WraithSentinel
It appear to be down to 3 teams. Here are their situation and players they have. http://hoopshype.com/salaries/golden_state.htm http://hoopshype.com/salaries/indiana.htm http://hoopshype.com/salaries/new_york.htm
sinctybldh
We can get height down the road. I am more interested in accumulating talent via trade.
Guest
Well here is our cap situation: 1. JJ - $12.75M 2. Al (still has a caphold) - $10.46 M 3. Speedy - $6.25 M 4. Marvin - $4.17M 5. Zaza - $4.00M 6. Lue - $3.50M 7. Childress - $2.86M 8. Shelden - $2.46M 9. Smith - $1.46M 10. Edwards - $1.08M 11. Stoudamire - $0.75M 12. Batista - $0.75 M 13. Ivey - $0.75 M Total as of right now - $51.24 M The Cap has yet to be released, I am hearing that it should be out sometime between now and tomorrow morning. So until then, we are not sure as to exactly how much money we can take back for Al and how much we could potential spend on other free agents. But I would expect us to be able to take back somewhere between $10 M and $12 M for Al straight up. Of course adding in other players would increase how much we could take back. warcore
Harrison might be that 20-22 year old big that BK has been talkin about
TexasPete
Since when do we have enough guards? We have Claxton and Lue at PG...that ain't what I call a playoff looking pair of PG's. We have JJ at 2...who else? Salim is a situational shooter who will play 2 but doesn't defend worth crap and is undersized for a SG. We need guards. I know BK gets a Woody everytime he sees a forward but I'm ready for some backcourt depth. And Ellis is what I'm looking for.
Watchman
I don't know if all the contract lengths fit within the Judge's 4 yr plan, because I don't think we can trust HoopsHype contract info. They say we only have JJ for next season. Nonetheless, I proposed a trade on Real GM (#3265619), which was accepted. Before you Marvin lovers have a cow, as Al doesn't show up on our roster, I had to substitute Marvin & Zaza in place of Al. Atlanta Trades: Al & Lue Receives: Magloire & Mo Williams Golden State Trades: Murphy, Pietrus & Taft Receives: Al & Lue Milwaukee Trades: Magloire & Mo Williams Receives: Foster & Tinsley (plus maybe a draft pick from Indiana) Indiana Trades: Foster & Tinsley Receives: Murphy, Pietrus & Taft (Salary cap fodder added as needed to balance trade.) What do you think?
DrReality
NY trades Crawford and Butler for Al. We get another guard and a young big. Rounds out our roster.
Duff_Man
I know this isn't popular, but I would love to get Pietrus here. I think his upside could be tremendous. And if we are looking to take on a contract, we could do way worse than Murphy. I'm just sayin'. I really like Pietrus.
Moderators AHF Posted July 11, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted July 11, 2006 Quote: I'm just sayin'. I really like Pietrus. But do you think he would ever play in front of JJ or Josh Smith/Marvin Williams? I think we need more than a good backup swingman for Al.

I pretty much like this one too. The danger with the Hawks(as I see it) early in the year is to again get hurt in the paint. A starting lineup of any 3 of ZZ, MW, JS and Shelden is awefully young and likely won't get many calls. Shelden will have to learn which players he can go for blocks against and which ones get automatic calls. I think we need another big. Batista can be our desparation backup. (no particular starting order here - whoever is playing best) 3 - MW/JS/JC 4 - Shelden/JS/MW 5 - Zaza/???/Batista
Premium Member sturt Posted July 12, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 Shelden's going to get some minutes now and then at the 5... BK said as much in a post-draft interview as I recall.
