  1. Yes? Not really sure. Its never been mentioned to me. My assumption is yes but since neither has secured a starters position (yet), its not in their best interest to extend yet.
  2. You can believe it. This is all related to the DH stuff I posted end of season with him and Quin trying to coach him up. Everyone has been given orders for what to work on. Many of the guys have been using team supplied private coaching to work on areas of their game to better fit them into the new system.
  3. Yep and gone are the days of trying to feature someone to up their trade value. Lost possessions due to the front office wanting people featured has had a line in the sand drawn.
  4. Waiving VIT creates space under the 2nd LT line. Renouncing Trent Forrest would clear up another 1.8 million (stay with me here). The space created in trading both would leave us a near 24 million under the super apron. Almost exactly the amount available in the JC trade exception. I don't think they'd use it here but I do think they'd potentially use it at the trade deadline if we are competing.
  5. The dried kiwi. All of the dogs like it. I have no idea if any is good for them so I just break off a tiny bit but they all love it.
  6. LOL. Consider yourself lucky. Dash is 95 lbs now, is on a digging holes kick and has taken to begging me for bites of dried kiwi.
  7. I didn't mean to revive that with my statement on the Siakam stuff was meant as a fall back / leverage plan. The KAT stuff died a few weeks after the draft with a plan to revisit in Sept. I only know so much and so if I were to guess if we make a major move before camp begins, I'd say the chances are less than 30%, probably closer to 15-20%. Most every move Atlanta could make relies on acquiring an overpriced player without giving up Trae or Murray (1 of which now can't be traded for a while). I thought I was clear weeks ago but nothing is hot now as all parties are at an impasse and that only improves in Sept. The only exception to that was Dallas tried to revive Clint talks by involving a 3rd party but Atlanta hasn't bitten on that and Dallas just signed an emergency center. Tells me that's dead now too.
  8. Alright! Time for a giant distraction for all squawkers. Next time you want to flame a poster here over their Hawks' fandom, remember that you aren't Japanese and we don't have Hiyama Saya
  9. People on this board have asked why we say "we can't talk about that yet" or "I'm allowed to say". This nonsense with Siakam is a perfect example of why teams hate leaks. Think of all the names linked to the Siakam deal and all of the make nice the teams are having to do with the players involved. No one wants to play in Canada. If you were Clint, Hunter, Griffin, etc....how would you feel right now knowing your team was planning on moving you to Canada without your consent? and I blame the Hawks here. The whole Siakam thing was a fall back plan/leverage plan in the KAT negotiations. They should have been tighter in all of it.
  10. People could save themselves a lot bruises on the tips of their typing fingers if they'd read here: Dallas submitted multiple offers to the Hawks who didn't move on either (should have heard something by this past weekend). We didn't, so assuming Dallas part of all this nonsense with Capela is dead too. The Pascal stuff was dead 2 weeks+ ago.
  11. The trade doesn't fit the CBA. Over $7 million variance in the salaries....If people are going to claim fake trades, could they at least try it in a trade machine first? Is that too much to ask?
  12. I was just remarking to my wife that mid-season I was complaining about how under achieving we were and how hard of a time I was watching. I missed quite a few games. It's making this offseason feel incredibly long now.
  13. Some of that working we were talking about.
  14. The overpay would most likely go to the 3rd team, not us, to get them to accept the salary we wouldn't want.
  15. Small update: The social media stuff / Grant Shirley leak with Clint Capela is because Dallas has pivoted to trying to find a 3rd team to facilitate a deal with Atlanta. Dallas willing to slightly overpay. Nothing imminent as of yesterday. This leads me to believe, the Siakam stuff is dead. Dallas trying to avoid this dragging on till Atlanta has more options in September.
  16. I'll update whenever I have something solid. You guys can ask, but I always bring something when I know something. I don't have anything to share at this time.
  17. There's a long history of players playing in these summer events and coming back in better shape, shooting at a high percentage, having one of their best years. Here's to hoping.
