  1. Right now, Jalen Johnson has a better put the ball on the floor game that Deandre Hunter. If he only averages 9 minutes a game, I will be first in line to fire Nate McMillan.
  2. I'm counting Capela's bonus is the difference. In reality it won't matter. We'll be going over. I know the bonuses were moved to unlikely. They haven't been removed yet and are still possible to be awarded. Best to keep those in.
  3. See Here: Out Huerter - $14,508,929 In Holiday - $6,292,440 , Harkless $4,464,980 Total - $151,094,491 for 13 players. LT Line - $150,267,000 LT room - -$827,491 Apron room - $5,888,509
  4. Out Huerter - $14,508,929 In Holiday - $6,292,440 , Harkless $4,464,980 Total - $151,094,491 for 13 players. LT Line - $150,267,000 LT room - -$827,491 Apron room - $5,888,509
  5. Trading Harkless for a 2nd rounder wouldn't create the full million. Remember that's another roster spot you have to fill. Vet min average is $2 million. So yes it creates some salary but we're going to operate over the LT this year barring another trade.
  6. No, when you include Griffin we're already $1.8 million into the LT. Marks isn't including Griffin. Add the rookie salary not on a 2 way and you're about $3 million above the LT with 1 roster spot open.
  7. https://www.hoopsaddict.com/nba-trade-rules-explained/#Can_an_NBA_Team_Trade_a_Player_They_Just_Traded_For "A team can trade a player they just traded for if the transaction was a straight-up deal. However, if they wish to include that player in a package with another player or draft picks, there is a 60 day waiting period before they may do so. The only exception to this rule is that the team that traded the player away cannot re-acquire him. He can be traded by the acquiring team immediately provided it is a 1 for 1 deal, one that does not involve at least 3 players." So for example, they could move him for a 2nd round pick. They could trade him for someone's draft rights. They could trade him for someone making 25% more than him + 1 of the trade exceptions (about $6.5 million in salary max). Or they wait 60 days to package him.
  8. Can you ever pinpoint me calling someone a bum? I was nice to Bruno and I wanted him traded.
  9. Marks is wrong....You have to count Griffin's cap hold. 12 under contract but the rookie contract counts even before signed. 1st round selections are holds until the player signs, is traded, or released.
  10. Harkless is a bum (IMHO) and I'll be perfectly happy when we pay one of those excess 2nd round picks for someone to take him off our hands. There are better players to be had at a vet minimum right now. He was salary to get the deal done and nothing else. What we get with Harkless is a salary that can be packaged with a trade exception to bring back a $7-10 million player. I don't expect him here for the first game of the season. I don't expect him here in 3 weeks. I could be wrong on both. I love Kevin and in 3 years he is going to all make us wish we'd never done this deal but he plays scared 90% of the time. Both Huerter and Griffin would be competing for the same minutes at backup small forward this year....Griffin weighs 24 lbs more than Kevin.....Kevin plays like it. We went light at the 1 and 2 guard and needed some bulk to make up for that. I'm going to miss him but Holiday's stats are almost identical to Kevin's with much better defense. Kevin has a better ball on the floor, get to the basket game but do we really need that with Murray and Trae on the floor together. Kevin became expendable for our new tougher, dawg mentality and I hate it. He was mine and my wife's second favorite Hawk and I'll miss him. But this is a very good trade for us in this moment, right now.
  11. This is the most amazing off-season I think I've ever seen and its only getting started.
  12. Hawks 2022-23 offseason Out In Danilo Gallinari Dejounte Murray Kevin Huerter Justin Holiday Delon Wright Aaron Holiday Kevin Knox Maurice Harkless TLC Jock Landale Skylar Mays AJ Griffin Gorgui Dieng Lou Williams 3 x 1st round picks 1 x 1st round pick Note: Jalen Johnson played sparingly with the Hawks and should be considered an In. Note: Tyrese Martin will probably play with College Park but could be in the "IN" column. @Plainview1981 @RandomFan Take it to a private thread fellers. Can I get a mod to delete the back and forth please?
  13. JJ did score 22 a game in the G-League fairly effortlessly.
  14. Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford and a top-four-protected 2022 first-round pick was the cost for White. But to be fair, there was no chance of that pick being in the lottery. Pretty much the same value.
  15. I have been saying for 18 months that other teams love Kevin and want him. A lottery protected 1st, 2 expiring and we should get a trade exception is pretty close to equal value that Detroit just got for Jeremi Grant which numerous posters on this board were willing to give for JC straight up. Bogi due to the health issues has less value than Kevin. That's why it was Kevin. You wouldn't have gotten a 1st back for Bogi without taking on bad salary.
  16. Why do I even bother posting Cap information. The Ayton trade would increase our Cap by $11 million. We are currently $6 million from the Apron and need 2 more players (min 2 mil each). Basically we'd have to clear $10 million in salary now to get Ayton. Its not happening without dumping Bogi or JC as well.
  17. This puts us at 13 players (assuming everyone stays) and right at $151 million in salary (a smidge over the tax line).
  18. This is a very good move for Kevin. He will get ample playing time with the ball in his hands, freedom to shoot.
  19. So this move saves Atlanta about $4 million this year and both players are expiring next year freeing them up for another move. This also returns one of the picks in the Murray deal. Remembering 1 of those picks came in the Cam deal.

  21. I still want an Ivan/Zaza type. Someone with hands of stone and a short fuse.
  22. Assuming Aaron Holiday's deal is for the 4 year vet minimum of $1,968,175, Total - $154,846,000 for 12 players LT Line - $150,267,000 LT room - -$4,579,000 Apron room - $2,137,000
