game. This isn't natural for BB. He executed it, but he's much better at "the offense is breaking down, lemme go get you a bucket" kind of an offense. BB on the floor will take the ball out of Trae's hands in order for BB to be effective. BB+Rondo+Gallo is a great fit as all 3 love to run set plays, iso kickouts. But those 3 on the floor together is $45 million or 40% of your cap...on the bench line.
  12. If they finish top 4 in the east, he should.
  13. If it wasn't obvious before now, I'm a bit of a Kris Dunn Stan....I just love his game
  14. JD Shaw: The Hawks say Kris Dunn (right ankle surgery on Dec. 29) returned to modified team practice yesterday and will travel on the team’s upcoming road trip. 3 hours ago – via Twitter JShawNBA
  15. He isn't getting traded mid season but for poops and snickers I'll play. A trade for Bogdan would actually look something like Bogdan + Bruno for Insert big name player here between 20 and $25 million but on the down side of his career and/or expiring. or Bogdan for 1 12 million player + 2 2-5 million throw ins of which we'll waive 1-2. No need for picks to exchange hands as Bogdan is a very good player but a bad fit here.
  16. 15% trade kicker, the no trade clause to atlanta was only if the Kings matched. 99% sure of this but will research. Yep Contract Notes: 15% Trade Kicker 2023 Player Option The main hold up was we signed him Nov 22 (not sure official date) and he couldn't be traded for 3 full months after (Feb 22). I believe he is eligible now.
  17. I apologize if this thread makes anyone physically ill. It was no picnic to write either.
  18. Ya...but good news is that cream you sent worked great.
  19. 32 games left in the season for the Hawks and looking up at the standings this morning, the Hawks are 1.5 games out of the 4th playoff slot and 7.5 games back from the best record in the East. If we can assume LP is responsible for 3 losses, the Hawks would solidly be in the 4th slot for the East. If LP was responsible for 5 of the first 20 losses, and 2 of those losses were to Brooklyn (Dec 30 145-141) and Milwaukee (Jan 24, down 17 at the end of 1, lost by 14). The Hawks would be in position to control their own fate within 2 games of the top spot in the East. 2 games. Dec 30 Brooklyn - Leading at the end of 3, the Hawks give up 43 points in the 4th quarter. Hawks down 1, Capela is subbed out at 5:31 left. Hawks lose by 4. Brooklyn scores 20 points in the last 5:23 to win. Jan 2 Cleveland - Leading by 4 at the end of 3, the Hawks score only 17 points in the 4th quarter. Cleveland becomes the first team to try trapping in the backcourt and force 3 turnovers. Trae gets the treatment from the refs but LP doesn't take a tech to protect his guys. Hawks lose by 5. Jan 4 Knicks - Leading by 4 at the end of 3, the Hawks score 20 points in the 4th quarter. The pattern of only 1 of Collins and Capela on the floor in the 4th continues. Hawks lose by 5. 2nd straight game of Trae seeing traps in the backcourt in the 4th, has 3 turnovers in the quarter. Jan 6 Charlotte. Hawks lose 1st quarter 27-11. Not ready to compete. Hawks lose by 8. Jan 9 Charlotte. 2:30 left in the 3rd, Hawks down 3. Early in the shot clock, Brandon Goodwin misses a 3, Trae Young offensive rebound...wait what...Young and Goodwin on the floor together. But we have 3 young wings. Surely 2 of them can be on the floor at all times.....Young passes to Solomon Hill who shoots and misses a 3. Hawks go on to lose by 8. Jan 16 Portland. Game tied at the end of 3. Hawks score 20 points in the 4th quarter. Lose by 6 (not going into detail...this one made me ill). Jan 27 Brooklyn - Game tied end of 3. Game tied at the end of 4. With 3:23 left in the 4th quarter, Hawks up 3, Collins enters the game for Capela (continuing the trend of them not playing together in the 4th). Capela does not play in OT. Brooklyn scores 24 points in the last 3 minutes + 5 minutes OT. Hawks lose by 4. Feb 1 Lakers - Hawks leading by 1 after 3. Give up 32 points in the 4th quarter, lose by 8. Feb 3 Dallas - Hawks leading by 3 at the half. Give up 69 points in the second half. Lose by 6. Feb 10 Dallas - Hawks leading by 9 after 3. Give up 37 points in the 4th. Lose by 1. Feb 23 Cleveland - Hawks up 1. Capela leaves the game with 19.5 seconds left. Cleveland gets a driving dunk with 4 seconds left. Hawks lose by 1. Pick any 5 games. Can you attribute the loss to LP? There are more but these really stand out to me.
  20. Up until a month or less ago, I would have told you there was zero chance he was back. His 3 point shooting has opened the floor for Gallo/Collins and hasn't gone unnoticed. But what playoff teams desperate for 3 point shooting wings are offering is so far above his value, I can't believe he's here past next Thursday but he now may be. The problem is the salary match...what do we have to take back. I have to assume at this point that salary is still there July 1 in some form or another. You always hear the phrase "stay ready for your opportunity". This lesson for the youth on our team was on full display with Snell. Despite not really being able to play to start the season and having to wait it out on the bench, he kept working, staying ready. He is a valuable vet when it comes to leading by example. If he is resigned after the break. With Nate at the helm and Tony's value on the floor and as a mentor/example being on full display, he may be brought back. But he has interest all around the league and if he keeps shooting it like he is, that will go up. Past performance, he's barely an MLE player. But what have you done for me lately and professionalism hold a lot of weight. The decision on Snell if he's still with the team in June may drag out for weeks into the signing period. He will have options.
  21. No he asked a private question. Still not 100% agreement but better context for the conversation moving forward.
  22. I just reread that line. That is a really good description of how it looks at times. Shocked it was passed to him. Shocked to realize he's been sealed off. Shocked at the angle the ball came off the rim and reacting just a smidge too late.
  23. To uncomplicate the math. Its a placeholder for a player. Since I can't name the player, I was showing the situation even without the hold for the MLE. Chances are >95% we use it of course.