  18. I'm going to make a terrible argument but hear me out. Those are the last 4 games of the year for Jalen. 21 minutes per game. 13.25 ppg (@59%), 5 rpg, 2.75 apg, 1.75spg, 1.5 bpg and +20 . That's 21 minutes....roll that out to 32 minutes and its 20/7 with 4 assists, nearly 3 steals and 2 blocks. If JJ gave you 20/7 next year as a 32 mpg starter with those extras, most people would accept that. I'm not saying that's what happens but it was a peak behind his potential impact. In 30 mpg last year, Collins gave you 13, 6.5 and 1.2. That couldn't continue happening at 25 million.
  19. Let's talk about that last year Al was here. We went 48 and 34 with Horford that year. In the offseason, not too much changed. We sent out Jeff Teague and turned the offense over to Dennis Schröder (weakening the backup point position) and swapped in an aging Dwight Howard for Al Horford. We also added Taurean Prince on as a rookie, giving him real minutes. We acquired Ersan Illysova at the trade deadline. The Hawks finished 43-39 that year, dropping 5 games. If they lost both Teague and Horford (at the top of his game) replacing them with Jose Calderon and an aging Dwight. How do you reconcile them only going backward 5 games and still being over .500. Its well understood that at this point in his career, Dwight was fighting back injuries and mobility issues. I'm trying to see the logic gap.
  20. You do realize in that 2014-15 season AL 'led' us in, he was 3rd in scoring and 2nd in rebounding? Also that he missed over 120 games the previous 3 seasons. The 'best' Hawk of all time missed a ton of time but took a 4% higher salary to ring chase. I think in this narrative loyalty needs to count for something.
  21. This is the spacing issue I talked about related to neither CC or OO being reliable shooters outside the paint and why Collins loss of outside shooting touch/loss of handles due to the finger affected us so much. There were large swaths of the floor that teams really didn't have to defend. It's why Collins had to go (at his salary) and why another move makes sense.
  22. Further discussion on this just isn't in my bag of things I'm willing to shave years of my life over. But I'm going to do some highlighting here and try to just answer the questions. 2. Are you saying data isn't facts? and on point, you've on many occasions complimented me getting things right. For example, the breakdown of Cam's shooting mechanics. So this "I don't see basketball on your level thing" is an unprovable passive aggressive shot that holds zero weight in any debate. This is exactly the nonsense ad hominem attack people are talking about. Data is facts. Its one part of the story and typically a very big part of it. 3. " There is really nothing controversial about saying Al is the Goat Hawks. He's the most winningest Atlanta Hawk. He's had the most career success of any of our franchise players." What do you base that on? Let me try this stat. Al played 9 seasons with the Hawks and had a VORP rating of 21.2. Nique played 12 seasons as a Hawk with a VORP rating of 47.2. How do you reconcile less than 1/2 the VORP rating? Nique played in an era where you had to go through Jordan's Bulls, IT's Pistons and the Bird/Parrish/McHale Celtics to get to the ECF. Horford had to go through Lebron in an era of the weak East. Your argument though ignores some other pretty darn good Hawks. Pete Maravich played 4 seasons with the Hawks average 24/4/5. Trae Young is a career 25/9 in 5 seasons with the Hawks and came referee interference away from leading them to the NBA Finals. In Horford's 9 years with the Hawks, he only led them in win shares 4 times. The Hawks record while he was on the team was 411-311. Basically, they were a 46/36 team average while he was on the team. They broke 50 wins twice in 9 seasons. In the 9 year span between 1984 and 1993, Wilkins led his team in win shares 7 times. The team finishes 448-372, a slightly lower winning percentage (basically 45-37 team). The team broke 50 wins 4 times in that span. They played on similarly successful teams with Wilkins going to more all-star games, scoring at a much higher volume while dealing with constant double teams and dealing with some of the best basketball teams arguably in the history of the game. See, all of the above is statistical fact to back up my assertion. None of it is "you just don't understand....you don't have my BBIQ". I'm so done with this. When is training camp again?
