Premium Member Diesel Posted April 7, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 I don't know why people dismiss it, but Al to Chicago for Chandler. I think Chicago has buyers remorse with TC. Really. I think Chicago may just give us a Sweet deal for a SNT with Al... Maybe they give us Chandler and one of their first.. for Al and a future first. Here's my reasoning. Chicago is begging for 2 thing now. Scoring in the post and vet leadership... While TC is a good defender/rebounder, his scoring ability is weak. If Chicago did this SNT with us and possibly swapped first with us... They could draft S. Williams with our pick. Save some money on the draft pick. Then they have enough money saved from the SNT to go after Nene... Us, we can get Tyson Chandler and Lamarcus Aldridge or Marcus Williams this offseason. That would Be scary.. Lascar78
Chicago has buyers remorse, but not that bad. Not bad enough to basically cut him, which is the same as trading him for Al when they can sign Al outright. Also if they did indeed lose their mind and trade Al to us, it would no doubt be to draft Aldridge with their top pick as a replacement for Chandler. Even with Chandler immensely overpaid, they still are one of the teams with the most money this summer. They won't do this. I think if Al is traded to Chicago it will be for gordon
Premium Member Diesel Posted April 7, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 If they trade him for Al, they still maintain enough money to sign Nene... Which I think is on their wish list too.
Admin capstone21 Posted April 7, 2006 Admin Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 I think there is more of a chance for Dalembert and actually I would rather have Dally.
Traceman
likely be the guy we are trading for. I would be shocked if CHI would trade Chandler to us for Al straight up and I KNOW they wouldn't throw in a pick to make it happen. Like you said, they could just sign Al outright. swolehawk2
So then we would draft Sheldon Williams... So we could maybe replace Al with Tyson Chandler & S. Williams...hmmmmmmm
Lascar78
maybe you missed the part where I said there was no way Chicago would trade Chandler for Al? If they did, I would try to get Marcus Williams. Maybe Noah or Bargnani to play at PF. I don't think Shelden fits for us
swolehawk2
No, didn't miss it...just figured you don't have a part time job as Chicago's GM.....so technically, you have no clue of what they will do...so I decided to dream a little about defensive bigs in ATL. Premium Member Diesel Posted April 7, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 I don't see Philly giving up Dally... They Have Webber, they have AI, they have AI, and they have the three point shooter... I don't see them moving Dally... He's had a weak year, but i think they keep him... Premium Member Diesel Posted April 7, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 I think that the trade makes sense if you consider that Tyson was a guy they signed to a contract under stress... and now they can use him to get a guy who can give them 20 from the Sf/PF position. What I see is this: Hinrich/Gordon/Deng/Al/Nene... That's a good lineup... All they lose is Chandler...
Lascar78
gotcha. I partly misread your last message. If you want to dream, I would say trade Al for Chandler, draft Noah, sign JT (replace Noah with Aldridge if you want to really dream, possibly replace JT with Cassell) JT/Lue JJ/Salim Marvin/Chill Smith/Noah Chandler/Zaza We might actually start to look like an NBA team... swolehawk2
Swole you were a Chi fan right? What does that mean?...I have been a Hawks fan forever...or at least since I can remember. Confused
swolehawk2
JT/Lue JJ/Salim Marvin/Chill Smith/Noah Chandler/Zaza Wow....I would switch Chillz with Marvin at this point....but I like that team right there, yes sir. Our guards would give up some penetration, but with Smoove Chandler and Noah playing help d we would be fine. Post play would come from JJ Chandler ...ZZ and can you say jump shooters in the house!!!! JT/Lue JJ/Salim Marvin/Chill
jezmund
I agree as well that Ben Gordon would be our man in Chicago. No thanks to Chandler's bloated contract.
Premium Member Diesel Posted April 7, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 I thought that you and mudderfudder were admitted Chicago fans. if not.. pardon me.
Traceman
if we got Chandler though. I think Noah and Chandler up front would be great defensively but I cringe at the thought of watching their post moves. I'd LOVE: Aldridge/Zaza Chandler/Batista Smoove/Marvin JJ/Chillz/Salim JT//Lue
Premium Member Diesel Posted April 7, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 Better would be: JT/Lue/Grundy JJ/JC JS/Marvin Chandler/Noah Zaza/Jackie Butler/Edwards Why do you guys want to penalize Zaza??
swolehawk2
No sir, think you have the wrong cat. Have been a Hawks fan all my life and am reminded everytime I go to the barbershop and can't say anything about the NBA.
Lascar78
because zaza is a horrible defender, and Chandler is an excellent defender, and a center. You can play Smith - Chandler at the 3-4 if you want, but as long as Zaza is starting we will get abused by talented big men in the paint. chandler is an excellent man defender, I want him handling the centers. I also like to start my best talent, and I think Marvin, Josh Smith, and Chandler will all be better than Zaza by next year.
