Admin
while he was here he could have been a big piece to our puzzle. Unfortunately he pouted while he was here because he didnt like to do what he was asked to do. Take him out of Phoenix and he goes back to being a mediocre player. For those who are curious, he had 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists tonight.
NickJYD
Looking at Boris Diaw's successful stats in Phoenix makes me ill. How could a guy that didnt seem comfortable shooting a 5 footer score 31 in an NBA game??
gsuteke
nice stats. my opinion is fu(k Boris Diaw. he did not want to be a part of the success that is........ THE HAWKS!!! LOL I am loving it. straight on up to the 8 seed baby!
jpierrek
i know; let BK keep making mistakes...j.j. trade would of looked good with just the 2 first round picks..phoenix would of bitten the offer...
Plainview1981
Even though JJ is playing well... BK and Woody are starting to look like idiots more and more. Woody couldn't get that production out of Boris in a 5 game span`
Lascar78
Maybe Woody but not BK. The truth is that if Diaw was here he would not be putting those numbers up. He would be the same guy who won't accept the role his coach is giving him, on a team that lacks good ball movement. A guy like Diaw is taylor made for Phoenix. Lots of big guns around him and a guy like Nash running the show. The fact that he is good for them doesn't change the fact that he is useless for us. BK would have never drafted him if he had gotten the green light to rebuild before then. He drafted Diaw to make up for JT's weaknesses.
Gray Mule
Great to see one of our former players succeed. Here, he was a round peg trying to fit into a square hole. He didn't fit. Who was at fault? Both he and Mike W. They just didn't mesh. B.D. couldn't or wouldn't play the way M.W. wanted and M.W. couldn't or wouldn't change his game plan to take advantage of the skills that B.D. has. A fresh start. Sometimes it works great. We have our own example. Zaza has been great as a Hawk. He didn't look that good with his former team, but here he has bloomed!! As for the trade, we must ask, if the trade had not been made, where would the Hawks be right now? Would we have the same number of wins, or more? I think not. Boris just proves once again, square pegs go in the square holes. Round pegs go in the round holes. When they fit, the picture looks great. He fits there. Here, he didn't. Premium Member Diesel Posted December 27, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 27, 2005 Some PGs make players better. I believe that is true of Nash. However, while Diaw was here, he got plenty of opportunities to go out and do something and never did. JJ came to what Diaw Left and JJ has been pulling this team up. We're starting to get recognition because we're beating good teams.
Packfill
I don't think you can say BK would not have drafted Diaw. Isn't Diaw the prototype for the type of player BK likes: Long, athletic, mutlitalented?

vdunkndunk
There's really no comparing what Joe is doing here and what Boris is doing in Phoenix. Sure, Boris scored 31...but Nash scored 24 and Marion scored 21. In other words, it's not like Boris is the man over there or the focus of opposing defenses. Over here, Joe is the guy for us, he's our leading scorer and gets all the defensive attention. Boris could never score like Joe on a nightly basis.
