  1. Which is why we aren't engaged (yet). I'm telling you. I keep telling you. The target for us is Whiteside, not Dragic. They just need to pay up for us to make it happen. They do Whiteside for Plumlee plus fill (about 3 mil) and we clear that Pesky 13 million they need moved to make this happen without hoops to jump through. But Whiteside sucks you say....who sucks worse....Plumlee at 12 or Whiteside for 27 for 1 year? I'll wait.
  2. Sad thing is how few people will get those as they've never seen the show.
  3. So start your conversation with Then move to But then just as he's taking that celebration swig be like and watch your friend be all Okay I'm all done....Love that show...back to fantasies of winning
  4. For example: Schlenk right before a draft night trade.
  5. No I wanted you to do it!!! Damn man....I thought we were tight.
  6. Happier note, I need you to make me some Gifs involving American Gods. There are a litany of scenes from that show that would apply today.
  7. Including Dragic's player option, they are currently $8+ million into the LT with 13 players. 4 of those players are Non guaranteed for about 7 million. Even renouncing all players and waiving their non-guarantees, Miami would be 1 million into the LT with 6 players left to sign. They can't get below the LT without trading someone away first. If Dragic goes elsewhere, they move significantly under the LT but any deal for Butler that adds 17 million to their salary number pushes them into the LT again. So any trade involving Butler and Dragic would require the difference between Butler's new salary and Dragic's new salary being no more than 125%. The current rumor is the 76er's are willing to take Josh Richardson's salary as part of any 3 way deal. So with Dragic + Richardson you have outgoing salary of about $28 million meaning Miami can take in as much as $35 million first year. Yes this is alive, it just requires moving pieces. I'd say likelihood is low but possible. The problem is finding the team willing to take on Dragic. So why do they have to take on Dragic. Because Miami still won't have space to sign Butler in to and if the deal is only Richardson for Butler, trade rules barring Butler from making 5 million more than Richardson's salary kick in. It needs to be both players to satisfy giving Miami enough to give Butler his salary. My opinion is they are a pawn right now. and you're lucky Monday is my day off. No way in hell I'm typing all this nonsense today on my phone.
  8. Again...don't get wrapped up into this. Many of these teams are going to need to trade away salary to make these deals happen. We are going to grab someone else's scraps.
  9. I detailed it below...but now need to dive into how we quote /quote now so it doesn't look so awful.
  10. Russell's hold is 21 million but this depends on the value of his sign and trade. Iggy's deal is 17 million. http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q86
  11. I think in 2 years barring something amazing, Bruno will be the starter at the 5. Just not today.
  12. What he looked like a few weeks ago.
  13. He's losing weight...we posted videos...look for the pink shorts. His metrics "defensively" are in line or better than Dedmon's.
  14. It'll just take time to readjust his instincts. College teams play zones....the more zone they play the longer it takes for 1's and 5's to adjust and the better Iso players look when they get to the pro's. The zone kills iso which is why all of a sudden Jordan went from 17 a game in college to world beater...Joe Johnson went from 16 per game to world beater and why RJ Barrett is going to be amazing.....way less hands whacking away at dribble drives. Strong guards that bully their way in. For point guards, the angles are all different and that takes time (see first 20 games for Trae). For Centers, there is no camping the lane, need a foot outside of it and need to stay with your man...that creates a lane. In college, centers start middle and move one way or the other to cover the drive. In the pro's, they start outside the lane and need the mobility get across the lane to stop penetration on the other side...leaving their man and then bam, the dish for the slam. It takes time to get the timing and instincts right. Also takes foot speed. It is the one, major flaw in Alex Len's game. He can't get from one side of the lane to the other. See every time someone got a lay up on him last year and its him being late to cover because he's slow.
  15. Because we have Spellman and Bruno now and if we're keeping a center it should only be if its a significant upgrade.
  16. Short term no, long term probably. They play heavy zone there where the center plays center field. He's going to take quite a bit of time to get a feel.
  17. And just to be an ass about it, Spellman's opponent PER @ the 5 was better than Dedmon's last year.
  18. I dont know how many time I need to say it, the metrics say we were better last year when Len was on the floor.
  19. The base stats show Len > Dedmon and it isn't close. But what that doesn't show is team defense impact which the eye test favors Dedmon. So stats show the offense was 1.4 pp48 better with Dedmon on the floor vs Len but the defense was 2.1 pp48 worse with Dedmon on the floor vs Len. So net impact (average) was Len > Dedmon by .7 points per 48. However, the team gets better defensively with Dedmon off the floor by 1.3 points but the defense is better with Len on the floor than off by 2.2 points. So defensively team wise Len > Dedmon. Dedmon Stat ON Court OFF Court Net Minutes 1573 2308 40% Offense: Pts per 100 Poss. 110.7 108.4 +2.3 Defense: Pts per 100 Poss. 116.5 115.2 +1.3 Len Stat ON Court OFF Court Net Minutes 1512 2369 38% Offense: Pts per 100 Poss. 109.3 109.3 +0.0 Defense: Pts per 100 Poss. 114.4 116.6 -2.3
  20. Also, he left off the salary of Bruno Fernando which will most likely be for the rookie minimum (about 850k). So adjust his numbers down by that much for the actual salary number. He left it off because they'll sign Bruno out of order if necessary since he doesn't count as a cap hold with no guarantee prior to signing. But for the purpose of math...adjust down. For the purpose of what they can spend...keep it as the article is written. Its just semantics.
