  1. IMHO - For almost every team in the first round, their board should be Wiseman, Hayes, Okoro. Wiseman - best skills, natural gifts.....Guy is big, fast and athletic, things you can't teach. He has good instincts on D and better than average body control for a center his size/age. For Wiseman the only question marks are health, head and heart. If you give up on him for those and 2 of those 3 are good....he's the best player in the draft and you have egg on your face. Hayes - He isn't as good as that video shows him to be...but man is he mature. Mature point guards are rare. Many of his passes would get picked off in the NBA but his floor is higher than pretty much everyone else's in the draft except. Okoro - He is the Shane Battier of this draft. His floor is very high...but his ceiling is only a bit higher. However, if you want the safest, most sure fire pick in the first round...its this guy. After that...I would say you are now into team need. Anyone needing shooting goes Edwards, etc.
  2. He's drawing some James Harden shot creation comparisons. Scout chatter...not specific teams as of yet.
  3. Something for all to consider. In a small sample last season and arguably against weaker competition. Take a look at Wiseman's per 40 numbers. PER 40's - James Wiseman 34.2 ppg 18.6 rpg 5.2 bpg 76.9 efg
  4. They talked to almost every team in the lottery and were flipped the bird....no not Larry Bird...the real bird. Boston really tried to lay low but they are starting to reek of desperation. They are one of a few teams holding up what will be a flood of activity.
  5. Will will not be getting bad salaries! This really depends on the final deals but in the 10 man rotation, we would be getting 2, maybe 3 upgrades depending on your opinions. If it all goes down, we are a top 6 team in the East this year "IMHO". What many forget is how good we were with John in the lineup but with no real center. many nights we were playing 4.5 on 5. When Collins came back we had either...a hobbled Len (don't get me wrong, Len is a fine player when healthy but he played hurt for a long stretch), an overmatched Bruno or a near useless some nights Damian Jones and we were almost .500 with Collins. Add Capela and 2 rotation upgrades and you are looking at a .550 + club.
  6. there is also considerable buzz now on Killian Hayes moving up into the top 3.
  7. okay, the Boston crap is starting to break now. Expect this to jumpstart everything. https://hoopshype.com/team/boston-celtics/ For ongoing news and analysis about the team, check Celtics Wire Celtics, Magic, Wizards trading up in draft? The 2020 NBA draft is as unpredictable as can be. Rumors are all over the place, and teams are trying to trade up, down, or completely out. League sources say both the Celtics and Magic are trying to move up into the mid-lottery using their own first-round picks, and the Wizards are angling to move up from no. 9. 26 mins ago – via nbadraft.theringer.com Top Rumors, Danny Ainge, Draft, John Hammond, Tommy Sheppard, Trade, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards The Celtics have offered their three first-round picks (nos. 14, 26, and 30) in trades to try and move up, according to multiple league sources. So far, no one is biting. If the Celtics stay here, Hampton would make sense because he could serve as a spark-plug scorer off the bench. If Gordon Hayward were to leave Boston, secondary shot creation would be needed sooner rather than later. 26 mins ago – via nbadraft.theringer.com Top Rumors, Draft, Free Agency, Trade, Gordon Hayward, Boston Celtics Storyline: Gordon Hayward Free Agency
  8. 2 real concurrent right now...right? 1 big...1 midlin?
  9. I can vouch this is 100% accurate and there is really good reason he can't say anything right now. This is when relationships get ruined. Only the top people in the org know everything....lots of people hear some things. Saying what you say too early will burn that source.
  10. yup....they have that but can't really use that to acquire Kevin and their other exemptions are less than $2 mil each.
  11. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/cap/ This list doesn't include their 2020 draft pick. They are very, very hosed. CAP TYPE CAP TOTAL Active Roster Cap $148,218,101 Dead Money $666,667 Cap Holds $30,720,113 Total Cap Allocations $148,884,768 2020 NBA Salary Cap Max $109,140,000 Cap Max Space $-39,744,768 Practical Cap Space $-36,597,266
  12. A Wiggins trade saves them as much as $60 million in salary and taxes next year...ya...they'd have to give a whole bunch more.
