Can we get a decent player for a 1year deal?

Cleveland has their eye on Jackie Butler now. This is someone that alot of the guys on this board wanted. I know he probably wants at least a 3year deal but what if we offered him 4million for 1year would he bite? Also what about the other bigmen out there like Cato and Olowakhandi? Yeah I know Candyman sucks but he is still better than someone like John Edwards. Why are we twiddling are thumbs on this Harrington S&T scenario, we should go ahead and offer one of these guys at least $2million to play for us for 1 season.

Has Elson signed in Denver? He could come here be a great backup at the 5 spot.

That's why we need to give a little more than what the other teams are offering a year. I say at the most a team would offer Butler or Elson a 4year $10million deal. That's 2.5million per year, to let say 4million for 1year. If this mess is settled before the end of the season we can go ahead and give him a extention on the 1year deal.
