  1. Yes but all reports are that teams are contacting Atlanta about working out a sign and trade...multiple teams involved with Sap...his agent is working out the best offer and the Hawks get a say in that they get a choice of what contracts to take back...salary is insignificant when you consider the Hawks aren't over the cap now.
  2. Rubio can't shoot. Teague can. They need a PG who can be somewhat of a threat from outside to free up their slash/post game.
  3. Again, it is not a surprise. The Celtics need be be conservative in their moves due to the large number of players heading into free agency this year and next. Their cap space isn't completely legit.
  4. His value is 15-17 million per so yah, 12 is good and makes it a tradable asset.
  5. As for the Hawks, we are waiting for the Millsap shoe to drop so that his cap hold comes off.
  6. Just a friendly reminder. Tomorrow you will hear of signings and rumors of signings, player visits and the like. Nothing will be final and even after singings, teams can then work out sign and trades. Do not get too worked up tomorrow. The landscape will change dramatically day to day.
  7. Sorry I just chimed in to laugh at "if we are not competing for a title".
  8. We've been over this.....there is no metric that says Sap is better than Griffin. Griffin is a better shooter, passer, rebounder by all metrics.
  9. Hush your face. Some of us lived through 13-69 and have the scars to prove it.
  10. I always go back to the easiest metric. Dwight's per48 PER 23.9. His Center opponent 15.2. Net PER +8.7. He did his job.
  11. Then again, they could sign me for the minimum to play shooting guard. It would be stupid, but its an option. (I'm more like an all-star towel guy).
  12. In the post season he was 16.5/7 but it was due to system. in the 2 games after Leonard's injury, Aldridge was 31/9.5. That is what I was talking about. He dominated the next 2 games and showed that he is still a great player.
  13. Sorry but that is crazy talk. LMA's decline was due to system and players on the roster. His performance in the playoffs should correct that view of him.
  14. He really needs to work on his release. He's shooting from the chin/nose. Hands need to be above the forehead. He's going to get blocked by SG's. Its deliberate and low. He isn't releasing on the way up but almost all the way down. Way too much time in the jumper.
  15. No, she thinks blocking is a really cool thing. Announces all the time if people don't like her opinions, they can block her. What she fails to realize is that a message board is a marketplace of ideas and allowing one person to run a muck by ignoring them gives their ideas power that they may not deserve. Part of participating on a message board is exposing your ideas to public scrutiny. One should be ready to refute challenges to their ideas with actual facts and logic, not petty childishness.
  16. $14 million in cap space after the Butler trade. With TT as coach, they could move up as high as a 4 seed. Barring major injury, we should get their pick next year which should be 18-24.
  17. The biggest culprit (IMHO) is the NBA minimum team salary provisions. There is no benefit to teams saving salary anymore as teams under the minimum are taxed up to the minimum and the amount is divided evenly among the players on the roster. Teams under the minimum salary get a terrible reputation among the players as being cheap. Teams have to give their money to someone or they pay it in the minimum tax and in player perception.
  18. Those picks all become free agents on a losing team between now and then....if they don't get in the playoffs, the better teams in the league will pick them off one by one. Tanking isn't for small markets like some think.
  19. Traded • Adreian Payne to Timberwolves for • 2017 first round pick (protected top 14 and conditional in 2017 if Timberwolves convey 2015 first round pick to Celtics from previous trade, protected top 14 in 2018-20, else 2020 second round pick, 2021 second round pick) (?-?) on 2015-02-10
  20. OMG no it would not. The benefit of subtracting Baze for 10 is worth way more than 19 and minny pick. Remember if minny doesn't get out of the lottery that pick eventually becomes a second. Subtracting Baze to move up 9 slots is a Cap reduction of $15 million year one (approximately) and provides the salary to resign Hardaway long term. What you are looking at right now is Baze and 19 + future Minny 1st or Hardaway and 10. If I told you I'd get approximately $3 million in cap relief, the 10th pick, you'd get Hardaway instead of Baze and it costs you 19 + a future 2nd...you'd take it and run.
  21. 46 that photo is 5 years old at my son's wedding. I live a clean life....it really helps. And the two women in the photo are mama and sister (I have 8 siblings).
  22. So news that the salary cap for next year has been revised down another 2 million means the LT is revised down another 2.4 million which means Portland is now slated to pay another $14 million (ish) in the Luxury Tax. Time to trade Baze and Dunleavy for serious salary out of Portland and fleece them out of a pick or two. It is also going to cost the Cavs similar LT penalties. I can take solace in that.
