  1. Doncic really, really, really is going to need work on his outside shooting and he's really going to struggle defending his position in the NBA. 30.9% in Euro ball is not going to translate well to the NBA 3 distance, new ball, etc.
  2. During the few months leading up to the draft I posted numerous trade scenarios for Dennis. In each, I argued with other posters that he had at worst neutral value and not negative value. That the best deal for Dennis would be Dennis + low 1st rounder for Bad salary + high first rounder (or some variation thereof). In pretty much every possibility, I had us trading Dennis + assets for bad contract + better assets. There were about 3 of us arguing with the entire board on the subject at one time or another. I also at one point floated a very similar deal but with Baze not Dennis as OKC needed a wing, not a PG. Log on more often...we say some really crazy stuff after midnight.
  3. and there you go off the rails again. Lasted about 5 hours, and then back to madness.
  4. Current available F/A Centers/Forwards per NBA.com....some of these may have signed elsewhere and the site isn't updated. C/F Jack Cooley Matt Costello Marshall Plumlee (RFA) Marreese Speights Tarik Black Jahlil Okafor Clint Capela Greg Monroe F David West Trevor Booker Michael Beasley Vince Carter (not kidding) Richard Jefferson Joe Johnson Quincy Acy Tyler Cavanaugh Danuel House Corey Brewer Jakarr Sampson (RFA) Isaiah Hicks Luke Babbitt Nick Young and a bunch of guys who got zero minutes last year.
  5. That's not how this works....its not how any of it works. line 23 of the CBAFAQ 23. What is the maximum salary a player can receive? Are there exceptions to the maximum salary? Here are the league-wide maximum salaries for the first season of a new contract: Years in NBA1 Defined maximum salary 2017-18 2018-19 0 - 6 25% of cap $24,773,250 $25,467,250 7 - 9 30% of cap $29,727,900 $30,560,700 10+ 35% of cap $34,682,550 $35,654,150 You see..overpaying for rookies is far different than overpaying for 10 year players on the downward trend. A max contract for a 4 year player is $10 million less than for a 10 year player. The numbers/mistakes are more favorable. This isn't to say that overpaying a 4 year player isn't stupid and can't hamstring you, but their windows are tighter than say "Lebron" or "Love" (or more recently for us...Millsap).
  6. Nice...well with "communities" being cross realm that might be a thing now...add me gmcamp#1736 .
  7. I think you're thinking of the wrong Anderson. Anderson was never in Houston. He's played for Dallas/Philly. Career numbers 168 games - 19 starts. 14.3 minutes per game 5.8 pts, 2.8 reb, .7ass, .4stl, .3 blcks Last year in Philly 38 games played 13.7 minutes 6.2 pts, 2.4 rebounds. PER 36 last year 16.4 ppg, 6.5rpg
  8. Justin Anderson is a left handed Demarre Carroll before Carroll improved his 3 point stroke. Yes his defense is that good at 24.
  9. Well, lets look at In/Out Out Dennis, Delaney, Magette, Lee, White, Morris, Moose, a bit of Belinelli and Illyasova. In Young, Lin, Heurter, Spellman, Anderson and 2 as of yet unnamed F/A scrap heaps. Let's separate it out. Is Young + Lin better than Dennis + Delaney. I'd argue its a wash. Delaney could be that bad and although Dennis scored, he failed to make others around him better as evidenced by 82games.com. Heurter vs Morris - unknown but my gut tells me Heurter in a landslide (though minor total team impact) Spellman vs Moose - Moose can spread the floor but he's a defensive, hustle and rebounding liability. Unknown but at least a wash. Anderson vs Lee/White/Magette. I have no qualms saying Anderson > all 3 (again, 0 to minor team impact though). Illyasova vs 2 unnamed signings. I can comfortably say this is the only place we seem to get worse. Ersan's impact is much greater than he gets credit for. Now assuming Bembry is healthy and plays, Dorsey, Prince, Collins all improve over last year (minimal impact). It is safe to assume we will be at least as good as last year, based solely on maturation of Collins, Dorsey, Prince. Wildcard - How much of an impact did Bud have and injuries? Bud can coach and his system produced offense (at the expense of defense). We shall see but the one thing keeping us from taking a minor step forward here (imho) are injuries. The only impact player that left was Dennis. He was replaced with a better passing and defending Lin.
  10. Not splitting hairs but the $6 million savings on Howard went for Dedmon. If Howard was still here he'd be taking Dedmon's spot so the salary question is neutral....just sayin!
  11. No idea, but reputation is more valuable than getting a skills declining former superstar to suit up a few games for you. Plus do you really want him taking minutes from Spellman, Collins, Prince, Anderson?
  12. It's safe to say I know I would have gone to Waffle House to think it over though.
  13. And let's try to remember that Anderson costs 2.5 mil per year. Low risk, high reward. These are the savvy cap moves we've been looking for.
  14. My best guess is OKC will spend every trading period for the next 3 years trying to move Dennis to clear that charge.
  15. That you don't know Anderson is a forward kind of invalidates your opinion. Prior to the trade, Prince was our only true SF on the team. Bembry is a tweaner and a better fit at the two if his shooting improves.
  16. No, we traded Dennis for playing time for Young and this deal creates 18 million in cap space next year (technically 5 of that was already created when we would have rejected resigning Moose.
  17. So current roster looks more like that (Adams is on a 2 way, Robinson is not signed). So 3 roster slots?
  18. Depth chart post trades/draft Young/Lin/ either Dorsey/Adams/Maybe Robinson Baze/Heurter/Bembry Prince/Anderson/Morris or Cleveland Collins/Spellman/ Dedmon/Plumlee/ Not sure who I'm missing.
