  1. That never stopped...what they aren't interested in is meeting the extension demand and the higher 1st. But the talks went cold because Drummond wanted some guarantees they aren't ready to meet. He's thinking 30 mil a year for the next contract +.
  2. FYI, Portland is shopping Hassan Whiteside for a high second and cap relief. They are currently 6.4 million over the cap again and would love to get under the threshold. Current estimated tax bill is about $10 million.
  3. He's out another 7-10 days...looking like a criteria fail.
  4. The Capela rumor is meant to put pressure on Det and OKC to move off their demands
  5. @ahf FYI, when we made this bet there were 45 games left in the year. Len has already missed 5 due to injury (I think). Basically he can miss 3 more at this point and the bet is still on.
  6. Just like last year, the thread is not aging well. That is not to say that Trae has pulled away but the number suggest pulled back even for the year and has outplayed Luka for about 2 months.
  7. and there's the rub and the purpose of the thread.
  8. I'm up very early this morning preparing for another certification exam, reading the news and looking at the standings. Man the East is bad. Like dog farts after getting into last night's Chinese food bad. Brooklyn is currently 8th and Orlando 7th. The teams are 7 and 5 games under 500 respectively. Regardless of all the injuries, the 25 game Collins suspension and playing 1/2 a season with only 1 point guard, we are only 8 games behind Brooklyn for the last playoff spot and 9 behind Orlando. We have 35 games to go for the season. Assuming both continue to win at their same clip. This would leave Brooklyn with about 35 wins and Orlando with 38. The Hawks have 13 wins right now but are on the verge of trades that could bring them 2 very good players. John is healthy and the rooks are starting to play well. We have 13 wins. What would you say if it all fell into place and the team finished their final 35 games 23-12 and edged out Brooklyn for the final spot. Crazy, I know but try to stay on topic. What would you say?
  9. I'm assuming he'd waive it for the right situation. But yes that complicates things if he doesn't.
  10. But just Turner, 5 million differential...add more salary, numbers skew a tad. and fyi, for tax paying teams, the 19.6 rule no matter what the situation.
  11. For non-taxpaying teams (again, they must be under the tax level after the trade), the salaries that can be acquired depend on the total salaries the team is trading away: Non-Taxpaying Teams Outgoing salary Maximum incoming salary $0 to $6,533,333 175% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,0005 $6,533,334 to $19.6 million The outgoing salary plus $5 million5 $19.6 million and up 125% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000 So technically it isn't a hard 5 million but that's a good rule to follow at the 20 million range which is where we'd be. Exact math: Turner + Bruno = $20,006,556. x 1.25 = $25,008,195 + $100,000. $25,108,195 or 700k too little to trade for Adams.
  12. At which point trade rules kick in and the rule is $5million differential.
  13. The math is really simple. Adams makes $25,842,697 this year. Any player/players Atlanta sends them must add up to between $20,842,697 and $30,842,697. Assuming Turner is the trade piece and not Parsons. The other player/players must equal at least $2,236,141 and no more than 12 million. Bruno maxes 1.4 million. It isn't Bruno. Jones makes Jones makes 2.3 million and Huerter 2.6. Len makes 4.1. Of the 3, Jones by far had the worst game and was out of place time and again following the big out of the lane and leaving it open. Confused with movement would be a very weird criticism of a SG on defense. They chase off screens. Therefore, target is Jones.
  14. Oh it's a 2018 Jeep Compass Latitude with upgrades and less than 15k miles....7k is way, way less than what it's worth wholesale. Totaling was never a consideration.
  15. Disabled Player Exception Allows a team that is over the cap see above...that is not us.
  16. 2 points - 1) Trae will be getting a max contract in 2.5 years. Collins will be getting a max or near max contract in 1.5 years. 2) The max cap at 6 or less years is 25% of the cap, > 6 years = 30% of the cap. So lets tackle Trae and Collins first. Even though it will be higher in 22 and 23, we will use the projected cap for 2021-2022 season for all numbers. $125 million/$151 (LT). Although the cap is going to be $116 million next year, there is an inherent increase of the cap 1 and 2 years after that minimizing the effect of signings at max this year. Drummond will be eligible for 30% of the cap next year max or starting at 34.8 million next year. Trae and Collins would be eligible for 25% of the next cap starting at 31,25 million 2 years from now for Collins and 3 years from now for Trae. Let's assume you give Trae the max and 90% of the max to Collins or $31.25 million and $28.125 million. Also remembering you will have to resign Huerter, Reddish and Cam within 4 years. Let's also assume at this point the LT and not the Cap becomes the sticking point in 23-24 when all have to be signed. You have $59.375 million tied up in Collins and Trae. If you gave Drummond the max you're well over $90 million for 3 players, leaving only $61 million for 12 other players to avoid the LT and this is the time frame you are projecting you are a top 4 team going after the championship. It is my opinion you have to allow closer to $70 million for those other 12 players (minimum). So simple math is 151-$59-Center = $70 million. $92 million - Center = $70 million. In this case, you would have to spend $22 million for a Center in 23-24 maximum in order to avoid the LT. So the Hawks and Drummond are probably $8 million per season or about $32 million total apart. All numbers are assumptions on my part and dependent on the cap beyond 21-22 and the development of all players/pick slotting, etc.
  17. Yep all good, it's just a lot of busy work.
  18. Mostly cosmetic, bent pillar. But the did have to replace the dash. Falling glass scraped it up and glass fell inside that had to be vacuumed from the vents.
  19. Only a year and a half old so not enough to total.
  20. That was the impact point. Exploded there and fell down the sides scraping the whole thing up.
  21. Bah, cant get hit to insert ob mobile
  22. American Family Insurance and they have been spot on. No complaints. Proving I'm not the smartest person in the room, I opened the back door mid storm to take a look. When I saw rain coming in from multiple directions and heard the sound, I knew what it was. We're fine. Missing a ton of shingles. But it picked up my tool shed and dropped it right on the son's windshield and hit every side of the car. $7,000 damage.
