Popeye
Maybe the reason Billy didn't offer him more is because he wants to sign another player or two in free agency.

Dude we already have 11 contracts on the team! Why would we sign 2-3 more players?

TheDude
if bk offered him more money, people would have said it was too much for an aging player...he offered a decent amount, it's not enough..bk will never do anything right in many people's opinion. the nature of the business. Johnnybravo4
If we can offer a 37 year old Cassell that. Then we damn sure can offer Mike James a 4 year 28 million dollar contract. Especially in light of the T.J. Ford trade.

Johnnybravo4
Because he is a big, good shooting, defensive pointguard who shot 47 percent from the field and 44% from 3. What the hell else do you want? Bobby Jackson?
reazun
I like Mike James. but I heard from a Toronto fan that we wouldnt want him. Apparently, he aint as good as we think. Or the Toronto fan just likes to whine
Yubs
But the guy also thinks hes the second coming of a young Allen Iverson. According to Toronto peeps, he often took ill-advised shots in the waning seconds of close, tight games, and many times they wouldn't go in. Yeah, he shoots a high %, but I'm guessing he couldn't make them when it counted the most. Raptor fans want him out. But browsing through this thin free agent market... I guess he'd be the only decent option out there. But he'll probably become the new Hawksquawk pinata after a few weeks, blowing close games because he refused to pass the ball to Joe Johnson... Johnnybravo4
Like I said before, don't base you view of Mike James, based upon Toronto fans. They'd criticize Michael Jordon because he'd take shots away from their beloved Chris Bosh. If there is any indication of Mike James ability, the Rockets want him back merely a year after shipping him out. The Pistons have missed his perimeter defense and haven't won a title with him gone. There is a big difference between backing up Chauncey with Mike James than with Lindsey Hunter. Which is why Chauncey played a billion MPG.
