  1. Collins line 9pts, 15 rebounds in under 20 minutes.
  2. Anyone wondering if sports is fixed? That ball is in his hand and thrown forward. How in the H E double...oh you get it. And the ruling on the field is confirmed?
  3. I don't know whether to applaud or smh. Sometimes I think your posts are the only reason I show up here daily. Oh what the hell
  4. It is a "misdemeanor"...not like its a weapons charge or anything that would require jail time. But we've all said it before...nothing good happens after midnight.
  5. 2018 - I saw a projection showing the Hawks picking at 2, 22, 29. 2019 - Their own pick again and Cleveland's (all things being good) - my estimation is something like 8, 22. So you're Bud and you know that in 2019 you'll most probably have a lineup that features. Dennis, Bembrey, Dorsey, Prince, Collins, +5 first round draft picks (2 in the lottery). The total cap hit for these 10 players...all team drafted... will be less than $60 million. You'll have $50 million to add vets to this extremely talented young group of which you'll get 1 to 2 star vets. Basically, it looks like a Kentucky freshman squad with all of the elite leaping/shooting talent. All you have to do is survive the next 2 years. If Bud can go through the pains of 2 years of 20-35 wins....The future in 2019 begins to look very bright.
  6. Dwight and Dennis did not get along privately. It is a very poorly guarded secret. Writer takes what I'm guessing is Dennis going "YES" and turns it into multiple players screaming in jubilation.
  7. Actually its less political and team related so its relevant here.
  8. I couldn't disagree more. There is a very, very clear problem with your "my body, my right" argument. Plumlee was engaged in the public arena. He was out and about with drugs. He was in the public square. Using your logic, a couple could have sex on a park bench in the middle of the day. It is their body, their right. A person owning an automobile could drive 150 mph on 285...after all, it is his car, his own life he takes into his hands. The reason people do drugs, drink, etc is that the substances have a mood/body/state altering effect. They change awareness, judgement and intention. When you do these things in the public square, you affect more than yourself. Even further, the act of buying drugs supports an underground industry filled with people who are subverting the law of the land. We can argue whether or not it should be illegal, but the fact is it is currently illegal and operating in an illegal fashion supports those operating within the illegal industry....ie giving power to the criminals that sell drugs. The act of buying (legal or otherwise) supports the industry and normalizes the behavior in society, moving the needle on acceptable behavior farther toward more dangerous drugs and other behaviors. Laws are a reflection of the attitude of society. He most certainly doesn't have the right legally (well except in Colorado and Washington) and neither does he have that right contractually, nor via the social contract.
  9. Piling on...if I offered anyone on this board a $6 million per year job with the only stipulation being you have to give up pot, how many of you would be like...hell no? Or better yet, if any of you had that job, how many of you would risk it by trying to smoke on the down low? Anyone that does is a moron.
  10. Only 2 issues with this. 1. I was a serious fan of Scott. 2. Scott was caught with way more than just a joint. And with that said, I was for releasing Plumlee before this. I couldn't care less about him either way.
  11. The randomly mentioned thought on this trade on talk radio was Thomas is 28 with a recovering hip issue. Irving is just 25 but with a recurring knee/joint issue. In both cases, either team could get screwed by the injury factor. This makes Cleveland getting Crowder + 2018 1st pretty huge.
  12. Kyrie has bad knees at 25....not a good sign for "entering his prime".
  13. Since the offseason began, Notable Boston in: Gordon Hayward Kyrie Irving Marcus Morris Jayson Tatum Notable Boston out: Isaiah Thomas Jae Crowder Avery Bradley Kelly Olynyk Tyler Zeller Gerald Green Amir Green Jonas Jerebko In order to drop these 8 players and add the 4 above, the Celtics increased team payroll this year by $10 million. Am I crazy here or did they take a huge step back, especially defensively and who the heck is playing center now...Al? Oh ya and they lost a 2017 and 2018 draft pick in the deal yesterday. Just nuts.
  14. and I'd join that by saying gaining Crowder more than makes up for anything Cleveland lost. This is a win for Cleveland.
  15. yes, but a dump into the post isn't always a shot. Many times that dump in is an immediately kick out to reset positioning, a cut off the big on the opposite side or a spot up 3. The point is, tossing it in to Dwight in the post forces the Defense to move, to deal with a different threat. Failing to do so limited the hawks to only one offensive play....Dennis ISO for the drive finishing with a score, turnover (often attributed to who he passed to, not his too deep drive and pass at the ankles), a Dennis miss or assist. Well more often than a missed Dwight post, the result of a Dennis ISO was a bad pass or missed layup. Mainly because the defense knew it was coming and had time to get set. The point of the Dwight post is offensive set diversity. It isn't about Dwight scoring or not scoring. It is the number of good things that can happen when defense has to collapse.
  16. Mark the tape here please so we can go back and laugh a bit together.

  19. Sorry but I agree with him. The difference between Pop and Bud is that Pop molds his system to his talent. Bud tries to mold the talent to the system. The system is only as good as the fit. You take a hard rebounding, space absorbing big and put him in a system that needs space and gives up rebounds for quality shots.....they don't mix.
  20. Trade off for the new penalties for resting players.
  21. Hawks had serious interest in Reed before signing Dedmon. We dodged a bullet. Reed arrested for domestic violence. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-newest-clipper-willie-reed-arrested-domestic-violence-charge-170404502.html
  22. Sadly he is going to get credit for the Minny pick because it will be made under his watch and the Cleveland pick if he's still here. Neither of those belong to him.
  23. Sent out Howard, Millsap, Sefalosha, Hardaway, Humphries, 31st pick in the draft, $12,000,000 cash this year, 3 million next. Brought in Plumlee, Bellinelli, 41st pick in the draft, Houston's 1st round pick next year (22-30 most probably). It's a retool though, not a tank, right?
  24. Stop it...stop that right now. You and I are not supposed to agree.
