Premium Member Diesel Posted June 9, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 I think the fact that Shelden was DPOY for the last two years and found himself in the same class as Okafor and Payton speaks volumes.. He has been consistently good and Kaybee wants to hold that against him?
Moderators macdaddy Posted June 9, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 I can't understand why Hawks fans would be opposed to taking the one guy in the draft who is a proven commodity on offense and defense. You'd think we'd be tired of project picks by now. We've got most of our money so far in what we hope is a marquee player in JJ and 2 superstar hopeful 20 year old projects. Why would we take another one in this draft?
Admin
I think Williams will be a great pro. If both he and Okafor were available, I would take Williams all day because he has a much more solid body without the injury concerns that Okafor has. The only player I would take over Williams in this draft is Aldridge and thats only because he is more athletic than Williams.
Moderators macdaddy Posted June 9, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 My knowledge of college players isn't great but I'm feeling like that's the sentiment coming from the Hawks too. If Aldridge is there at 5 we take him otherwise take Williams. It'd be nice to have another pick this year.
BusBoyIsBack
Duncan wasn't 6'7 either. If Shelden Williams is really 6'7 he's off my list.

Actually, that goes without saying... However, there hasn't been an official measurement yet. That number was thrown out there and nobody can tell you where it came from or was it with or without shoes... My guess is that if you put some shoes on him.. He's 6'9 1/2. The world University games... listed him at 6'9. They also listed Craig Smith at 6'7". Click My guess is that they measured...
