  1. So its a lot about what there is to do. Up north its too cold to do things outdoors so school gyms,YMCAs are a big thing in the winter. Everyone plays ball. Every couple of blocks is a small city park with a hoop at it. Its culture. Here things are spread farther out (has to do with snow plows and burying water lines). Less community play areas, more outdoor activities in the winter, shorter winter. We play outdoor games here (football/baseball). Growing up there vs raising my kids here it was obvious.
  2. JC and Hunter is too much for Simmons. With JC you know what you get and its not worth a Simmons with his head on straight but its a good start. A Simmons with baggage is not worth a healthy Simmons. JC for Simmons is a pretty square deal in a world where Simmons comes with lots of baggage but the salaries don't match. The Hawks would need to add at least 4.2 million to get a Salary match and up to $15 million. Hence the "Hunter is a throw in" statement. In this deal, they are equal value but not salary.
  3. The rumor is both to match salaries, nothing more.
  4. Screw you, I have 9 Twitter followers and I recognize the names on 4 of them.
  5. There are working agreements between sportswriters and teams where things are leaked to them and they get a "good by" date on the story, meaning the journalists are free to report it, post it, etc starting at (for ex) 3 PM Tuesday or a "this is what is happening, I'll call/message you when you are okay to go public". It doesn't surprise me we could scoop them by an hour or two or even a day or two depending on the material.
  6. Speculating from my vantage point, the mental health part of it is related to trusting his teammates and coaches. He was hurt last year when they took 3 days to defend him publicly after the series loss but the benching late in games over free throw shooting and some things said behind closed doors led to some distrust which may have boiled over with the multiple days to outright defend him. I think from other teams' points of view, there would be questions about his sensitivity levels as well as any leftover problems with coaches and teammates who come at him a similar way. Any new city he goes to he is going to have to answer the same questions in the media that Philly was asking.
  7. Actually Gallo and Bogi being discussed has been going on since early December. No idea when you floated that first.
  8. I'm expecting some media/social media conversation on this as well.
  9. I don't have the final offer. I know our deal as originally suggested was designed around Gallo, Bogi and 2 firsts in a multiteam deal but that info is now 2 weeks old. No one is suggesting what the final offer, argued package was. All I know is pretty much every team involved with Philly has rescinded their offers or has given a final offer.
  10. One final thought. Simmon's value has take a serious hit due to the mental health stuff his team floated to try getting him paid. None of the "legit" offers for Simmons would have been taken as serious offers a year ago but his value is very limited as teams are not sold he will play for them if traded for. They believe the sports psychology stuff is legit and not a bargaining ploy.
  11. Per 1 of my sources, the ball is in Philly's court now to make a decision. Pretty much everyone making offers for Simmons has said, "and this is what I'm willing to do, final offer." Philly has been holding out to see if there was a better offer out there. There are 4 legit offers on the table for them to peruse and they aren't thrilled with any of them. Its up to Philly to decide which deal they want. Per the guy, if we don't see a deal by the weekend, they will probably hold Simmons for the rest of the year and try to get something done in the summer. Although its possible we could see something right at the deadline, nothing offered so far for Simmons matches up with Philly's scheme, personnel or valuation. Contrary to media reports, there is no frontrunner because to this point Philly has been unwilling to budge. There is no such thing as a front runner if the offers are flat rejected.
  12. I almost shut it off. Wild comeback. Let's hope this leads to more of the same.
  13. Watching this game may not have been the best idea. I was already in a foul mood before watching.
  14. Dieng being discussed this week as a throw in on any deal.
  15. Dude you need to chill calling people out. You're clowning yourself when you do this. The "slander" is now being mentioned in media and on major name podcasts. You're ride or die with Cam is borderline intervention time. You can't attack people and not expect to get attacked back.
  16. They keep showing Cam clapping for his new Knicks teammates and its ticking me off more than it should.
  17. Kevin Knox's father questions son's lack of playing time. https://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/amp/kevin_knoxs_father_knocks_knicks_coach_tom_thibodeau/s1_127_36995678
  18. To be fair, I always hoped the relationship could be salvaged but had I said it a week ago you would have had me committed.
  19. I am....not slandering Reddish. It is what it is. He wanted out, most of it is things I've said before.
  20. The word on Knox is even through the reduced play and benching kept working. Didn't bitch and played hard when called upon. He didn't openly mope or cause any problems.
  21. Indeed, Knicks general manager Scott Perry was behind drafting Knox at No. 9 in 2018, when the team president was Steve Mills. Current president Leon Rose probably didn’t have the investment in Knox’s success. According to a source, some club personnel thought Knox should play. 10 hours ago – via Marc Berman @ New York Post Leon Rose, Kevin Knox, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks Knox, who hasn’t talked to the media since preseason, is said to be thrilled at the trade, which will bring him closer to his hometown of Tampa, Fla. “There’s not many miles on the Rolls Royce,” Knox Sr. said. 10 hours ago – via Marc Berman @ New York Post Trade, Kevin Knox, Atlanta Hawks
