  1. So did anyone keep track of the bets thread offline?
  2. Excuse me while I take a second to pat myself of the back.
  3. #8 seed in East - Detroit 41 wins #9 seed in the west - Sacramento 39 wins (the internet is forever ) I kid of course. West records 1-8 we closer than in the East. Though 2 teams in the East had better records than anyone in the West. Rest of the posts in this thread are much funnier.
  4. At the expense of receiving a perma-ban. Reviving this one so people can see the stupid things they said pre/post draft last year. Check your own posts before dumping on others.
  5. found it....I knew we talked about this last year.
  6. Buzzard with the first spot on prediction of this thread. I'm really hoping people go back and read the nonsense they were saying just 10 months ago.
  7. Reviving this one as well for the Chuckles. Greg Willis (2nd one) was spot on.
  8. Reviving some threads from last year for the chuckles.
  9. TP at the 4....I'm imagining...... TP guarding Blake Griffin....TP guarding John Collins...TP guarding Lebron in the post. TP keeping Kevin Love off the boards. TP guarding Boogie when he plays the 4. Any big 4 would look when high school players hold junior high summer camps.
  10. "Nets Daily: From @BobbyMarks42 re: @taureanprince on @ryenarussillo podcast: “They like Taurean Prince a lot. They really do. I think he’ll fit probably at the 4 for Kenny Atkinson. He can replace DeMarre Carroll there.” Note days before deal, Nets hired Jeff Peterson, Hawks assistant GM. 2 hours ago – via Twitter NetsDaily" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The comic value of the trade has bumped it from an 8 to a 10 in my book now.
  11. I'm fairly confident that Huerter will take a huge step forward in shooting consistency this year. Monthly Results for Huerter Month Games 3FG% Oct 7 44.4% Nov 15 38.3 Dec 13 40.0 Jan 11 33.3 Feb 10 44.4 Mar 15 34.1 Apr 4 56.3 So looking at Jan, March....he's a 33.7% shooter (a 26 game sample). The other 49 games he shot 42.5%. He shot 31.6% from 3 as a SF but over 42% as a SG. My best guess here is he's going to play the 2 exclusively, get stronger in the off-season and more consistent. He'll shoot 40% + and be a little harder to push around (barring our moving up to take RJ Barrett). So improved Huerter, Collins, Trae. Crabbe doesn't have to ball handle or drive. That leads to much better scoring opportunities. Crabbe is going to be a 4th or 5th option and receive very little defensive attention. If he doesn't go back to old Crabbe at the very least, something is very, very wrong.
  12. You're a brave man. Last year the guys roasted me for suggesting a team would prefer to pick 1st in the 2nd than bottom 5 in the first to avoid the mandatory salary.
  13. nbadraft.net has him going 9 but then https://uproxx.com/dimemag/nba-draft-mock-2019-los-angeles-lakers-zion-williamson/7/ and then there's this https://www.nba.com/draft/2019/consensus-mock-draft#/ None of the mocks they quote has him in the top 14...did something change?
  14. So I've been looking at recent mocks and they have Fernando falling or nearly falling out of the first round...am I missing a story or something? See here as an example: https://sports.yahoo.com/2019-nba-mock-draft-30-pelicans-are-the-big-winners-with-zion-173924494.html
  15. Using his assumption of max space if both Adams and Deyonta Davis are waived you now have 3 slots to fill and a new max cap space of $23,048,410. But honestly, they need 2 more point guards if they are going to waive Adams.
  16. Okay so he counted Deyonta Davis' salary even though he's not guaranteed. But I see how he accounted for it. He has the wrong cap hold for the draft picks. * First round picks can sign for as much as 120% and as little as 80% of the rookie scale. Because of this the cap hold is 120% of the median salary for the slot. The only way they get that much cap space is if the rookie signs for less than is traditional for lottery picks (who usually get the full 120% except on cap hell teams.
