"As hard as I have worked to educate everybody on the situation, clearly I have failed. Because it is not a binary question of Jalen or Saddiq. Maybe tonight will make that clear. There are times when it will be. One of them will be playing and the other won't. Those guys, and (De'Andre Hunter). Those three guys. All three of them were in there together tonight... They're different players, obviously, but they are both really good players in their own way. That is often the case. We've got a number of guys that you have those questions like "Who should I play?" and that is something that I think our team understands. Players always, I mean they'd like to play 48 minutes if they could, you know, but it is harder to do that. You tend to get a little tired. There was a couple of times tonight those guys were gassed, but I am glad you brought that up"...

Now we are just too flawed to win more than a playoff series unless 4/5 are weaker which I am not expecting to see this year but this is definitely a top 4 team in the East and I think they can finish 1st.

Still Boston, Milwaukee, and Philly are built better for the playoffs.

Boston, Milwaukee and Philly just lack too much high-end depth but that doesn't matter in the playoffs. I think we are still short on high end talent. Bey while likely having a breakout year will likely get exposed during the playoffs.

I also don't expect any trades for us.

I expect us to be the big raisers and for Memphis to be the big fallers for this regular season.

Keep an eye on: Pelicans, Spurs, and Rockets

Watch for their decline: Cleveland, Dallas, and the Jazz.

Can you elaborate on what feel those flaws are?

Me personally (and I'm worried about this every year), I'm worried about our size/ability to be physical.

Needed to be a more spicy prediction in the mix.  Instead of best 3P% I should have said name any or all the Hawks you expect to be traded by the deadline.

I think my more spicy prediction would be around AJ and Bogi.  I think he finds his way by mid November, shooting closer to 40% from 3 and we become dangerous.

I think the number 1 beneficiary of us switching from Collins to JJ/Bey will be Bogi.  Bogi will need to handle the ball less with the emergence of the youngins, improved outside shooting from OO, midrange from Clint (okay I can dream). Bogi needs attention off of him to be most effective. Every time one of the other pieces adds something to their game that stops teams from giving help on Bogi, his percentages improve.  Bogi just needs space to operate. Collins+CC on the floor at the same time was a space killer.

Except his point started with trading Capela to start OO at C and get a stretch 5 to backup him up, so that top 5 center for $40 million leaves OO where?

The migrated like a crane in winter, you're right but the point on its own stands....but that's trade both, not just 1.

    2.  To your point regarding $50+ million in the center position. Here is where you are wrong: Clint is making $20 and $22 million over the next 2 seasons.  I'm anticipating OO gets at most $20 mill per so that's a total of $42 million (NOT $50M+) at the Center position. The overlap of their contracts will be for 1 year only and I don't see that as overly expensive.

Yes I agree, ideally you want to spend more on certain positions, but when you take a look at a team like Phoenix trading Ayton, they can afford to do that when their star wing is making more than our 2 centers combined.

And again, I'm not saying not to trade him it just can't be a Huerter or Collins type trade where it's more about money.  We can't have a constant revolving door shedding talent for not much in return.

    Jeff's has a point.

You can have both Capela and OO for $50 mil or you could of had a top 5 center for $35-$40 mil and Bruno. He's taking the "get the best starting 5 you can and hope no one gets hurt" team building philosophy.