  13. Let me take this GS thing further. The difference between 2 and 6. There is a $2.9 million difference in the salaries between the 2 slots. Because GS will most likely be a tax payer again and as much as $20 million over the LT. An additional salary of $2.9 million carries a penalty of an addition $8.7-$12 million for GS....for a flipping rookie. So the question you want to ask yourself if you're GS is: Is the player I'm getting at 2 worth $10 million more the first year than the player I could get at 6. They aren't in a normal bargaining position here of holding the higher pick. It actually hurts them. So the difference is $2.9 million - but if they could (and they can't) swing 2 for 6 and Huerter the difference is a savings of $129,000 or an LT savings of $500,000. Not a ton of incentive here except getting Huerter who is a bench player with Wiggins there. They only do a deal like this (or could) if they moved Wiggins for nothing.
  14. The thing is you can't believe #2 for #6 and Kevin. GS is functionally $16 million over the LT (we'll know more when final numbers are released). You can't trade "pick value" even though the salary differential for the picks helps even it out. GS has exemptions they could use but its tight....none line up. The only way GS trades out of 2 and takes back a player is to drop salary. There is no smoke on 2 for 6+Kevin. There could be smoke behind 2 + Wiggins (considerations) for 6+Kevin but even that would be difficult to manage because they don't have the resources to manage that without getting aggressive with their assets. I don't have specific information here, I just know what will and won't work. They can't trade it on 2019-20 numbers now and they would have to move some things around to work it out in 20-21.
  15. Back to Boston. They've been offering one of their lower firsts for someone to take Hayward and have contacted no less than 6 teams. They are looking for a SG/SF, SF/PF that is a 3 and D type. I was told they'd move 14 or even more for the right lower priced player in return.
  16. 6 days ago - Zach Lowe dropped this. This was one of those "gauging public reaction" leaks by Boston. This is what got me asking the right questions. "Gordon Hayward won't be a Celtic in 2020-21? NBA Central: “The buzz that I’m hearing is like the smoke, the smoke indicating that something is happening. I’m not sure what’s up, but I don’t think it’s a lock that Gordon Hayward is on the Celtics next year.” – Zach Lowe pic.twitter.com/b6IZRzcaNJ 7 days ago – via Twitter TheNBACentral Top Rumors, Free Agency, Trade, Gordon Hayward, Boston Celtics"
  17. I was fed a bit of info on the Boston thing and I just verified I'm okay to share it. Boston has been very quiet in the background gauging interest in their picks. They could even trade 2 of their picks for an unprotected (or top 3 protected) future pick. Boston would love to be rid of Hayward at this point and would give away a pick to drop Hayward and bring back a lower priced / better fit replacement.
  18. He is not a lock. Deni is getting lots of interest and interest in Wiseman post interviews has increased. The whole top 6 is a crap shoot right now. I wouldn't believe one mock draft at this point and at least 2 teams in the top 10 are trading out of their spots....maybe as many as 5. There is no saying who is going 1-4. Also, Boston got active the last 2 days. They are trying to package 2 or all 3 of their 1st round picks. Boston is only going to bring 1 rookie to camp in 8 weeks.
  19. GS has to drop salary as well. It wouldn't be 2 for 6 and Huerter. They are looking for someone to take their salary as well. It is more complicated than the guy on Reddit is stating. GS leaking they are interested in Oubre today is meant to apply pressure to the teams they are negotiating with...us included.
  20. Huerter has been an average NBA starter when healthy. His numbers are hurt because played a good bit while hurt.
  21. I think you're trying to match salaries here to make a deal work...but we are far enough under the cap we don't need to match. Dedmon doesn't get this done because he's too expensive this year (unless Washington thinks they can flip him). Capela is too much when coupled with the other players. #6 + Huerter + Hunter would probably work but I'm not 100% sure I like the Beal fit. Don't get me wrong, I love the player but I'm not 100% sold on the fit between Cam + Trae.
  22. Possible but shooting long 3's exposes flaws in your shooting mechanics. It might have been purposeful to exaggerate his mechanics.
  23. Moving up 4 spots at the top of a draft is usually worth your pick and a future first, maybe a prospect. Let me see if I can explain this without coming off condescending (I'm kidding, I don't have that power). Collins straight up for #2 would get this done. Why would we add #6 and Capela for Green? Yes, John Collins straight up (as long as he'll sign where he's traded) is worth the #1 pick in this draft...not every draft but this draft. You're starting a team. Who do you want? Collins vs Ball? Collins vs Deni? Collins vs Edwards? Collins vs Wiseman? Ask 30 gms 28 (bare minimum) will choose Collins.
