  1. The TPE is the difference in the 1st year salary + $5 mil "Teams above the cap (or teams below the cap but would end up more than $100,000 over the cap following a trade) cannot acquire more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary they trade away. Under the 2011 CBA, teams that remain below the luxury tax threshold even after the trade can acquire the lesser of 150% plus $100,000, or 100% plus $5 million, of the salary they trade away.[5] There is no lower limit—teams may divest themselves of as much salary as they wish (or can convince another team to take on) in a trade." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_salary_cap#Trading_and_the_salary_cap
  2. For a TPE this big...they'd be giving up 14. It isn't worth taking on the salary for one in the 20's. They're also looking for a Center. Send them Dedmon and they have no need for 14.
  3. I went over the details here IMHO, this won't be an extend and trade (though its possible...stupid but possible). This will be something closer to Hayward opts in, waives trade kicker. Hawks send Dwayne Dedmon to Boston. Boston sends Hayward + one of their picks to Atlanta (I'm assuming 14). Now Boston is currently 10 million into the LT. If they completed the trade as I stated above, they clear 21 million off their cap. Thereby, they can take back another player via exception up to $26 million in value (rounded). If its an extension, it can be up to 20% less than this years salary in the 1st year of the extension. That brings the lowest year 2 salary down to $26 million at the least. Lastly....Boston can't receive a sign and traded player. But they can send one out. The rule prohibits them from receiving a sign n trade.
  4. Okay this just popped. Good authority this was leaked by the Hawks. There is a third team as well (undisclosed). They are playing them off each other for the best offer. The Hawks have had trade conversations with several teams for this pick, including the Pelicans (for Jrue Holiday, but that ship has sailed), the Timberwolves (for no. 17 and Jarrett Culver), and the Celtics (for their three first-round picks), according to league sources. 9 seconds ago – via nbadraft.theringer.com Draft, Trade, Jarrett Culver, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves
  5. Absolutely nothing coming out of the Hawks in the last 12 hours after a flurry of activity. Total radio silence. In my personal experience this means an NBA team is working on something and its about to pop.
  6. The 2 players Atlanta should be positioning for in this draft...a trade up for Wiseman, or position yourself for Hayes.
  7. You sir....do not know where to shop!
  8. https://clutchpoints.com/3-ideal-landing-spots-for-joe-harris-in-nba-free-agency/ Okay so given the above. How would you guys feel about 3 years, $45 million for Harris? I'm not saying anything...I'm just asking.
  9. That was the previous question to my statement.
  10. Dedmon or Lopez...who do you take?
  11. For what its worth, Robin Lopez just declined his team option and is a F/A now. Need to start keeping track of these as it changes team's cap/LT situations.
  12. That one was very hard to be quiet about 2 days ago when Diesel was bringing it up. There was Bertrans smoke10+ days ago. Supes and I talked about it last week and he got confirmation those talks were dead and Washington was planning to keep him. It was a few players possible....Bertrans and Harris were at the top of that list.
  13. We're one of the few top 10 teams that can afford to bring him along slow getting 10 min/night.
  14. Keyboard warriors - Alt F4's lead the way. Nothing like being present for a nerd fight and screaming "type him in the face".
  15. Not exactly! I've got that as something discussed but not imminent. Teams are still weighing options though that might fall now that stuff is done. FYI, Hayward has till late tomorrow afternoon to opt in or opt out. That's a domino that has to fall for things to break loose. Though they stuff today happened earlier than expected. Only thing I knew about those was some of the players being on the block.
  16. FYI, there is no evidence for this one outside of Supes that I've heard of. He's grown.

  18. On Court / Off Court stats Please see below. John Collins on court vs off court stats last year. Collins on floor was 3.7 points net better than Collins off floor. Both the Defense and Offense were better. He makes 1/2 of the average NBA player salary. He makes less than the vet minimum. You control his fate for as long as 5 years if you will it. There is no package that would be offered right now that can touch this. Many stats are shown on a 'per 48 minute' basis Stat ON Court OFF Court Net Minutes 1340 1855 41% Offense: Pts per 100 Poss. 109.5 108.1 +1.4 Defense: Pts per 100 Poss. 115.2 117.5 -2.3 Net Points per 100 Possessions -5.7 -9.4 +3.7 Points Scored 3162 4326 -1164 Points Allowed 3326 4696 -1370 Net Points -164 -370 +206 It is the same reason Trae Young is untouchable. Although team defense was better with Trae off the floor....the offense was a full 14.1 points per 100 possession better with him on it. On Court / Off Court stats Many stats are shown on a 'per 48 minute' basis Stat ON Court OFF Court Net Minutes 2085 1110 65% Offense: Pts per 100 Poss. 113.5 99.4 +14.1 Defense: Pts per 100 Poss. 118.7 112.4 +6.2 Net Points per 100 Possessions -5.2 -13.0 +7.9 These 2 are staying together.
  19. Oh he's tradeable...but the discussion is so out there that we would never get a package worth John. Further, John is a much better trade prospect at the deadline if you feel you can't get an extension done. Pre-draft is the absolute worst time to consider trading a player like Collins.
  20. In willingness to part with our trade chips are: Dedmon, Bruno, Huerter, (maybe) Hunter. (order of willingness). the draft rights to Alpha Kaba, Marcus Ericksson, Alain Digbeu and Augusto Binelli. Any current and future picks.
  21. Not a trade chip. I've been saying this for 2 weeks.
