tmac13
Examples?..The only hidden gem I can think of is Zaza..Who else?
tmac13
Smoove was a nobrainer at 17..Gasol was a number 3, so you should get it right..Yeah, BK loved AL, he also loved Bender..Chillz at 6 was right a reach..Stromile 2nd? He has acquired talent, but I don't see anything above average considering where he has drafted..And you are right, he is a lousy GM.
WraithSentinel
Did Stro enter the draft the same year K-Mart did? If so cannot blame him for that pick. I don't remember who was all in the draft. I am sure a few gems slipped. From what I heard that was one of the worst drafts in the history of the NBA.
Wurider05
Damn that was a bad draft.
WraithSentinel
That was even worser then I thought. Looking back on it now and knowing what we do. Michael Redd should have been the 1st pick. Of course it is easy to look back and say this now.
Guest Walter
Quote: He does have a knack for eyeing up talent that others seem to overlook. You mean like Deng, Iggy, & of course Chris Paul? BK's alright but the extent of his philosophy is too extreme. He scares the [censored] out of me with "...Rudy Gay" on draft day. W
Plainview1981
Quote: Quote: Smoove was a nobrainer at 17. He was dubed the biggest bust in the draft by Jay Bilas, so obviously it wasn't a no-brainer. And he fell past 16 other teams, so obviously it wasn't a no-brainer. Quote: Gasol was a number 3, so you should get it right Should get it right doesn't have anything to do with evaluating talent. We aren't talking about making good selections we are talking about talent. Did he spot Gasol as a talent? Yes, so let's move on. And bringing up Bender is lame. First, BK wasn't an influence on that pick like he was with Al. And second, Bender had injury problems his whole career. You can't scout a high schooler and say "wow he is good, but he is going to have knee and back problems". BK has spotted talent and is good at doing that, but that is all he is good at. So JAY Bilas questioning it makes it not a no brainer? lol
