Weez
you think Chapman or Marjele were 'great atheletes' in terms of athletic 'ability and upside'... I'm jonesing for some of what you're having...
Teeareess
I've never thought of Marjele that way, but did you even see Chapman when he came into the league? He was an amazing athelete. Didn't he compete in a couple of slam dunk contests?

How do you think Marjele got the nickname "Thunder Dan"? It was because of his dunks. Early in his career he didn't like to shoot outside much and mostly liked to drive. He had good hops, was very strong and posterized a lot of players. it was only later in his career that he became primarily a jump shooter. Chapman was extremely athletic. He was very quick with excellent hops, although he wasn't that strong. When he was on he was completely unstoppable, but he just couldn't stay healthy. tmac13
Was Larry Bird a great athlete?..He wasn't as good of an athlete as Thunder Dan or Chapman but he was a hell of alot better basketball player..Who is the better athlete, Reggie Miller or Darius Miles?..Who is the better player? Is Stromile Swift a better athlete than Dirk Nowitski?..I would say he is..Who is the better player? We are putting together a basketball team, not running track and field.. KB21
Adam Morrison can't pass the ball, rebound, nor defend as well as Larry Bird could. Plus, Larry was 6'10" and could play both the small forward and power forward positions. He was a player that made his teammates better. I've always felt the comparison of Adam Morrison to Larry Bird was foolish. He's nowhere near the all around player Larry Legend was. Larry is a player that averaged over 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists per game in his career. Adam Morrison is not that caliber of a player.
