  2. So 8 days, 1 motherboard replacement, 1 faulty rgb controller, fighting with windows activation and me swapping video cards with him later (he got the 3080). It is finally done. We swapped out the 6800 (in my box now) for an Nvidia 3080. Motherboard wouldn't read memory, had a damaged cpu socket. So swapped it out for a Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Master. Had a faulty RGB controller so had to load all the rbg onto 1. But it is finally done.

  4. He was listed as DND (Did not Dress) - Rest
  5. Pre-draft I took a smidge of heat for my calls not to trade up for Anthony Edwards and instead to only consider trading up if it was Wiseman. I was very clear that this draft was full of good players who are just going to take a very long time to be good NBA players. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/watch-no-1-overall-pick-182958162.html Edwards debut - "Edwards totaled five points, four rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes of work off the bench in the 107-105 loss. He managed to shoot just 2-of-9 from the field, including 1-of-5 from 3-point range, while he committed five fouls and three turnovers." Lamelo Ball debut - 0-5 for 0 pts, 10 reb, 4 assists, 4 TO in 16 minutes. Wiseman - DNP Now its only 1 game....lots of room to grow...but our priorities are different right now. I'm glad we resisted the urge to trade up.
  6. Vet play of the night, after 3 bad trips down the floor that Trae holds 90% of the responsibility for, Gallo pulled down a rebound and Trae met him to take the ball. Gallo waived him off and brought it up himself and set the offense. Gigantic vet move where he shut down all the nonsense by playing the 6-10 point guard. Next trip down, Trae was back under control. It wasn't meanspirited or show boaty...it was just a vet establishing a winning attitude. Somewhere around the 7 minute mark of the 4th I believe.
  7. It was very promising. Only negative is tons of turnovers. Some of it showboating, some of it Brandon Goodwin is not NBA ready against good defensive clubs....and last of it is Trae trying to make passes to ghosts. There was one terrible play where after setting a screen for Trae, Gallo hesitated and instead of cutting or stepping back he floated to inside the 3 point line. The screen resulted in both defenders doubling Trae. Trae went behind his back to pass to Gallo at the 3 point line but Gallo was floating behind the double. Just a terrible turnover that was 50% unfamiliarity with each other and 50% Trae trying to be in an AND1 promo video on every play.
  8. Bruno is leaving the door wide open for Okongwu. Seeing Goodwin these last 2 games makes me appreciate the Rondo and Dunn deals all the more.
  9. I might be imagining this but Huerter's defense looks much improved.
  10. My initial reactions from tonight. Eye test - Huerter looked better than Bogdan Trae is Rusty. Capela is the best move we've made in years. Goodwin single handledly lost that game. There was a 5 minute stretch at the end of the game where he had 2 bad shots and like 4 turnovers. Dunn+Rondo is going to be a blessing. Gallinari is like the worlds most lovable Great Dane puppy. Arms, elbows going everywhere and just makes you smile. Great effort from Hunter. I hate that Cam is going to see reduced minutes.
  11. anyone post the top 50....not that I'd listen SPEN any way.
  12. First of all - I love your enthusiasm. However, the NBA salary cap is an odd thing and unlike NBA 2k, you can't keep asking for the player you want and get him when the computer finally accepts on the 1% chance. There are rules. The Hawks are currently 5 millionish dollars over the nba salary cap. The Rockets are 29 million ish over the cap. Any trade between the two would need to be for within 25% of the incoming/outgoing salaries or in this case $4 million difference based on what Atlanta is sending out. The players you suggested add up to $16 million in cap. Harden makes $41 million. We are $21 million away on salaries and as such is a non-starter. " Trading and the salary cap[edit] Teams below the salary cap may trade without regard to salary, as long as they don't end up more than $100,000 above the cap following a trade. Teams above the cap (or teams below the cap but would end up more than $100,000 over the cap following a trade) cannot acquire more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary they trade away. Under the 2011 CBA, teams that remain below the luxury tax threshold even after the trade can acquire the lesser of 150% plus $100,000, or 100% plus $5 million, of the salary they trade away.[5] There is no lower limit—teams may divest themselves of as much salary as they wish (or can convince another team to take on) in a trade. No free agent signed in the offseason can be traded until December 15 of that year or until three months have passed (whichever comes later), a rule that prevents teams from signing free agents with the intent of using them strictly as trade fodder. For draft picks this moratorium lasts 30 days. If teams acquire a player in a trade, they are allowed to trade that player straight-up for another individual player immediately. However, if teams wish to package that player with another and trade for a more expensive player, they must wait 60 days before doing so. The tight salary-matching rules of the 2005 CBA often required what NBA cap analyst Larry Coon called "trade ballast"—extra players added to a deal solely for salary matching, who would typically be waived by their new teams. Under that CBA, such players were restricted from rejoining their original teams for 30 days during the season or 20 days in the offseason. This led to what Coon called "wink-wink deals where players are traded with the full expectation of returning later." A notable example of such a deal occurred in the 2009–10 season, in which the Cleveland Cavaliers included Zydrunas Ilgauskas in their trade with the Washington Wizards for Antawn Jamison. Ilgauskas was waived a week later without ever appearing in a game for the Wizards, and re-signed with Cleveland after the 30-day waiting period passed. Since the 2011 CBA, a player acquired in a trade and waived by his new team cannot re-sign with his original team until one year after the trade or July 1 after the expiration of his contract, whichever is sooner.[5]"
