Why did they get rid of Grant Long??

I like most of you figured that he did an above average job last season. I am not saying that SMitty won't do a good job but I felt that Grant Long was pretty good. Maybe they should have got rid of Bob Neil LOL!!!

Grant Long was terrible. What was good about the job he did? He was constantly stumbling over his words and repeated the same cliches over and over. Nice guy, good player, bad tv annalyst.

I can't agree more, because I didn't like Grant Long at holding that position, and I think Steve Smith will do a better job.

Smitty was their first choice last season, but couldn't come to terms with the frugal Fox Sports. With no end to the financial impasse in sight, Smitty took his agents' advice and played one more year.

I would guess that whatever dollar figure was the sticking point last season has been resolved or that Smitty just wanted to get things started.

After all, I think he made a buck or two while he played...how much different could an extra few thousand be to a millionaire, eh?

Wow. who is in charge of finding hawks announcers?? Poor Bob Rathbum. Long was terrible so is Smith. does being a former hawk automatically qualify you as being a good annalyst? DO they even have auditions? How stupid do they think people are???