  17. I'm going over his sheet now...its wrong...give me some time to figure out the difference.
  18. Renouncing all 3 free agents (mainly because you don't know what Dedmon would resign for and if Carter will resign here), you have 9 players on guaranteed salaries + Jaylen Adams who is on the roster right now unless we get 2 backup PG's. We also have 3 first round draft picks. Add that up and its 13 roster spaces taken up without Dedmon (who by the way prior to the trade I said would be resigned with Carter but now I'm not sure). Now waive Humpries and Davis. You are at $40, 538, 598 (see below, all changes made column 2 is 2019-2020) in cap space. Now the difference in salaries between Prince and Crabbe ($15,973,160) + the cap hold at 17 ($2,933,880) is $18,907,040. That leaves 2 free roster spots and $21,631,558. That's your cap space. I have no idea where he got his numbers. See here: http://www.shamsports.com/capulator - renounce all 3 free agents, waive the 2 non-guarantees except Adams and you get the numbers below. Add in the difference with Crabbe + the cap hold for #17 to get at $21.6 mil in cap space. Totals Cap: $ 101,869,000 Tax: $ 123,733,000 Cap: $ 108,000,000 Tax: $ 131,000,000 Cap: $ 113,400,000 Tax: $ 137,550,000 Cap: $ 119,070,000 Tax: $ 144,428,000 Total Salary: $ 103,572,575 $ 67,461,402 $ 96,315,834 $ 123,869,300 Cap Room: $-1,703,575 $ 40,538,598 $ 17,084,166 $-4,799,300 Luxury Tax Room: $ 20,160,425 $ 74,073,878 $ 122,090,698 $ 128,259,327 Payment: $ 0 $ 0 $ 0 $ 0 Apron Room:
  19. The value of taking back an unpopular NYer. And they didn't reject it...they just are holding it till closer to draft night to see what other offers come in. They need players not 1 player
  20. Frank is a real liability right now and very unpopular in NY. He makes 3 million more a year than Bembry and they need all the cash they can get to attract free agents right now. Bembry had a very good second half last year and really up'd his value. The total cost of 10/17 is 700k less than 3 alone. Sounds crazy I know but when you consider a 2nd roster spot to go with 3 would cost them another million...the total cap savings of the deal saves NY about $4.7 million that goes toward a free agent. People really undervalue the value of cap space....16 million in cap space just got us 2 first round draft picks. Think about it.
  21. It's only 1 year...its an expiring...he'll get flipped at the deadline unless he turns it around hard.
  22. Here's what I'm seeing happen. Don't kill me. All reports are that they liked Bruno when he worked out and want to hold on to 8 to spend on Bruno. The move for 17 is to package with 10 + other things to move up to 3. If New York resigns Deandre Jordan, they'll need about 3 players to go with him and have about 31 million to spend. They would prefer 2 first rounders to keep salaries lighter and then add 2 players. If they could acquire a good, cheap, young player in trade + picks they'll move 3. They like both Bembry and Spellman and that could get it done. They also would like to clear Frank Ntilikina off the books. A proposed draft deal is Bembry +10 +17 for Ntilikina +3. It's about clearing a few million in salary and filling a roster spot to clear up extra salary to resign Deandre Jordan and add lower star vet to play with him. then with 3 + 8 Hawks would take RJ and Bruno
  23. knowing it was Trae +10 this year for Luka you still aren't happy with it?
  24. So who do we have to thank for this? and are the donation links current again?
  25. Okay bro...slow your roll. There is a monster difference right now between what the starters and bench are trying to accomplish offensively. The starters are slowing things down right now working on ball handling, getting into 1/2 court sets. The bench is being encouraged to still run and gun. Go back and watch last night's game and you'll see it. They're working on things right now like its practice. Its driving me nuts but it'll be okay eventually. My best guess is Pierce saw something he didn't like in the run and gun from Prince's massive turnover numbers, Trae's quick 30 footers 7 seconds into the shot clock and certain players not running the floor because they're trailing the play and know they won't get involved. They're working on things right now. Biggest issue is the mismatch of Trae and Dedmon's skillset as well as Baze and Prince's tendency to gravitate to the same spots on the floor. If I were guessing by what I'm seeing, they're forcing some things to: A) send messages and B) improving spacing. I'm thinking Pierce actually doesn't like Dedmon and was trying to showcase him for trade value and its backfired.