  13. Hard to argue too much with any of this but Boston is overvalued for sure. Boston is going to come in closer to 6 (imho). I agree Philly is going to be very good and would bump them up to 2 or 3. The question mark team for me is Milwaukee. They are one Giannis injury from not making the playoffs. I love Holiday's game but I don't necessarily see the assembled pieces there as a good fit. They may fall to 4 for me. Brooklyn is all about health. I expect a relatively slow start there but could see them being the top team in the East by the end. Back to Boston...they have lived off a weak East in past years. That isn't there this year. A strong East could cost them 5-10 wins off of last year. The loss of Hayward is no small matter. I see them taking a firm step back. I don't see Orlando. They aren't "better" but the East is. For Atlanta - Put Collins in for the games he missed and we win 3-6 more games. Add Capela all of last year and we win another 5. Cam and Hunter were not good to start the season, Cam woefully so. Get end of season Cam/Hunter for the full year and you win at least 3 more. BB would be good for 2 more (maybe), Gali 2 more. Dunn/Rondo another 3-5 total. So if this was the roster last year I see 16-21 more wins at least. That would have changed the record from 36-36 to 41-36. this would have been good for 6-7th in the East. I think this is reasonable for the Hawks. Note: if you give Atlanta 16-21 more wins, some of those wins take wins away/add losses to Eastern Conference opponents. IMHO, this roster would have been good for the 6th seed last year at least.
  14. True story. I entered the Army at 23. I went to Bosnia at 25. I left Bosnia @ 26. My military records have me at 5'9" inches tall when I entered. I was 6' when I left Bosnia. It caused a bit of confusion. Entering that old man shrinking time now. I'll be 5'6" in 20 years.
  15. Easier than you might think. The hard part is managing all the cables for those fans. The case is the Lian Li PC-011D XL in black. Intel 10850k (because its what we could get our hands on), AMD 6800 video card, Oloy RGB memory, Enermax Liqtech II RGB AIO cooler and 10 Bitspower Touchaqua RGB fans. For the glass etching : Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream, self-adhesive vinyl and a Silhouette Cameo to cut the vinyl pattern. Paint the cream over the pattern holes. Let sit 10 mins. Rinse clean. Hard part is finding the right image and well...having a tool like a Silhouette Cameo. Let the crafty wife handle that part.
  16. He gave up gaming for a year and a half to make sure he finished his degree. This was his reward. Games and plans to stream a good bit.
  17. Wife did the chemical etching on the case. We still need to install Windows, and all that jazz so we can change the fans to 2 shades of red. But its done.
  18. Maturity. As younger players mature, they get better naturally. you have a lot of young players taking small steps at the same time. Together that's a big push.
  19. 25. @ Chi 17. @ Mem 27. vs Det 6. @ BKN 6. @ BKN 30. vs CLE 28. vs NY 23. vs CHA 23. @ CHA If the Hawks are for real, one could easily see 8-2 or 7-3 from an easy opening schedule and no West Coast trip to start the season. The only back to back is BKN/CLE. The schedule doesn't stiffen until Jan 11 vs PHI. For once we start the year with an easier schedule (on paper). Numbers are start of the year power rankings. Hawks are ranked 16th per NBC sports Darren Hartwell. https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/celtics/2020-nba-power-rankings-how-all-30-teams-stack-after-free-agency?int
  20. IMHO his 4 year extension will look like this: Year salary 1 25000000 2 27000000 3 29160000 4 31492800 Total 112652800
  21. Snell's base salary is $12.178 million. Any trade to lower someone else's tax or get them out of the LT altogether would be for a player making 17.2 million or less but more than Snell. There is no person on the Bucks who fits this criteria. DeJounte Murray or Rudy Gay on the Spurs would fit. Only Marcus Morris' salary or Patrick Beverly would do anything for the Clippers and it ain't much. Eric Gordon is the only possible LT reducing salary on the Rockets. Nothing possible with Philly for that salary. LeVert on the Nets. nothing on GS. Don't shoot the messenger. All I was told was teams have inquired about using Snell to drop their LT penalty or get out of the LT altogether. Those are your only candidates unless its a different player from us.
  22. Current teams in the LT and by how much: Bucks ($1.3 million) Spurs (1.4 million) Clippers ( $5.2 million) Houston ($8.4 million) Philly (8.46 million) Nets ($24.8 million) Warriors ($41.7 million)
  23. There are rumblings that a few teams still want to get under the LT. Snell's contract is being discussed. There is a possibility he is moved before the season starts for a higher priced player or at the deadline.
  24. Below are the games started for 1st and 2nd years players (+Collins and Jones because he's a scrub). Including Trae, 218 game starts by 1st and 2nd year players and another 68 by Collins and Jones for 286 out of a possible 335 game starts. Rk Age GS ▼ 1 De'Andre Hunter 22 62 2 Trae Young 21 60 3 Kevin Huerter 21 48 4 John Collins 22 41 5 Cam Reddish 20 34 6 Damian Jones 24 27 8 Bruno Fernando 21 13 14 Brandon Goodwin 24 1
