Lascar78
You don't see him do that because most of the other scorers just keep trying and trying when there shot is off, and often kill their team. When JJ's shot is completely off, he does a lot of other things to help us win. Assists, rebounds, you name it. He finds other ways to help. He is a much more well-rounded player than most other pure scorers
Gray Mule
Hopefully, the Hawk's bench will improve enough so that JJ gets to come out of the game sometimes and get a little rest. This was his greatest problem last season late in the year, as was touched on in an earlier post here. If he can get a little rest each game, he will be a better player late in the game and a better player late in the season. He was all used up late last season. In the middle of last season, JJ showed us what kind of player he can be for the Hawks. Breaking the season into three parts, the first part was learning the teammates and game plan, the last part was JJ all used up from overwork. The middle third was JJ at his best. We chuckle and say that Zaza has learned how to flop. In reality, Zaza has learned how to draw the foul. JJ should observe and learn. If Zaza can draw the foul, so can JJ. Sometimes the little things are not learned from great, all star players. They are learned from those players who have to do everything that they can to simply be allowed to stay on the floor and play. What do I expect from JJ next season?? Depends on what the other Hawks do and whether he gets some bench time.
