  1. From a money standpoint, the Suns have a functional 13 million at a $109 million cap. Oubre and the 10th pick = $19 million in salary. So if they could find a buyer for Oubre without taking back a guaranteed asset (say a future first with protections), they could have as much as $32 million in cap space.
  2. Been there, hate that. FYI, my line has gone cold.
  3. The Suns have made no secret they want out of Oubre's contract this year. It's a poorly spent 14 million. But they aren't desperate.
  4. Not a fan (though in all fairness I'm not a fan of very spicy/hot).
  5. No drinking, no smoking, lived a fairly healthy lifestyle (if you don't count fast food) most of my life. But yah, people are shocked when they find out how old I am. I'm blaming the secret as not eating condiments. My whole young life, we never had ketchup, mustard, mayo, salad dressing or anything like that. I figure I've avoided tons of fats, sugar and salts that way. But I tried ketchup for the first time at 12 years old (same with mustard) and because I'd never had them, they smelled overwhelming to me. Never could be a fan. Forced myself to learn to like barbeque sauce at about 35. Personally believe the existence of sloppy joes is proof we're living in a simulation. I can't stand the smell.
  6. Meh that photo is 7 years old.
  7. Bothered by the lack of good athletes available at the 6th pick. Tired of endlessly arguing over the difference between standing reach of the top 5 PG's available in the 2nd round. Here, you all need a distraction. May I present real athletes, squirrels doing a ninja warrior course.
  8. I'm turning 50 soon. Being in the senior zone is stoking some fears.
  9. The reduction is in the cap hit. In this case, there is no cap hit. We will have to see how it plays out this time.
  10. No...its not a waive, its an amnesty. You are required to pay the entire amount, but that money doesn't count against your cap number. I think the last time they did this you had to be over the cap as well...but I'm only speculating there.
  11. Well amnestied means skipping the waiver process and there will probably be prohibitions against resigning the player you waived. But I'm not seeing ring chasing on one year contracts either for most of them. They'll need to lock up something long term in an uncertain market. I worry more about a team like New York which is a huge draw in advertising dollars and has the cap to spend.
  12. Do you not remember my annual PSAs around bad rumors or trade proposals where we'd get AD for Bruno and a 2nd?
  13. This!!! Expect them to make some very positive moves this year boys.
  14. Coals cooling in the fire. They could reignite but for now they're just smoldering alone. Like you and I talked about, some contacts can have ulterior motives too. They push something they heard through 3rd parties and those third parties make them public and it pushes the story into the open. Agents, reporters and even marketing people do it. It's all about generating buzz, fan reaction, etc. Like a team could put it out there to their trade partner's fanbase all in an attempt to gen buzz and force that team to step up their offer. It's a very cool world in the underbelly of sports.
  15. We are both extremely careful. I would never burn anyone. We dropped something a week + ago and he and I had talked about it for a week offline before dropping it.
  16. Okay maybe I can say something. If the league does reduce the cap by more than $9 million, then expect some limited form of a 1 year amnesty to be added to this year's CBA. It would go something like, okay to waive. Must pay salary, must be for a player with 2 years or less left on their contract, no (or limited) cap penalty, 1 contract max. If that's the case the FA market grows but the number of teams with money to spend grows. This won't be announced (and we aren't going to hear anything definite) until the league gets a glimpse of the new cap number. It's going to be negotiated.
  17. I don't have anything solid yet but I think we have some other plans for that money. (and I won't have anything solid until probably the last week or after the bubble).
  18. We had a ton of guests a few days ago.
  19. You know that could be all but about 2 of us on here???
  20. In any other year I'd agree with you. But teams are desperately looking to shed salary with the upcoming cap drop. Those guaranteed but low first round picks are gold this year. Pure gold.
  21. GS is desperate to drop salary but remain competitive.
  22. Rare actual footage of me trying to convey my thoughts on the squawk. If you've never watched Atypical you've missed my life story.
  23. and there you see the problem.
  24. He hasn't been discussed that I'm aware of. I'm assuming the price is too high to grab him. Also I would assume as has been discussed recently here there would be too much competition at the position to trade up for him. That are large enough to move to make a difference. Only 3 making more than $5 mil next season. Draw your own conclusions. PLAYER (10) AGE POS. SIGNED USING BASE SALARY TRADE KICKER LIKELY INCENT.
