  1. Ball is lesser interest. Think of it like a decision tree. They have a few options. 1 trade up - If trade up, take door 1 or door 2. If door one, pursue x in free agency/trade. If door 2, don't resign Teague, spend that money elsewhere. They'll be more flexible if the move up is for Wisemean. If Wiseman is off the board, they would still move up but would need to be wow'd. They won't trade down unless they are sure one of Deni, Toppin or Okongwu is available there.
  2. Yep, they' moved on from MINN and have been talking to GS trying to force their hand. Same with Atl/Chi - looking for a dance partner that makes sense and Charlotte is more willing except they only have 3 contracts and are keeping 2. Looking for a third party for that contract.
  3. With the additional of Capela, Bruno should get to play more PF where there should be more feasting, less getting punked.
  4. There is no shame in a little self gratification.....uhm...check that.
  5. The Knicks have 5 first round picks in the next 3 drafts and a bevy of 2nds moving forward. Word is that they are talking with both Minny and GS and offering their 1st this year and protected firsts (plural) in 2021/2022 as well as minor cap relief if they can draft Ball. No other team has the cap relief potential and/or future picks that Atlanta and NY has. NY is the only team in the race. Atlanta and Charlotte have talked extensively about a move up to 3 if Wiseman or Ball (interest but lesser) is available there. Atlanta has talked of a pick swap + cap space (Charlotte believes they can sign someone('s)), the hang up is the player involved or other considerations. The Hawks have little to no interest in Zeller, even on a 1 year rental. Supes you might want to ask your boy about the above.
  6. Hunter is not a 4, will not be a 4. He will be a 3 for us. The question you should be asking is do you prefer Ant/Cam at the 2 / 3 or do you prefer Cam/Hunter at the 2/3. Huerter will be off the bench by the end of the year. Based solely on length and ability to defend next to Trae, you want Cam/Hunter on the floor. Offense is not our problem. That is only going to get better. I'm sorry but this is not as strong a draft as the last few years. Hunter > Edwards. He is a better 3 point shooter and a better defender. You need a few things right now. You need a long term answer as the backup point guard and you need a legit young big man to push the starters. You have Cam, Hunter, Huerter at the 2/3 right now. Another 2/3 not named Jordan or Bryant is just not smart during a rebuild.
  7. Sorry man, I'm calling Shawn Kemp on Zion. I see him eating his way out of the league later on in life. He's a few injuries away from Frankenstein scars. If God wanted men to hoop at 300 lbs pounds he would have made shoes that could handle it.
  8. The heart wants what the heart wants. But I'll say this for Supes. He is passionate. You know where he stands.
  9. 80% of what he needs is 20-25 lbs of muscle...most of that in the lower half. That would fix most of his weaknesses. pissed if Wiseman fell to 6?
  10. I can dream but reality tells me you aren't getting Wiseman without trading up to at least 2.
  11. Okay so my project stalled while waiting on equipment to ship. Covid has caused all sorts of production delays in the world and solar is no different. My rails are now installed on the roof, waiting on my optimizers to arrive to attach to the panels. I now have a tracking number and am expecting my inverters, optimizers and monitoring kit on Tuesday next week. My batteries arrived in Los Angeles on Saturday and I'm waiting on them to clear customs and get on a truck to be delivered to me. All things being good, my system will be fully installed by the end of next week and commissioned by Sept 15th.
  12. You see that's crazy to me.....Edwards is the one guy I don't want in the draft because I see him as redundant and in need of serious polish. For me it would go Wiseman, Ball, Toppin at the top 3. Edwards is more of a 6-8 player to me. He is far too ball dominant and requires a high volume of shots. Edwards next to Sexton in Cleveland is the perfect fit to me. Someone who could take 10 touches a game out of his hand and iso. Edwards really, really needs to spend a year working on drawing contact. That is where his money would be made at the next level.
  13. and if you want a reason for concern video, you watch the Anthony Edwards video. With a shot as consistent as his, he should not be missing that bad. The decision making is a concern because its an unknown. Do you blame it on his teammates lake of talent or the system.
  14. To be fair on 2 - I don't see him as stiff when defending or rebounding. I only see it when he's handling the ball and as a jump shooter.
  15. Take the top 10 players likely to be drafted and watch their weaknesses videos. It goes a long way toward deciding how players should be ranked (based on team need). I think we all spend too much time looking at highlight videos. Lowlight videos complete the picture.
  16. He could be. he has potential. There is a lot of Stoudemire/Josh Smith in his game. I could see him being a long term starter at the position. I worry about the level of competition he faced. Let's face it, he wasn't being guarded night in, night out by 6'10" leapers. I would have really liked some tournament footage of him playing against a Big 10/ACC school.
  17. I don't know how much more clear I can be when I say "no criticism or praise". But since you now asked, there are only 3 weaknesses listed. In some of these videos, I see as many as 8 items listed, so only 3 is a very good sign. 1) Decision making. At the pro level, he will not be expected to be a decision maker most of the time. The pro game relies much more heavily on Guards and Small Forwards to be decision makers in the offense (the benefit of not playing against the zone). This "negative" aspect of his game is a very small knock (IMHO). 2) Being stiff - Not much he can do about this and he's only going to get stronger, thicker. This one concerns me a bit if he is expected to be a multi-faceted threat. He'll need to greatly improve his inside game and work with a shooting coach on fluidity (exact opposite issue as what Cam had). This is the greatest concern to me but its very workable in the right system, with the right work. He should never be handling the ball in traffic and should have to snap a wrist rubber band every time he tries to drive at guards. 3) Reluctance to shoot - I didn't see this as a negative at all. If I didn't see this, I'd think he was a right handed Josh Smith clone (think about it, about 70% of his game is Josh Smith). But one of the bigger mistakes players make is forcing things they aren't comfortable doing. I'm okay with this "negative".
  18. Not criticism or praise here, but one thing I like to do when scouting these picks is looking at their weaknesses videos.
  19. Another brilliant observation from a Squawker. Lot of people forget that systems come, go and come back. Innovation and reinvention often fuels championship runs. Getting opinions from different generations can make a huge difference (basketball, business, life).
  20. I think if the Hawks are + .500 and JC is having a 20/10 year, there is a good shot. The record and playoff appearances has a bigger influence than talent.
  21. I completely believe JC will be an all-star with a full season with Trae. There are very few I would trade for him. Way too many pluses to focuses on his minuses.
  22. Depends on where people are in their process. When you see 3 years left, its really 2 because you can always move that player in his expiring year. So us a few years ago, pre Trae draft...ya we would have bit. Even rebuilding you have to sell tickets and hope sells tickets.
  23. They are very much going to have to pay someone to take him. They obviously aren't giving up #2 this year but it may take a few top 10 protected 1sts.
