HAWKS:

This relieves the Hawks from screwing up a high draft pick and gives them a cheap PG who is deadly from the outside; he is not the best defender, but with Josh Smith to bail him out with blocks, his poor defense can be somewhat covered up. His shooting opens up lane for JJ and our inside players. Then, with two draft picks we are able to fill two positions - with #12 take a PG (hopefully Marcus Williams is still available - esp if Florida boys come out he falls or Rajon Rondo) and #17 take a C (Cedric Simmons) and with #33 take anoterh bigman center, but this time more of a project - Saer Sene - behind Zaza and Simmons, he comes off bench and provides strength, size, length).

Trade #2: ATL Trades Salim Stoudamire and David Anderson to Seattle for Danny Fortson

Why: Danny has experience, is a rebound machine, has attitude, and is on last year of contract - leaves ATL with plenty of cap room to land an 07 marquee free agent - and there are plenty of them.

This team would be lethal, very young, long, athletic, good outside shooters, shot blockers, can get up and down on the court, under contract for next 3 years so can develop together, and cheap

Probably will be better than last year, but still not a playoff team - but why be a playoff team with being about to be a championship contender - so, I think after one more year of developing and a good 07 offseason with free agents and drafts, we build a young team that can play for years to come on championship level

Lineup -

PG Sarunas Jasikevicius/Marcus Williams/Royal Ivey/Cenk Aykol (06 - 6.5 million)

SG Joe Johnson/Josh Childress/JR Smith (06 - 15 million)

SF Marvin Williams/Josh Smith/Donta Smith (06 - 5 million)

PF Josh Smith/Danny Fortson/John Edwards (06 - 10 million)

C Zaza Pachulia/Cedric Simmons/Saer Sene/Estaban Batista (06 - 6 million)

(06 - 41.5 million) (07 - 37 million - able to sign a max free agent)

This is a team that will be fun to watch for years to come.

Thoughts?

Yeah I'm a big Danny Fortson fan. He's a great rebounding power forward (except for his being crazy). Maybe that's a little rough on him - the highlights are him throwing chairs and elbows and stuff but he may have a softer side.

Could be a good stopgap player if he could hold his attitude together though.

i don't neccessarily think calling someone retarded makes you look any better of a judge of talent.

i like the first trade although previous posters are right about when he can be traded...if we can't get aldridge, that would be a decent trade..
