  1. I'm in 94.2% agreement with this post...just saying. Not a giant Galloway fan but he can be had for 1/3 of the price. Diesel isn't wrong here. I mean you could easily throw that extra money at Cousins, Tyler Johnson and Langston Galloway and still be 8 million under the cap.
  2. A long list of vets looking for homes right now.
  3. Pretty sure Demarcus Cousins and Hassan Whiteside are still unsigned.
  4. 4 stat comparisons. PPG RPG APG SPG 15.1 3.4 3.4 1 18.7 5.2 1.9 .7 12.3 4.5 1.8 .7 21.6 10.1 1.5 .8 The players, in order are: Bogdan Bogdanovic Danilo Gallinari Deandre Hunter John Collins For the questions on what is holding up BB...that's it right there. His production was roughly a little better than Hunter's last year but not quite as good as Gallinari. He is no where near Collins' production. though younger than Danilo, he is older than both Collins and Hunter. So how do you slot his salary? Danilo got 20/yr. This slots Bogdanovic at about $16 million per based on production. It isn't as simple as I'm making it but there it is in a nutshell. For those wondering what Collins will get in the future, look at the difference between his production and Gallinari. He shoots more efficiently, scores 3 more points and grabs 5 more rebounds per game. Danilo got $20 million, Collins is 8 years younger. When this foolishness was starting over a week ago, I mentioned we were coming out of this offseason with less rookie contracts and more vets. Gone are: Dedmon, Teague, Bembry, Skal, Jones, Carter, Brown Jr, Graham, (and the scantily remembers and short lived contributions of Paul Watson and Tyrone Wallace). Also gone during the season are: Parker, Len, Parsons, Crabbe and Turner. The below mentioned players accounted for 6,325 minutes played for the Hawks last year. Of that entire group, only Len, Dedmon, Parker, Carter and Teague provided any minutes worth their salary. That floor time amounted to 94 minutes per game, almost 2 full 48 minute players per game. This is a team where Damion Jones saw the floor for 886 minutes. of inaction. Our memories are short and we tend to forget what a fuster cluck 2019-20 was. 38% of our minutes played last year went to people no longer on the team. You can easily sit back and wonder how we won 20 games in a shortened season. Incoming to replace that mess so far: Capela, Rondo, Gallinari, Dunn, Snell, Okongwu, Mays and at least 2 players to be named later. Remember our current overseas stashed as potential roster invites as well. Also take into account the maturation going forward of Reddish, Hunter, Young, Huerter and Collins
  5. and this is where we part ways. JC's footwork under the basket creates opportunities for himself, rebounds and second changes for everyone and rebounds for others as he boxes out. JC's mid and long range game creates space for everyone else to operate. He is a "have a body on him at all times player". You don't get his FG% at his scoring rate on just lobs. JC is a very skilled offensive big and deserves that respect. He's a good weakside shot blocker and spent a lot of time the last 2 years covering for slow footed bigs. With Capela in the mix, JC will get league wide respect this year. JC gets drop down double coverage whenever its dropped down to him in the post because his moves are just too good for 75% of the bigs in the league. https://www.si.com/nba/hawks/news/john-collins-has-become-one-of-the-nbas-most-versatile-weapons Read this and let this be the end of this nonsense coming from anyone.
  6. Thing is, with the money and market NY has, its would be really hard to "F" this offseason up....unless you're the Knicks.
  7. I'm thinking about it. Spitballin... But using Wiggins as the option (there are other teams)....A trade of Wiggins for Snell has an immediate cap impact of $17 million. the problem is the tie up of salary for 3 years. Still, he is only 25. Again...spitballin. Could go 3 way...Snell to GS, Wiggins to Team X, Player unknown to Hawks. As long as the difference between Player A and Wiggins is less than $5 million it could work.
  8. I'm thinking if we move Snell for a much bigger contract, we would be giving the sending team an exception. A team like GS who is about to have an $80 million LT bill could use that. That could be used to fill up the last bit of space...then use our exception to bring back Skal and/or Teague.
  9. The Hawks only have a few trade chips left related to salary. Snell, Huerter, Fernando mostly. Technically, they could move some salary and take back a big one and then fill out the roster with vet contracts but IMHO it would be better to use that 26 million to sign 2 players then fill out with vet minimums and move snell at the trade deadline if things are going well.
  10. With the Danillo signing, we are at $26 million in cap space making a big deal less realistic.
  11. Currently at 10 players signed, still have 45 million of practical cap space.
  12. and you don't "need to". If you feel you must, go ahead. Not sure its going to solve any global crisis...but rant away.
  13. Oubre was one of a few possibilities out there. It was never hot...maybe lukewarm. One of the reasons you don't talk about rumors you hear, they can ruin other deals when simultaneous things are in the works. Especially if team A finds out you're offering player X to team B. They start asking for player X instead. I wanted his defensive effort. We could use a bit of snarl. We've got a really nice guy team right now.
  14. I'm a bit salty the Oubre deal never materialized as well as the other options we had out there.
  15. I was never onboard with Hayward. I felt the money was better spent elsewhere. I'd much rather get Gallo and Rondo for 1/2 of what Hayward is set to make this year. I wanted no part of committing to him for 3 years+
  16. Well, clears up $400k 100% aware...that was meant for those reading your post than for you....you know I know you know.
  17. Thomas takes one of the roster cap charges. Technically this move clears about 1 million in salary.
  18. oh ya! They gots them one of those...no where for him to play...but they gots a TPE
  19. Boston writers really love to start rumors. There is no universe, no matter what string theory says, where Marcus Smart is worth the #2 pick in the draft. Furthermore, Golden State is over the cap, they'd have to send back a ton of salary as well.
  20. don't be surprised if we get 14 and this is the pick.
  21. Biggest draft suprise who is fairly high on a number of boards. Too skinny 7 footer who passes like a point guard. Weird but intriguing mix of talent.
  22. Reading his twitter its easy to see he's in the hip pocket of the Celtics and was planting this tweet as leverage for the Celts.
  23. He's quoting Jared Weiss. Simple logic....Hayward and the Hawks had to be given permission to negotiate. Why would Hayward opt in to negotiating with the Hawks if he wasn't interested. The part about the Hawks leaking it for posturing is true and I stated this as such 10 hours ago. The not wanting be on the Hawks is nonsense. Hayward's team wants out of Boston.
  24. I found conflicting info on this. That Boston retains his hold until he signs elsewhere so the Bird Rights remain but another blurb that says the player is free to sign elsewhere and his bird rights reset to zero.
